  2. Try here --- They are on sale http://www.knivesplus.com/camillus-knife-granpa.html
  3. They get easier if you shoot multiple arrows at the same spot .
  4. Is't Kali-fornia due to slide into the Ocean some day soon !
  5. i've seen that before . What a POS ! And , 3 years of college and a 3 year old would have a better vocabulary !
  6. Is there a sign on that rig that says "bucks only" ?
  7. And I believe Carlo won't be able to apply until Sept 24 of this year .
  8. Carlo --- If you are gonna apply for a pistol permit , you might want to change your attitude !
  9. When the NAHC was sending me books that I didn't order I sent them back and requested that they stop . When they continued to send them , I read them and gave them away . I got a couple bills and I got back to the NAHC and told them that I don't pay for unsolicitated items . No more books and no more bills !
  10. I have been a member of the NAHC for several years . I have gotten a couple of fairly decent items to field test and keep --- A mat for cleaning guns on and a gadget that clips to yout belt and fastenens to your camera / binos so you can retrieve them if you drop them from your stand . Also got some wipe pads with mosquio repellant , a spool of orange thread to tie the thread to a bowstring to tell wind direction . You might not get anything to Field Test for 2-4 years and it might be some crap anyway . The magazine you get is pretty good but the free knife is junk .
  11. Congrats on the new job .....
  12. if you are any kind of a Military Veteran , most of the lowes will give you 10 percent off . So , check it out .
  13. The point of my post is the close proximity of the shooting and the fact that it is used to cull deer and save the Town / Village money ! Duh ! I wonder how the folks that live near those properties feel about somone shooting near their homes . I believe it is done during school hours so the kids aren't home .
  14. It would be nice if someone who has had some experience shooting deer for the town of Irondequoit could share thier experience . Irondequoit used to spend several thousand dollars a year to have deer culled from Durand Eastman Park . They paid off duty cops to do this with a Bait and Shoot Program . Several years ago , the town started a project allowing Certified Bow Hunters to shoot deer in the Village . There were specific hours and properties that the archers were allowed to hunt . Several of these were in back yards and the culling was done without any incidents but it was closely monitored . I believe the Town still does this as far as I know . The close monitoring might be what is keeping it safe though . I don't know anyone who is experiencing this hunting though .
  15. So , once again I ask , if Blaze Orange was made "mandatory" for hunters , what about anyone else walking / riding on properties that are hunted ? Would walkers , joggers , dog walkers , bike riders , etc be required to wear the blaze orange ? They would be just as easily to be shot at as a hunter . Where would the line be drawn ?

    arrow rest.

I switched to Drop-Away rests so I could shoot Qwik-Spins and FOBs which I couldn't do with the Whisker Biscuit .
  17. Is that supposed to be the point of this whole thread ? Know what you are shooting at ! The father shot his son in the chest at about 100 yards according to the article . If he wasn't sure of his target , he shouldn't have shot ! Since there are several hunting seasons , other than deer season , should hikers , bike riders , horse riders , joggers , farmers , etc be made to wear Blaze orange all year "to be safe" ? Know what you are shooting at before you pull the trigger ! it's as simple as that .
  18. If they put the Kiddie Hunt in Archery Season , it won't bother me . I hunt private properties . If there is any shooting , it might drive the deer my way so I can see it as a possible advantage in bow season . But ....... I think the Kiddie hunt should be "doe only" since the DEC wants to cull doe anyway . Then again , make it easy for the Youth and have the hunt the last weekend in August . Not much else going on then .

    arrow rest.

The only other containment rest I had tried was the QAD Pro and hated it . Neither I nor the bow shop could get total vane clearance si I got rid of it . A lot of folks like it .
  20. Hey Doc ..... have the kids wear Blaze orange jackets !
  21. Look , I wear blaze orange when I hunt whether I am in a blind , treestand or walking . I belive in wearing it . If I drop a deer in the middle of a field , I don't think it should be necessary to drag it 100 or so yards to the edge of the field so I can hang my blaze orange jacket on a bush or treelimb and field dress the deer . So now with my jacket off I am vulnerable because someone might see movement and shoot because they don't see the blaze orange . If you think this is stretching it , what the hell do you thing the original article was about . A son having his blaze orange off and being shot by his father .
  22. So Burt , what you are saying is ..... in order to be safe during hunting season people must be wearing Blaze Orange or they are idiots ? I guess in your thinking , if the person isn't wearing Blaze orange and gets shot it's his fault because he was an idiot . Hmmmmmm ! Who's thinking is flawed ? Oh look. Something moving down there . I don't see any orange ...... bam , bam , bam !
  23. I guess if someone isn't wearing the Blaze Orange or have it hanging next to him / her , they are fair game !
