  1. I haven't seen any birds while deer hunting this past season, or for that matter out in the fields when driving? You'd think with the very mild winter weather we have had this year, many birds will have made it through with flying colors!!!
  2. Before switching to a rifle, I was shooting a scoped winchester 1300 along with those 1 1/4oz Lightfield slugs. Deadly out to 75 yards!! After that, wouldn't group worth a darn. When they allowed rifles, went to a Tikka T3 lite in a .308. What a dandy gun and a real tack driver too!!
  3. Question that I have asked a few times on this very question now is this: Why doesn't the fall season in the southern zone start on October 1st like the rest of the state? That way we can get in a couple of weeks of turkey season in "before the bow season starts for deer ". I haven't got a good answer on this yet and feel that it should be changed. They (dec) claim it would over hunt them if the season started ealier, 2-3 weeks?????? There is no valid reason not to in my opinion. I Would like to hear other's opinions on this as well....thanks.
  4. correct me if I'm wrong, but a trailer hitch is usually below the bumper right? So how could that block your plate?
  5. I thought of doing that, the sticker thing, but then decided that it would be just advertising for someone to break into your vehicle.
  6. I always wear Blaze orange during the gun season. Blaze orange hat and blaze camo jacket. I also carry a blaze orange mesh cap in my turkey vest, as well as a blaze orange turkey bag to carry out the bird in. Safety can't be stressed enough.
  7. Another no vote here as well. I actually prefer the ones we have now with the white background. From what I hear, the new plates are optional along with a fee as well.
  8. Of the bows mentioned above, I picked up a mathews switchback a couple of season's ago and agree, awsome bow. I sold my previous mathew's, an Ultra-Light that I had for almost 9 years previous. I guess you can say I'm partial to the mathew's line. I use to be the guy who up-graded every other year until buying that first mathew's bow many years earlier. I don't shoot indoor leagues any more like when I was younger and when I shot fingers. Never quite got that magical "300" but a 297 was my closest!! Since switching to a release, I was hooked at this new method to me after shooting with a tab for so long. If and when I get the urge to up-grade again, a mathews will be the bow of choice once again, and who know's, they might have something new out over the Z-7?
  9. Savage was my other choice!!! Just liked the fit and feel of the Tikka a little better.
  10. Another Leupold lover here as well. For the money, they are a great optic.
  11. Picked up a Tikka lite in a .308 when they allowed rifles in Catt. county. Tack driver of a gun!! Blued with a black composite stock, and the bolt is butter smooth too!! Great deer/bear gun for the area. Also own a CZA 452 American in the .17HMR caliber. Another tack driver!!
  12. Picked up a 09' Silverado last June, year old now, and I love it!! Use to drive a 2004 Ford Ranger ext cab, but it was getting a little small to carry other people in it. 135,000 miles and 5 years later hello Silverado!!
