  1. Crotch horn, 3 doe, and a nice red fox this morning. Nothing tonight which surprised me. Oh well onto tommorow, weather looks awesome!
  2. The king!!! What a awesome experience that must have been. Sounds like a great guy. Not many pro athletes like that
  3. Congrats, and awesome pics. The country out there is so awesome and beautiful. Can't wait to get back out there.
  4. You won't be disappointed. It's money well spent, and the last one you will ever have to buy.
  5. Sorry got behind on this thread. Received my call last week. I like supporting the small business guy as well as others, and appreciate what goes into making one of these. I did research on it all well and let me tell you it is lower sounding then any call I've ever heard. It sounds so realistic compared to the big boy store brands. I compared sounds with a couple store bought brands that I had (primos) and it is literally night and day. I also went back and forth talking with the guy for a few days, great guy and enjoys the outdoors and stories that go with it as much as we do. Do a Google search of "vector calls vimeo" and there will be a video that comes up of him making the calls. Pretty cool Here's mine
  6. Warm and you could hear a pin drop in 8J, but boy it feels good to be back!
  7. I have the under armour get up, switched over from scent blocker a year ago. It is expensive but the other imitations aren't up to par with it. I like it cause it's lightweight, not bulky, and I don't have to wear as many layers underneath. That being said, I never buy anything before the season. I wait till after or can find them online for alot lower pricing. Dicks is usually like a clearing house after the season, where is basspro never really changes because all they sell is hunting stuff.
  8. His work is awesome! I went with the camo green one.
  9. Did you get the light colored one!? That thing looked awesome.
  10. I think it's a fair price for all the work and time he puts into them though! Takes alot of talent. I talked with him last night and got lucky. He said normally there's a wait for his calls, but he had some he had gotten ahead on for the upcoming season and would have them ready in a week or so. What a great guy to talk with and a class act..... Can't wait to try it!!
  11. Phade, did a little research on these grunt calls. They look awesome and sound amazing in the video. Sent him an email to get pricing and turn around time. Looks like a top notch product!
  12. There's a time and place for them. I don't use them at all until things start heating up in November depending on the situation and that's if I even use one. If I do it's the can or a little grunting. A lot of times I think people do more harm then good by calling rather than letting things happen naturally, especially if it's to early or calling to much. I think it comes off unnatural to them. To each its own though, everyone's hunting spot is different.
  13. First shot at 6:18 hahaha.....unreal... Never fails to amaze me! 8H Sent from my DROID BIONIC using Tapatalk 2
  14. Thanks guys!! This is the guy I had been after all season.... I saw him once last Saturday morning but couldn't get him stopped when he was chasing a doe at 30 yds. Thinking they are from the same gene pool judging by the tines. I know he is a couple years older though. He has been a ghost only moving a night for the last few years. Was surprised I even saw him last Saturday during daylight! Sent from my DROID BIONIC using Tapatalk 2
  15. After the count had climbed to 17 1.5-2.5 yr old bucks I had passed this Archery season it was beginning to set in that I wasn't going to get a shot this year at a mature one. It was my last morning to hunt after all, but I was fine with it, I would rather eat a tag then not give them a chance to develop. Well I was rewarded for my patience around 8 am Wednesday morning it was 21 degrees with a little snow on the ground and this guy came to me in my pinch point stand. It was going to be a 30 yd shot but at the last second he turned and came directly toward me, I couldn't believe it. I came to full draw and he had come in to 10 yds broadside at this point. I released and sent a rocket steelhead through both lungs. He took off went 30-40 yds and did the oh crap dance and it was over. He's not the monster I had been after all season, but I couldn't be happier with him. Sent from my DROID BIONIC using Tapatalk 2
  16. Couldn't agree more with this. My pass count is up to 15 after this weekend of 1.5 - 2.5 yr olds. There is three 4.5 yr olds one of which I was so close to getting this Saturday I'm waiting for, but would also gladly shoot the 3.5 half rack that I have on camera if he walks by. It's all about age! Sent from my DROID BIONIC using Tapatalk 2
  17. Grow, from my experiences the deer absolutely love golden rod. Especially big bucks. The best days I have found to hunt over it are when the sun is out or when we have gotten a fresh coating of snow. I can't even count the amount of bucks we have shot driving golden rod fields during shotgun. Best of luck! Sent from my DROID BIONIC using Tapatalk 2
  18. Had the shooter I have been after all year show up finally this morning. Was with 4 does and worked with them back to the bedding area around 730....40 yds in the thick stuff, never presented a clear shot. Saw a thick beamed 8 but never came closer then 100. Had 5 different bucks come within ten yards but were all 1.5- 2.5 yr olds. Two of them were fighting in the corn, and then came back into the hardwoods and one of them had a corn stalk stuck to his antler. So much grunting it was unreal. One of those days we dream of. I have a family thing tonight so had to get down at noon. It's killing me with the spot being so hot!! I'll be out in the am to brave the wind! Sent from my DROID BIONIC using Tapatalk 2
  19. I can deal with 10-15 mph winds if they are a steady from the north ,south etc. I actually prefer a little wind because you know what direction your scent is going and doesn't swirl like it would with a lower wind. But I agree ,countless times this year you get a gust out of the NE out of no where, or it shifts from one direction to another..very frustrating
  20. I wonder how the LaCrosse Aeroheads are that they just came out with. They have been marketing them like crazy......
  21. My muck Arctic pros just cracked open where your toes bend last week. I had them a year and half so out of warranty now. I'm very rough on boots between bow season, driving during shotgun, and predator hunting till March but I expected a little longer life out of them. Mucks aren't built as well now as they were when they were first introduced. I just picked up a pair of the new under armour spinex boots with line-x coating. A little more $$ then Mucks but We'll see how they hold up!!! Sent from my DROID BIONIC using Tapatalk 2
  22. Awful.....Looks like a older Steel Force BH to me.
  23. I agree Saturday should be equally impressive, a lot of big deer have been taken when high winds suddenly subside. I was just excited at the thought of snow Sunday morning, we don't seem to get that very often during bow season anymore!
