  6. sorry just a younger brother.Did I mention she sat thru hunter and bow hunter Ed to hunt with me twice before signing over hers dmp's! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. I know she is awesome and works from home 75% of the time, the trade off has been about a week a month of cross country and sometimes international travel. Couldn't hunt last week from sun-thurs because she was in RI and I'm day/nightcare for our son, but that was the last trip of 2013. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Love my wife and her super flexible job, just got the word that I have permission to hunt this afternoon. I'll be out the door at 1:30, out of the truck by 2 and slowly stalking my way to this years best stand....no coincidence it's good for heavy S, SSW wind. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. I'm in 7f & 7j and my sightings are way down from last year but that hasn't stopped me from filling 5 tags and I'll be out every chance I get to fill the 2 NY tags I have left, not to mention dmfa in January and NJ in February...this is mid-season. One thing that was mentioned is that when you believe there are no deer it's hard to stay focused and hunt right. When I hunt on edge as if deer are right around the corner it goes by faster, I have more focus, and I actually see more deer. Even if they were nowhere near range that is the kind of encouragement i need to keep me hunting on edge. There are very few places in NY or the Northeast for that matter that are not overpopulated with deer. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Gotta head in and do the daddy daycare...might sneak out around noon for another backyard pine sit while the boy is napping. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. no prob, nice thick immature hard woods butted up against those evergreens...not your first time to the rodeo, nice stand selection. All you need now is some brown horizontal objects moving thru all those verticals. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Sorry taptalk settings...after you hit the reply button it's the little button box with three dots on it Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. I like regs but I'm also from pa and it has been shooting light easy for 20 mins, and I still have a minute to wait here. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. in settings change photo from taptalk to attachment.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Keep at it you'll score. With this cold and snow on the ground you know they are on their feet more and likely on their way to or fro a good protein source. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  17. In settings, change from tap talk to attachment. Sucks so many of you guys have been dealing with trespassers. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Only 17% of dmp's get filled. I think red tags are more likely to have a local impact on a deer heard than any other legal manner of taking. I find it more likely that unfavorable weather, acres and acres of late standing corn, and a huge acorn, beech-nut, and apple mast resulted in less daytime movement. 19. Pine trees stands really do provide great thermal cover... Not too bad out here now. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. I don't use rubber gloves but i can see your point. The adrenaline of the harvest and the inside of a deer have heated me up enough to gut and drag in temps like these before. It's the thought of getting to do it in the snow again that gets me out there. Also I say a dry 20's is better than a wet 40's. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. I was thinking of hitting a nearby public spot, but that buck sighting this morning was encouraging so I'll just head to the pine stand out back again instead...less time in the elements, much shorter drag if I get one. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. My favorite thing to see besides deer is raptors plucking lunch out of trees.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. Gonna stick it out fir 15 more minutes, then it's venison sausage time. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. Decent buck jut cruised thru at 75 yds, grunted but he was on a mission. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
