This Mus was just hanging around till a pellet ended it's night. It popped out around 8 ft away, so I had to hold over because I had the rifle sighted in at 30 yards for my adventure upstate to visit my brother to help drop some country Mus. SJC

Looks like the predator took out a Mus last night. SJC

Got this one soon after dropping the rat. Don't know what's happening with my zero at longer distances, but it seems to be hitting an inch high at 20 yards, which is what I ranged this one at. It stacks pellets in my basement range target, so I'm going to have to bring the setup to the range and get it dialed in one day. SJC

Saw this crawling around the neighbors property earlier in the week. No mistaking what it was, the plague ! It finally came to the bait I set out for it last night. Plague eRaticated ! SJC

This one played hide and seek all night long. Patience is a virtue when Night stalking. You need to be prepared to take a shot when it's presented. As seen in this video, that's sometimes a difficult task when Mus hunting. Just wait, it'll happen. SJC

Changed the battery, hydrated and went out again. These two tried to hide, but there's no hiding from thermal. The Barra's trigger breaks clean so it's easy to thread the needle with it. A vast improvement over the Fusion 2's trigger. SJC

Well the Barra got off to a bad start with two misses last night. I took it inside to check zero and stacked them tight. I guess it shoots better when gassed lower than 2,000 psi. So I loaded the magazine and went out again. It didn't disappoint. This one must've thought it was safe after the misses, wrong !

All you need to do is mix 1-1/2 - 2 lbs of salt into a gallon of water. The vinegar and soap are useless against P I. SJC

Yes sir, it's great practice and keeps me in tune with using the back up thermal scope + monocular that don't get much use during the regular season. I've been mulling it over and after digging out all of the Cabela gift cards I've had lying around, I pulled the trigger on a PCP air rifle this afternoon. I bought a Barra 1100Z .177 cal rifle and Buck Rail moderator. Should be a deadly combo. SJC

This is a mouse that wouldn't sit still for a shot earlier in the evening. SJC

#3 for the night. Offhand at 15 yards. I keep going out of focus because I'm shooting through a fence and needed to see if the target wasn't blocked by a fence wire. Splat ! SJC

I've been looking to upgrade my converted Co2 to PCP rifle to a more tunable and accurate PCP rifle. I was reminded of that needed upgrade after lining up on a mus and nothing happening after pulling the trigger. Tank was empty after three days of no use. Tank no leak, so the rifle has an internal leak. For the price I paid for it, topped with a thermal scope, it didn't do so bad for shooting tiny animals at distance with a .177 pellet. Time to divert some funds and get a real PCP rifle. SJC #2 heart shot at 20 yards.

Couldn't sleep after eating Mexican food for for Mothers day dinner, so I decide to stalk some Mus. This one took six shots to drop, but it dropped none the less. SJC

When it rains it pours and it only took a couple of minutes after dropping the first Mus before this unfortunate Mus came into range. I thought I missed it, but like the Mus I shot earlier, it moved a little and then moved no more. You know a Mus is dead when it doesn't move. SJC

After the torrent of rain turned into a drizzle I knew the Mus would be on the prowl. This one had been giving me the slip since Friday PM. SJC

Let the dog out and decided to do one more Mus patrol. This Mus made the mistake of lounging on the fence. SJC
-
This Mus didn't get the memo that Mus death is in town tonight. The Fusion II seems to prefer the 8.2 grn RWS pellets. SJC

This Mus gave me the slip many times, but it's slipping days are over. What a beautiful night for using thermal. SJC

When targets of opportunity pop up, you take advantage of it. Was tracking this vole for a half hour until it came into range. SJC

If you see an ACME truck pull up to the park, Run away fast !

Had to give this one an insurance shot just to make sure it was down for good. Never take chances with a Mus. SJC

The cheapest useable, reliable and feature rich china made 384 resolution thermal scope and monocular combo that you won't need to upgrade after purchase will run you $3,300 new, with a 5 year warranty. Buying anything cheaper is like throwing money down the drain. My suggestion is to buy the monocular first and then the scope. You can PM for the details so this thread won't wander off from Mus hunting. SJC
