I still take plenty of does to fill the freezer but won’t take a smaller buck than what I know is out there and available to me if I hunt him smart and have luck sitting on my shoulder. Have been lucky enough to kill bigger but won’t settle for smaller just to say I shot a buck. Haven’t for years and that’s prob the biggest reason I have mature bucks to chase every year. Way to many doe tags available to get the meat needed. Self employed and time to hunt helps big time no doubt when it comes to leaving this farm to head West.

Same lands every year like most other hunters. I do put many a miles on the Dodge heading down to hunt the Park and do have somewhere around 20 cameras out every year here at the home farm and down at camp. Have many choices of bucks to hunt most years but myself I like going the one on one route and try to beat one certain mature buck on his turf. Prob let a couple go bigger then the ones I picked out but kinda liked the turned brow’s on the North buck and the body size of the buck on the park. To me it just seems more like really hunting them anymore after all these years hunting and bucks takin.

One of those bucks lived on a state park and sure was available to others. I would have to say most on this site hunt private lands with deer of this caliber available.

Does anyone else locate a Buck, learn that Bucks movements and lifestyles and not be satisfied with anything less? Bigger if it happens of course but nothing less? Hunt a deer. Not any deer? These Bucks are a couple hundred miles apart. Satisfaction

These tags way back when were the best. 1/2 on deer and 1/2 mailed in. Check in stations and mailing back unused tags would halt a whole bunch of the taking of illegal bucks. Most of which are younger bucks.

Your right. I get chastised for not taking hero shots of the larger bucks I have taken over the years including this year. I myself am more impressed by a hunter that sets his sights on nothing but mature deer....More so of hunters who actually locate and take those mature bucks. You know. That’s the real word of hunting in my book and it takes a good hunter to kill 1-2 mature bucks every year.

So let me get this right. The CDC says the flu and pneumonia cases are down across the country because people are masking up. The CDC also says that this Covid crap is so high now and running rampant across the country because nobody is listening to the mask up rule. Now which one do you take as gospel at this time? Because I as long as 1000’s of others are just so confused!

And if they add a tag for Xbow and a charge$$ to go with it the Xbow inclusion will fly right thru. The rest of them will be pretty simple to push along.

Got that right. And every newscast has said and even our great Cuomo said that this vaccine has not been proven to stop people from getting or giving even after the shot so he will keep the boot on your throat and diaper on your face. Hell I and everyone else I personally know should be dead by now. Being essential and all we have been mask free and in the game from the jump. Know of about a dozen that got it without an issue and know if 1 death that the person had other issues before the Covid. If one looks at the number of deaths from everything the last 2-3 years and look at the deaths this year we are doing better this year even with the virus. So yes it sucks and never should have happened but in the grand scheme of things ???

Yeah that sounds like a great life. Shall we continue to stop the world from spinning also. Will the hotdog in order to have a beer and closing at 10pm continue to keep the Covid away? Shall we continue to bury all the little stores to only mass shop with 100,s of others at the same time? So many things wrong with this crap.

Yeah it all depends what outfit one reads from. But point still is that they are handing out a vaccine that they have no clue if a person will still get or still give something they are so called protecting them from. So let’s stay shut down and wear a mask for 3-4 more years maybe.

All this went down years ago with great success. Tags were pre stamped and just needed a drop into a box. Then maybe they could make an Educated guess about the real numbers of deer where and when. Right now it’s all an uneducated guess. At best.

Shows what you don’t really know. So tell me. How do you think they can set a season and a limit with not a clue as to how many were takin? It worked years ago when there was great deer hunting and will work again. All months worth of hunting does is allow others to fill others tags. If you need weeks to kill a deer you probably need another hobby.

Exactly! And they are saying you will still get it and give it. Hell why would they say you need to mask up if your covered. This is getting to be a joke and will never end.

I don’t believe that’s the case. It only eases the symptoms of those getting the shot. Like the flu. They say you can still get the virus and give the virus and even after the shot they say your mask stays on. Come On Man....

Taking a shot that they say will not stop you from getting it. Not stop you from giving it and is only 70-90% effective? The survival rate of the virus itself higher?

Mandatory check stations and mail in of unused tags would help the cause big time.

Another successful season. 2 mature bucks taken. 1 in Letchworth and 1 at home farm. Two doe just icing on the season.
