Yeah I'm not even sure if I'll be on this property again next year so I'm only looking into winter as far as hunting season goes.Like I said there is hundreds of acres of ag around so they'll stay fed...hopefully a few will stay put on my property through the season. Let me know if you ever need any help with doe removal, ha. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Man I was just feeling envious of your nutritional plots when the landowner of my lease called. He asked if I "minded" if a farmer friend of his uses the 4 acre empty field at the west boundary that I left out of my lease to plant corn... I said...uh, yeah, can I hunt over it? "Oh yeah, just you." I said that'll be more than fine. Now my deer have a corn alternative "on" my property as opposed to the adjacent farm lot with all the north boundary wall tree stands. Moreover I've got nearly 20% of my acreage in corn and 3-5% on 3 smaller interior kill plots. I'm loving those ratios. Fingers crossed for good weather throughout the growing season! I'd assume WGF then...I guess you'll know if it grows as tall as corn.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Are you using regular grain sorghum or WGF with those peas? I'm planting the WGF/peas combo in a few weeks. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

We live on Otisco...the bass jump in the boat right up until the season opens, ha! There is a tournament here on the opener...I haven't participated in a few years but my little 28 month old son is starting to fish so I'm sure we will be starting to get more involved in the coming years. Thanks Wooly, I wish I had the skills to walk up and hug wild critters the way you do!I had a wild start, flung a few arrows, scored a solid 2yr old with BM and then...almost no action. That's how the season typically gets I guess, progressively harder...they should give bonus pts in the contest for any bird harvested after May 5th...ha! I'll be back for the final round tomorrow AM...is it whitetail season anywhere yet? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Back in the blind overlooking the Diamond...gonna sit here for the duration: Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Moved through my logging trail plot slow and purred and clucked the whole way: Got a silent bird to circle me as soon as a sat down but he hung up and I did not have a good place to conceal myself quietly. So I proceeded toward my boomerang plot which is a week behind the diamond in growth: I'm set up pretty nice here and back to some clucks and purrs and the occasional yelp. None seen nor heard yet. I am enjoying watching the sun turn the dew on my food plot into steam. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

"Why doesn't NY have a dove season?"
Meat Manager replied to mike rossi's topic in Small Game and Predator Hunting
Safe Act, never heard of it (can you go 1 hr without bringing it up)?Uninformed opinions are worse than no opinion at all...just because you have an opinion doesn't make it valid. In fact those with the loudest most extreme opinions have actually just borrowed them from talking heads at Fox News or MSNBC. Two companies who generate revenue by fanning flames of discontent. Facts like statistics/documents and contacting reliable sources for confirmation trumps opinions all day (again, thanks Mike for providing this type of content). That's the problem with message boards and society as a whole today...everyone thinks their gut-felt or tv-taught opinion is equivalent to the word of god. Set in my blind overlooking my diamond shaped food plot of buckwheat, peas and clovers at my 7j lease. 45 clear and calm. Man it's bright early! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

My great uncle did it for 30+ years...I picked it up a few years back, it's fairly simple to learn but much harder to master the advanced techniques. I'd go with an entry level power wrapper...I also get my blanks and other gear from www.mudhole.com Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

136 Acres for Sale in Northeastern PA

The point is if you live and work in those cities you are only 1.5 hours from your property...straight shots on big highways. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

If you are judging the poconos on "beautiful mt. airy lodge" and champagne glass hot tubs then your references are out of date. I would go to the Mohegan in CT over the one in the poconos as well but there are so many other big draws it is ridiculous. My cabin is in the Delaware state forest which is also in Pike county. Finally check the numbers but heroine is the new molly...it's back everywhere in a big way and as the article indicates that is stimulated by a decade of pharm-made dope in the street. Not sure what that has to do with hunting or fishing property. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

The Delaware State Forest alone is over 85,000 acres of undeveloped land with the densest population of whitetails in PA...and everything north of I 84 is the boonies.I can tell you my grandfathers friend's property which is about the same size as the OP with a bigger lake is a sportsmans paradise with many bears, whitetails, turkeys, lg mouth bass, perch, panfish...and not a neighbor for miles. You better believe its worth atleast a few million. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

Well never-mind then...I guess the traffic from Rockaway on 80 W to 402 N by Marshall's Creek is swamped with ghost vehicles every weekend? What a self-important chump...ofcourse you don't frequent the Poconos, not enough hand-holding pay kills available there. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
I'll be making a smaller man powered (or maybe dog) version of this for my summer plantings... Thanks!Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

As a short term Airforce brat long term FAA brat I was: Born in Jersey, lived in half a dozen states before age 3...my 1st lil brother was born in Tacoma, WA 2 weeks after Mt St Helens erupted. I remember snowplows moving inches of volcanic ash. Lived in Cny a few early school years, raised primarily in eastern PA and now back in NY where I graduated college many years ago. I've also circumnavigated the continental US twice in my 20s and spent time in the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Bermuda, PR, DR, VI, Mexico and most recently the Italian and Austrian Alps. After all that I will say that NY is a fine place to live...the Finger Lakes region where I reside is my favorite place in the world. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Yes planning seems to be best done by weather/ground conditions which doesn't always line up with work, kids, travel, etc...I got lucky with a nearby lease this season...although it has it's own headaches to deal with. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I was not trying to be snarky sorry if it sounded that way I really just meant that I haven't got a clue what people charge to do it. Sounds like gman has a better idea about that, and those prices seem reasonable. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I am not using farm/4wd equipment and I've done it all myself so I have no sense of cost; however I am planting my own mixed crops. I have buckwheat, peas and clover on my spring planted warm season plots now. I'm gonna turn that over in early July and plant WGF Sorghum and peas on half of my plots and then a little later plant clover/brass on the other halves. http://huntingny.com/forums/index.php?/topic/22241-First-Plots/page__view__findpost__p__304411 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
