  1. Thats why I hunt in NJ. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. No Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Again I don't mind that people don't fill all their tags...I don't like the idea of guys trying to manipulate the system to prevent other hunters from legally taking doe that might otherwise be road kill or red tag fodder.
  4. I understand hedging your bet with tags from different units. Also I think it's your choice alone to determine how many deer you need to harvest. Would you transfer your remaining dmp to someone who could legally use it? I don't like guys who buy them with no intention of filling any. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Light rain and no antlers... Got to relieve my sick wife of child care duty shortly. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Agreed.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Again I don't care if people pass...but there is often a lot of venom from the trophy crowd.
  8. Exactly why I fill every one. I have heard of guys reporting fake doe harvests to try to lower dmp #s for the next year.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Does like most female mammals are always either eating for 3 or have 2 little ones in tow. Bucks hide until night and then feed happily. If they are out in daylight it's probably rut so they are acting stupid. I would say fooling a mature doe with 4 or 6 extra eyes is a bit of a challenge. I'd like to hear a woman's opinion. 10. Another 3 big does 100 yds behind me...where are the bucks...yet to see 1 in daylight on this property. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. In my 7f lease Ridgetop by 6:35. 6:45 1 long doe walks right to my waist pack full of ziploked scents at the base of my tree. Looked up and spooked a bit, but then just moseyed on her way...come on buck! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. I pretty much pass only yearling bucks on public land and yearling and 2 yr bucks on my private lease and other private land I hunt. I select by age class by aging on the hoof not antlers. If others choose to pass (and let someone else get a crack) that's fine but I shoot does early and often (as is recommended by QDMA) as long as I have the tags. Only 17% of DMPs get filled according to DEC. I filled all my antler less and 2 transferred tags, so I went to Ithaca and shot a doe in the Tompkins Deer Management Focus Area. Mmm venison. 13. Hco Panda Blackflash MMS and a Plotwatcher Pro. Next year I'm bumping up to a Covert MMS...realtime text pics are a must. I like my panda for this but battery life and flash range are better with covert for a little more chedda. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Wife ended up feeling crappy again so I stayed home watched my boy and butchered another half deer. She took off tomorrow so I am most likely gonna sneak out for the am sit. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. A sharp-shinned hawk looks likes a little Cooper's hawk.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Wife out of work sick but feeling better letting me out for the pm sit at the lease...come on bucks! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. On my way to the grocer I spotted many deer in groups of 2-3 in ag fields...this was like 7:15am. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Probably an American Kestral...they are less than 1/2 the size of most other raptors. Kestrels and redtail hawks are the 2 raptors a novice falconer may trap and train here in NY. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. It's a fun game, besides I think the racks have to dry a period before the score is official... Whatever it is its a great buck, congrats again. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Good luck...hope you get out again tho!Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Sweet harvest, 125" - 130" Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. Can't hunt (besides outback) until Thursday or Friday...can't tell my body that I'm up at 4:30...about to be "live from the grocery store" once it opens. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Wow, nice work! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
