    Change of plans... heading up early saturday morning with plans to hunt all day saturday and sunday morning. This will be my last chance to go up this season. Hoping for the best, planning for the worst. . . .

    Hey Poppy, Too bad on the ruined hunt. Planning on heading up Friday morning for a last weekend hunt for me this season. Hoping to connect at least with a doe to put meat in my freezer. Otherwise it's going to be a long winter without Venison. It's been nice chatting with you too. If you see anything by you that you don't want to shoot send them down Route 6 toward me! Lol!

    Well done for the day heading back to LI. Very frustrating sitting for hours and not seeing much. Saw 2 fat does 300+ yards about 9:30. Too risky of a shot. So far tag soup is starting to simmer.     Opening Day

    First time in I don't know how many years that no one in my group harvested anything on opening weekend. We usually have at least 2 hanging by the 2nd day. This year so far nothing. Last year I tagged out on Saturday filling my doe tag in the morning and my buck tag in the afternoon. This is not a good start. Sent with Tapatalk on my Samsung Galaxy 4

    And opening day came to a close with only 1 deer sighted over 500 yds away. It was eerily quiet this afternoon no wind, no deer but tons of squirrels. Those big guys are big for a reason. They only come out at night! At least I roosted 20+ turkeys above my stand. Going out tomorrow morning. Hopefully I will be able to at least fill my freezer.

    Well opening morning came and went. Sat in my stand at 5:45am with legal light at 6:46am figured I'd give it an hour to let things settle down. Really weird morning, cold 23 degs, no wind, no deer, tons of squirrels that sounded like elephants and tons of early shots and some idiot with multiple shots as if he was sighting in - really on opening day?? Came in to warm up and get some grub. Going back out about 1pm for the rest of the day.
