great vitals where I shot,..... just have an inch thick bone over the top of them......

Here is an interesting hillbilly science project. Same bow, target, arrow, date/time, moon phase, tide, Chinese new year, truck and coffee mug. Rage 2 blade practice tip vs. G5 Deadmeat ballistic matched tip. 3" deeper penetration for G5. That is a 29" 340 Easton Nemesis (weighs 494 grs) out of a Diamond Carbon Cure at 65 pounds. The arrow is 272 fps. That is 81' lbs. The Rage is the red vanes and the yellow vanes in the G5. 12% better penetration with the G5!!!!

That's great, I did and my hit was totally in heavy bone. That is on me. BUT I shoot a 490 grain arrow out of a 70 pound bow that is IBO 340. The shot was 10 yrads and it wasn't a blade deploy issue, the ferrule itself fractured/fragmented. They fly like darts and and kill great when all the planets are aligned right (like everything else on the market). But that small percentage of time when you really need them to work and they don't its not good a thing. Just saying'....

Here is my plan..... at $40 for three Deadmeat heads, I set up one bow with them (Diamond Deadeye) and the other (Diamond Carbon Cure) I left with Rage heads. But I switched all from the Two Blade to the Chisel Tips. Seems the CT's do seem to have more gusto in boney spots from everything I read. I still want to see what the Deadmeats do on deer. I missed out on a doe Monday morning, The wind was all over the place and she made me as it was about to be game time for her. Old long nose girl. I am wanting to send one through a deer in the worst way. Getting closer I suppose.

Thanks, just hit the link. The 350's are oos. Will try again in a week.

You should think about a tougher built head. Ask me about my 130" ten that didn't tun out so well some time.
-
well done. Thunderhead 125, that is a blast from the past.

Welcome to the family.

100% complete and full inclusion. If it can make folks harvest safer and more effectively with archery tackle, its stupid to not include it. It definitely isn't anymore lethal than a compound bow, just more accurate. KE is the same. There is no down side to it at all. This was the way it was in the 60's with the compound shooters as well. The traditional archery lobby held them back for years. It took most other states making it good to fly before NYS did. As far as safety records go, there is no uptick at all in the reports that indicate xbows are more of a risk than compounds or traditional archery tackle.

wind will be a killer,..... gonna hunt the morning in one stand with a decoy. They should be on the move. Will be cold.

me too..... have a much more sturdy head now in the quiver. G5 Deadmeat.

horrible year this year. I guess the mild winter and wet summer made it ideal for them. Warm fall doesn't help either. They are pretty cold hardy as it is. Seems like if the sun is shinning they are crawling around.

Heritage first and foremost. Bonding and sport next.

Filled the whole 6.5' bed in that Silverado! That is a lot of jelly doughnuts.

I shot the BMP tip yesterday out of the Deadeye at 20 yards and again at 25. 6 shots each (3 arrow groups x2). The BMP grouped inside of the target tips on the other arrows. I'm thinking it will be within an inch or two. Probably will work well. I'll be hunting with Deadmeats in the quiver tomorrow morning.

My bad it was 642 was the guts out weight. Its the archery record. A friend was at the processor when it came in to be weighed. The live weight gun record was 829 in 2011. Some big bears in the Garden State!!!!

Between the two, which do you like better?
-
definitely not the intention. But I lost a nice deer on a bad shot into his shoulder. If if does happen again, I want something that is stronger in construction than the Rage. Basically a tougher built head.

Anyone have experience with Blood Sport or Victory arrows? I'm into my last dozen Easton Nemesis arrows. I love them but they don't make them anymore. They replaced them with the Bonfire, but I don't like the way the wrapped the whole arrow. The Victory Patriot is on Sportsman Guide for $55/dozen. The overall straightness is +/- .006. The Blood Sport Punisher is +/- .004. I don't know if that will make huge difference shooting at deer inside of 40 yards. Also since they are both lighter, their charts put me into the 300 spine. In the Easton I shoot 340's. Set up is 30" at 70 pounds hard cam. 100 gr broadhead.

Anyone know anything about these? I bought a pack yesterday. After Friday with the shoulder hit buck, I want something tougher than Rage.
-
I asked the guy to text me the pic he has not done that yet.

I have a Diamond Deadeye that is I think 320, until I put my arrow on it LOL. Speed kills, smoothness is better I think for accuracy, which in the end always wins.

I heard a Long Islander just brought in a Black Bear from Hunterdon County NJ that broke their live weight record. This one weighed 647.
