  1. That's exactly what happened, all the screws loosed up. String Stop/Stabilizer, whisker biscuit, and the Cable Rob/Slide. The whisker biscuit is just dangling at the moment. I was going to take it back to the shop since I figured once everything was back together it would have to be tuned, no? Should there be blue Loctite on these screws?
  2. Today my bow basically fell apart on me :/ Shot about 100 or so arrows when they started to fly to the right. Adjusted my sight, didn't help. When I went to nock an arrow I noticed the fletching touching the bow strings. The string guard and whisker biscuit were basically about to fall off the bow..... Shop guy told me I'm either the luckiest guy in the world or the unluckiest, lol. Question for ya'll, after this I don't feel confident in this bow at all. Could there be something wrong with it or do you think once its put back together its good to use?
  3. Glad I'm not the only one who enjoyed using it lol. Honestly, anyone who uses a tree stand should own one. A harness is great for buying you time, hang long enough though and it's lights out.
  4. Is no one bow huntn anymore this season?
  5. Treestand Wingman!! I own one, spent an entire day jumping out of trees and it 100% plain ol works over and over again. Will never ever go up a tree without it.
  6. 35 minutes left before I call it a wrap on rifle season. Is it okay if I continue to post in here when I swap to bow next week?
  7. 100percent. I was about 30ft above her and didn't take that into account when aiming.
  8. Do it! You know what's even worse than not seeing them? Bumping them and not being able to take a shot for the last 7 days! I did a sit this morning, nothing. I'm back out now till 5 then bow on Wednesday.
  9. I just purchased these a few weeks ago and love them.
  10. Sitting out here, 3m, super windy!! Just picked up my first bow. If I end the day with no deer then I'll try my hand at bow until jan!!
  11. You guys are great, thank you so much for all the advice. I went to flying arrows today with a budget of 1500. Dave no longer works there but I still received great help. They had 2 bows in my price range, a Hoyt and a Bowtech. After testing them both I chose the 2021 Bowtech Carbon Zion Compound. I have a 29" draw length and 60lb draw weight. I forget the type of arrows, I think something with a v1 350? All I remember is that it was 175 for a dozen. Still haven't chosen my release or broadheads yet. Again, thank you all. You have been great.
  12. That's exactly where I plan to go! The drive is about 45 minutes for me as well. I'm in the new windsor area.
  13. I do use a lifeline with my current climber, its a Treestand Wingman. I spent an entire afternoon jumping out of trees testing it out, lowered me gently to the ground every time! I definitely do not have expectations of shooting a buck, though I did see 2 this year and both I spooked. I also need to pick up a range finder. I was thinking about purchasing one this year but couldn't justify it shooting rifle. I thought hard and heavy about this. Originally that was the plan but when I saw that Hunting Season starts in September I decided to go with bow. It's okay if I don't get anything with it this year, at least I will have from practice time in for next years hunt. I definitely plan on shooting as many models as they will let me. Will read up on FOC.
  14. Definitely not in a rush, but I do have that itch to go out! Do you know any places around 3m where I could go practice my draws? I live in an apartment so open space is not really a thing.
  15. Awesome, this is the stuff I am looking for. Thank you!
  16. Hey Guys, I started hunting last year, rifle. Didn't have a chance to get one but got a taste of the hobby and loved it. This year I bought a savage 220/climbing treestand and hunted Stewart, I was rewarded with my first doe. Now I am completely hooked and I don't want my season to be over this year. Which leads me to bow hunting, been watching it non stop on youtube and I really really want to get into it. I have everything I could need but the bow. I plan on going to Flying Arrow Sports to get my first bow on Monday, if possible. Any of you seasoned vets have any suggestions on setup, technique, just general advice on bowhunting?
  17. Ooph, lost my great uncle to covid, nursing home scandal :/ Thoughts and prayers... Evening sit was the same, was beautiful out, no deer. Heard 2 shots at 4:20, assuming the neighbor popped one.
  18. Sat our for the morning hunt, not a dang thing, left at 11. Going back out again at 1 for the afternoon/evening sit.
  19. I'm with you on that. Being new to this hobby, this year I went hard. Had around 12 sits, took an entire week off work. Been at it non stop, lol. Seeing deer on some site but I realized today I am taking too long to take my shot. I need to put my sights on one and pull the trigger instead of hesitating for an absurd amount of time.
  20. 3 days on private land and no luck. Going to try Stewart again tomorrow, starting to think I wont be able to fill my last doe tag.
  21. Hunted some private property this morning. 3M Arrived at 5am, on the way in spotted 3 does in the field I was to hunt, they caught wind of me and slowly meandered away. Stayed till 10am seeing only a coyote, will go back at 3pm and try again!
  22. I think I'm doing something wrong with my bass. Every time I have tried to cook largemouth it tastes like old lake water :/
  23. I bet that smally fought like bloody hell! Below is my PB smally, no idea on the weight, maybe 3ishlbs? Caught in him a relatively small creek.
  24. Can't forget what you don't know! Edit: Took a minute for me to catch on Putnam County, old private Boy Scout camp property.
