Great conditions, even got the moon about underfoot as the sun goes down. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Here comes the 7j snow hopefully it sticks and keeps coming. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

They should make tiny luxury campers you can hunt right out of and haul with an atv! Whole new meaning to sleeping in your stand, like overnight...talk about a silent morning approach, how about no approach. I may have to mod a little motorcycle camper. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Still no snow in 7j...hung a stand inside a huge pine in my backyard hedgerow...hoping for an evening ambush. Heading out to sit in about 30 mins. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I know that area well...by wind gap or Lehigh? Also I'd say your grandpa knew hunter behavior pretty well. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Back in the treestand after a short stalk around the Ridgetop. Wind has really started to die down here for now. Gonna do another hour in the tree then head in to do lunch with my family before hunting out back behind the house in the snowfall this pm. Dreaming of a venison sausage and sunny side up hoagie...I'll settle for tenderloins if one gets in range. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Got cold enough that the shivers made me have to get down to pee...now that I'm down...first still hunt of the year! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Quite a few shots nearby... I'm ready! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I've got 5 so far, gave 1.5 away to family. 2 tags left plenty of room left in the chest freezer. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I agree ground blinds seem the most dangerous in gun season, someone fooled by the Camo at distance could believe they know their target and beyond only to hit a Camo tent.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Sorry to hear about your lack of forecasted snow...latest forecast up here (7j, 7f) has 3-6" by Sunday morning. I hunt in a bear heavy area in Pa, my dad has harvested bear and deer from the same stand 3 different seasons. Last year we took four deer and a bear out of our camp from October-december. With the high wind sunday I will probably abandon my treestands for the first time this season...I'll only still hunt my private lease. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I actually hunt pa opener in the Delaware State Forest, its pretty busy that day, but its rare to see another hunter by our cabin besides those in our party. I have had intimidation games played on me by people surrounding the Craig rd parcel of spafford forest here in 7j...4 wheelers doing loops, running chainsaws cutting nothing, my tire slashed in the parking lot. Remembered why I don't hunt from tree stands
Meat Manager replied to cdmckane's topic in Deer Hunting
If you don't like that don't try a climber with no shooting rail like my summit open shot. In terms of mobility and quiet it's my favorite stand. Conquered my fear of heights thru the passion of whitetail hunting. The advantages of an elevated stand are innumerable. That said I have real admiration for guys who harvest from the ground, especially some of these guys on here with primitive bow set ups scoring deer from only 10 FEET away. Rain died down but zero seen, first time skunked since the corn came down. I'm looking forward to tomorrow morning and the snowy weekend. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Walder, I only still hunt private property I'm 99.9% sure I'm alone on and I wear a lot of Orange-Camo. Jennifer, think warm thoughts. In extreme cold I go wick layer, thermal layer, scentlok baseslayer, fleece vest, insulated bibs, insulated coat, neck gator, fleece hat, smartwool socks (wicking & wool hunting) and hothands brand warmers behind my neck and under my toes. Whatever you do don't constrict yourself with too many tight layers, and don't use bootwarmers unless you have roomy boots. Good circulation is key. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
