    Nobody cares when you fill anything. Point being you said yourself that you did not hunt. Your choice. The state should not add time to put more pressure on the herd because a guy chooses not to hunt during the regular season.

    True That. But to use deer as the only excuse to get out and get whatever one needs out of woods experience is weak at best.

    Easy now. I do more for the common folk then anyone else I know. And Santa better have deep pockets. That size will bring a cool 6-7 grand easy. But I would give him a package discount.

    One does not need a gun to enjoy all the sights and sounds of the woods. Actually hearing that does get kinda old from some. Oh I do it for the enjoyment of the woods and such yet never see a wood lot for 9 months of the year.

    Your right to a point. Some use family as his want to hunt. Well every other season is open besides Whitetails.

    There you have it. So a hunter does not get it done because they don’t have what it takes to see them so let’s throw a few more weeks at them and pressure the whole system even more. With the flawed logic of sending poor hunters out with a couple of the weakest weapons we hunt with with the thinking from the DEC that they want more deer killed. That my friend is what’s flawed.

    Sorry but that’s pretty weak. Do you not determine your own hunting? Say DEC says you need more deer killed in your hunting area and you saw 5 deer all year? And your all in with that because they say so? It’s obvious your either not from Ny or your very young. Either way… You will learn.

    Great post. Your Issue. Which is for most if they would admit it. If they hunted all the time they had and didn’t get it done they either need lessons or another place to hunt. Period.

    More typical BS. The 3 ladies sitting next to that 189lbs buck would tell a different story. In a real state that cared about the deer herd they would not allow people to chase them around for months at a time. Regardless of their hunting fortitude.

    Please. Everyone I know works 40 plus and are not weekend warriors and fill their freezers just fine. That’s a choice for many.

    Whatever that’s supposed to mean. Fact is if a person really needs more time in this so called deer rich state then there’s a problem in the equation somewhere.

    Ask yourself this question… How has your last 6-8-10 weeks of hunting went? Do you need more time? If so why? If your herd is there in great shape and management done what’s the problem of not filling your tags in the huge amount of time already handed out?

    So you think it’s healthy for a Whitetail herd to be harassed for another week for hunter enjoyment? When does it end? They say they want more deer takin yet they send….Let’s admit…The less skilled/Successful hunters back into the woods with the least successful weapons and the hardest time of year on the deer to go ahead and give it another shot? That’s Sad!

    Sorry bub but if you or anyone really really need 3 months to get a family supply of venison in Ny state you really should hook up with someone a little better for some pointers. Don’t cry about weekend warriors either. That’s a choice.

    Exactly. Cant tell me there is an over abundance of deer in all the areas that have been open now for months on end. And if there is an over abundance of deer what is that saying about the hunters that have already had months on end to get what they need? Catch 22 maybe.

    Can’t believe people need another week to get meat after the amount of time already allowed. But their land so do as they see fit I guess.

    Oh look. Pic number 114 of 80 inch antlers from a meat hunter. I would be more impressed if he had a big set of nuts.

    That’s a tough pull. The need/want to harvest a deer is strong. One could chase many small game critters to fill the “Desire”in us. The pull is real.
