Sadly, it seems like the number of slobs out there that "hunt and fish" are growing. Even as a youngster growing up in farm couuntry my parents had me seek permission for the spots I wanted to hunt or fish on neighboring farms every new season. I learned respect and to this day I alway send a gift and card to those who grant me permission near holiday time. A little curtesy goes a long-long way to permission next year and you gain friends.

Hamilton County Sunday morning had a good dusting and there was lake effect snow on and off all day. Just enough snow to track and get your pant cuffs wet.... Winter is here in the North country....

How to take care of a Tresspasser ........
Salmon_Run replied to fasteddie's topic in General Chit Chat
A local farmer got PO'd at some turkey hunters trespassing on his fields a few years back and drove the manure spreader around and around the vehicle leaving an embankment of cow waste all around the truck.....it was pretty funny and I bet they got the point when they found there truck stranded by manure.... -
They were ticketed and I guess there is "Facebook" trail cam pictures taken at their camp with the block in full view........... Maybe they will learn their lesson soon enough. I just do not want trails, salt blocks and tree stand on my land....... You can learn easily who owns what with county tax records on line...... Thanks Doewacker..............................I may need to circle the wagons up North...

Thanks guys, I knew this would stir some debate. I took down the line of orange flag tape and wrapped it on the bottom section of the stand. I had nothing to leave as a note. I don't want to start a range war and problems. I guess they were recently ticketed by ENCON for putting out salt/mineral blocks on their land right behind their camp and were being watched for cutting trails for wheelers across and on state land..... wonderful start....I go to the backwoods to get away from this type of crap....funny that all the posted signs on my property had suddenly vanished along that adjoining boundry line too.......I pay taxes and if asked politely I would consider a reciprical type agreement... The camp behind me and I have agreed as such and we have lots of access to state land as welll off our one back line..... wish me luck please.......

Ok guys lets get this debate started....If you owned property in the mountains and arrived well into the season and found that a neighboring camp (tenants unknown) have erected a tree stand with canopy clearly on your marked property. Would you destroy it, remove it or how would you handle the situation? They even have a four wheeler trail cut across the land, marked their tree stand with red ribbons and the trail to the stand with reflective tacs in every other tree. Lets debate this, and thanks for the input........

I process my own, last weekend I harvested two deer in Western New York and bought the bullet buying a good size grinder at Bass Pro.....I processed both deer and had over 12 lbs of sausage that was a breeze to process with a good quality grinder. The wife chips in and we have a deer butcher party in the garage....

Good luck out there Tyler. Take a drive out by the Montazuma Preserve and you are closer to the Bass Pro!! Dan

It is called PROFESIONALISM and dedication to one's career....... Sadly we lack that in every field; way too many hands out looking for a free ride. Sad relection of society. I have been in the law enforcement field for 27 years and have seen major changes over the years of the canadates who apply and are accepted. Lucky they show up to work on time and when they are disciplined they are the "victim"..... Sad but true................. -

Sad but I guess they never thought to put that question on the psych exam......do you like or dream about eating human flesh ? We seldom hear about the police, teachers, soldiers, and politician that faithfuly serve day in and day out without any crap. We hear in the news about the sensational freak that never should be on the job to start. -

Anyone ever smoke a venison ham or have any thoughts. Thought it might be nice around the holidays.....

If you are used to hunting in Maine than the Adirondacks are very similar. There is deep woods and some big-big deer. Only problem is winter kill and the woods have not been logged in years. Lack of logging leaves very little small brouse in some area as the mature trees are so big. Best advise is to scout areas after first snow and look for sign..... best of luck!!

Some businesses are checking ID now before they allow ammo purchases. I would have inquired why they placed the info into their computer though. Are you sure they didn't enter your personal info for their "rewards program" ?
