  1. This might sound weird,,, but can I come live with you next november?
  2. Same reason you can shoot 170" whitetail in texas that weighs 120lbs, and a 100" basket 8 up here that pushes 200 correct?
  3. Congrats Don! I have to find a good corn field to kill some mallards in. Unfortunately all my geese are killed in the field and all my ducks are killed over the water.
  4. Well my normal predator gun is a .223 but that is pulled apart right now so I had to use my buddy's 22-250. Won't do that again. He's got a considerably large hole from it.
  5. I didn't but I plan to pull the fur off this afternoon and I'll be sure to stick it on a scale before I do.
  6. I posted a topic about the grey I shot about a week ago. Well I got this red last night out behind the house. Unfortunately no white tip on the tail but real cool looking black legs. Seems to be a lot of them around this year.
  7. I'm pretty sure you're correct. Going to look damn good on the wall though!
  8. He said the only wound he could find on the deer was a puncture wound in the middle of the forehead. So your speculation is as good as mine.
  9. Yes sir. He is part of a lease and goes when he draws tags
  10. I don't know the whole story of the hunt because we just had a quick conversation on the phone but I wanted to share the pictures on here. What I do know is this thing has a 30" inside spread! Congrats dad!
  11. I think it's funny how many different opinions we have here.
  12. Never thought about doing bucks from the head for mounting purposes. Makes sense though.
  13. I forgot to include this. I hate when it looks like there's a noose around their neck..
  14. I was always taught growing up to hang deer upside down from the rear legs so gravity helps drain the blood which helps the meat and prevents pooling in the good meat in the hinde quarters. Always made sense to me. I've seen a lot of people on here this year hanging deer from their necks. How does everyone hang and is there a benefit to hanging from the neck?
  15. If it's good buy that sucker yourself! Then you have no worries
  16. As stated before those ariel images can be from a few years ago so you could get there and everything looks different. If you're looking on google earth, there should be a date at the bottom of the map to tell you when it was taken.
  17. I couldn't agree more. Too many people wanna be like the Lakowskis or Wadell and forget how people killed NY deer for years and years.
  18. Hope I'm not to late here but I think this is what you're looking for. This slip has got me into a lot of spots that I wouldn't have been otherwise, peace of mind for you and the landowner. I always keep a few in my truck. http://www.dec.ny.gov/docs/wildlife_pdf/ask.pdf
  19. Great point. I'll post pics when it's done [emoji6]
  20. They look great Biz. Bad time of year to be dropping that kind of cash on myslef but boy would that look good in the man cave.
  21. I could go on for days here. Have any specific questions? I'm no pro but I kill my fair share of ducks and geese.
  22. Quote came back for the full body at $625... Might have to stick with just the fur
  23. Shot this guy last night right out behind the house. Never shot a grey before and he has a beautiful full pelt on him so I'm thinking a full body mount for sure.
  24. Normally I prefer the pedestal mount but I gotta agree with you on that. He's a great looking dog the whole way down.
