  1. You guys must not be familiar with the poconos. That's my family's home hunting turf and the combination of ski resorts, casinos, Lake Wallanpaupac (as well as tons of minor lakes), Delaware state forest and the close proximity to NYC and Philly (1.5 hrs or less), $1 million for that much contiguous acreage is not unreasonable. My grandfathers buddy has a similar property in Lakeville in the poconos...it's got about a 30 acre lake on it though... Best and biggest crappies I've ever caught (14"+). My pop was with him the day he bought it at auction in 1975...$50,000 cash. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Last night my brother and I reset my Barronett Grounder 250 at the bottom of my Diamond warm season plot: Left side: Front: I'll be there with bow madness tomorrow and Saturday mornings...should have been there this morning for all of the action: Here is a link to my food plot progress: http://huntingny.com/forums/index.php?/topic/22241-First-Plots/page__view__findpost__p__304411 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Thought I'd do a before and after on my plots so far: Planted the Logging Trail Utility Plot 04/14: 05/28: Started working on the Diamond Forage Plot 04/14: Planted 05/08: 05/28: Started work on the Boomerang Forage Plot 05/08: Planted 05/15: 05/28: Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Thanks so far I've been lucky to plant with well timed and properly forecasted weather. Now that all the warm season stuff is established it is up to Mother Nature to continue to cooperate. The local long range forecast of mild temps and little to no rain looks good for my early summer lakeside activities...I just hope there's enough moisture at the lease to keep everything green. 5. Those of you righteously crusading to make sure gods will be done: Thou shall not restrict clip capacity or tactical aesthetics!!!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. By the way what part of the media do you consider your website?Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Again I know you all are god warriors on the side of goodness and right so I will abstain from continuing to point out your all-day everyday hypocrisy. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Attention seeker...that's rich coming from a guy with 8700 posts on a hunting forum and not one live from the stand report or harvest post in years.Atleast this is keeping mikes informative thread at the top of the timeline for a change...sorry about this mike, I'm done. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. You guys have been waiting for engagement on the issue since the story hit, and I did not hear any anti-gun stuff until you guys started searching it out.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Huh...I'm just calling you out specifically for posting discouraging comments in the same 24hr period that you twice called other members "whining thumb suckers" for having the same attitude on a different topic nearer to your cranky old heart.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Is that a threat? You spew crap into the air all day and night and sometimes you get busted being a big fat hypocrite. Mike posts these awesome informative link/document driven threads that get almost no play while many of you guys jack each other over who hates the gov more. Then you finally post on one to tell him, "nice try kid." Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Your just the other extreme using the same tragedy.Everyone always thinks they have god or good on their side. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. I'm not trying to jack this thread, but you lament others for having discouraging attitudes and then you turn around and have one.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Do you hypocrites even realize you started politicizing this thing the moment it happened?Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Mike I gotta say I try to like each one of your informative posts, you are a beacon of reason, discourse and sanity in a wilderness of delusion and hyperbole. Thanks.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Doc, Aren't you currently flaming 2 other members on one of the thousand safe act threads about this very defeatist attitude you are giving Mike?http://huntingny.com/forums/index.php?/topic/22790-the-tide-is-turning/page__view__findpost__p__303727 http://huntingny.com/forums/index.php?/topic/22790-the-tide-is-turning/page__view__findpost__p__303764 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Lots of opinions, gonna have to field test some for yourself. That said I go Rage 2 blade... I switched to them last season and harvested 5 deer with my bow. Here is a review I did on the ENTRY wounds of the first four I harvested last season: http://huntingny.com/forums/index.php?/topic/19672-Rage-2-Blade-Entry-Wounds/page__view__findpost__p__254182 I would not recommend for turkeys unless you are taking neck shots...though I did harvest a Tom with them this spring. 18. Yeah hippie victims probably deserved it...can the bodies get cold before you politicize this.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Wait, so you were predicting doom and gloom based on one controversial facet of bear management being excluded? That is so unlike you to get hung up on one point, predict gloom and beat it to death for 30 pages. The dec is constantly tweaking management plans...let's see how it goes before we start ducking bits of falling sky. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Over generalized and knee-jerk.They are opening it up reasonably in most places and concentrating more specifically in others. If they have the extreme problems that exist in NJ then baiting during a dedicated season in those areas would be fine....obviously the DEC does not think that is necessary as it is not being adopted in the new plan. Thanks for the discussion, I'm now removing tapatalk from my phone for a few hours to avoid rehashing the same thing for 30 pages...you're welcome hny members. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Doc...I'm not gonna go back and forth with you for days on this...this is it:If that was the case then baiting deer would be acceptable here as well. Bear hunting is a skill like deer hunting...it only seems like incidental in NY because they run it concurrent with deer season. Again PA has as many black bears as western NY and easily manages them fair chase with a dedicated season. That is one thing that has been proposed here, a dedicated bear season. NJ, tons of suburban bear contact so baiting is appropriate...not a lot of black bear complaints in WNY...downstate is a different matter. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. All of mine stay in the woods 365, where they belong. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. I'm happy to be nourishing big mamma right before she pops: Time stamp is slow 30 mins. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
