    Last ditch effort with the crossbow. Hunting with the decoy on a rye plot.

    No sightings this AM. I'll give it a whirl this afternoon. Really not to bad out with minimal wind.

    Alright, we get a little snow and some cold and the deer just vanished!

    23+15mph winds, light snow falling had what looked to be a fawn feeding before light. Some tracks in snow from last night.

    No deer, no tracks!

    Rain has stopped, I'm in the tree. Not one track in last night's snow.

    Gonna wait for the rain to end, around 11:00, then head out for the remainder.

    Not a bad day, 8 hours in stand. 2 bucks, 2 does and a fawn. Just gotta get one of the right bucks to show.

    Only got half of my mid-day projects completed. Oh well this tree is more important right now. Come on rutting bucks!

    Just had a 5 pt chase a doe under my stand, twice!

    One antlered spike passed through and worked a mock scrape. I have several good eights on the hill and the only buck I've seen while hunting is this spike. Sorry, also one three point.

    Nothing happening here this morning. Think I'll check some cams later.

    Lone doe just winded me in this swirling wind.

    Spikehorn was laying under my stand when I got here. I stopped in my tracks and he got up about 10 minutes later and walked right past me about 10 yards with no worries.

    Saw a doe and fawn at first light and then, nothing.

    Only 8',and it has a ladder now.

    When my neighbor sold he gave me this blind. As I'm sitting in it I'm beginning to think it's a jinx for all this rain. Sure beats sitting in the house.

    So this is an 11mph SE wind. More like 25mph.

    Couldn't get them all together. The deek is to the left bt not in any pics.

    Wow! Officially hooked on decoying. First light a doe and fawn came in, just now a spike and then a three point came in. Sparring, scraping. They kept their distance from the decoy, about 5 yards away. Within feet of me and I'm on the ground in a blind.

    Does just winded me. Only ran 50 yards.

    Had a doe and fawn investigate my decoy. Pretty neat experience. Waiting for the right buck to see it.
