An honest assessment of Islam

The solution was stated by the Lt Col. in the first video. You can go back and watch it again. The man knows what he is talking about and wants to save your life, even if you don't think it needs to be saved. -

I have to wonder if some of you know how many gun laws are already on the books in this country? Laws that were passed because some gun owners just thought they were "reasonable". Laws that infringe on your 2nd Amendment rights with impunity until they can finally be dragged in front of the SCOTUS. Washington D.C. suffered under an unconstitutional gun ban for 30 years. People died because of it. The SCOTUS finally reversed that law and once and for all made it clear to all in America that the 2nd Amendment is an individual, not a collective, right. A man in NJ was sentenced to 7 years in prison because a judge didn't understand a gun law and thought he was guilty. Thank God the new Governor Chris Christie let him out. These attacks on law abiding gun owners happen every day with entire collections being confiscated because the laws are too convoluted to understand. And they have no effect on criminals or crime. So if you think you don't need a group like the NRA to defend your 2nd Amendment rights, you are seriously uninformed and naive. Gun banners are not going to stop trying and they are not going away. I'm just amazed that there are people who don't understand this among us in the hunting community. -

It doesn't matter what I, or you, think. This country is at war. The government knows it, and the enemy knows it. The future of America is in serious jeopardy because many of it's citizens don't realize it. That gives the enemy the upper hand. To call a 20 year Combat Army Colonel ignorant, or any older person in America who has lived through attacks on America by terrorists since Reagan was president, is rude and shows a total lack of reality and sense. Just because you have never seen people celebrate Islamic attacks on America, doesn't mean it did not happen. I saw it. In Jersey City, Hoboken, West NY and Weehawken on 9/11/01. The media was told by authorities not to show it on TV for fear the rest of the citizens in the area would demand we round them all up and deport them, or worse. I was a firefighter in 2001 and I saw it with my own eyes. I saw plenty more after that too and I know what I'm talking about. I have many nephews and nieces who were, or are, in the service too. They have seen much more than I, and though they are young, they are not of the mindset we are seeing from other people of their generation in this tread. It saddens me to think of all the veterans who fought and died for the freedom we so cherish in America, never knowing that it would one day be used to tear the country down and bring it to an end, by a generation of citizens who had everything handed to them without earning it. If this is the mindset of the next generation of Americans who will run this country, this society, and this country, are doomed. -

So we should all agree to turn America over to the rest of the world and fade away into history in disgrace. I guess all American's go through the young and stupid phase. Especially with the Liberal Left occupying most of the teaching positions in the schools and Universities these days. Life will teach you reality in the future, believe me. -

Talk about ignorant. Did you miss Fort Hood? The Times Square Bombing Attempt? The Portland Oregon Attempt? You have your head in the sand buddy. they haven't stopped. Did you hear Obama last night? he even mentioned how many plots have been foiled in the last year. Are you that foolish? The US committed an act of terrorism on Japan? What history classes did you take? That's to stupid to even warrant a response. I don't align myself with any political party, but if you were referring to Republicans, you must've missed the last election. They won big time! Thanks for playing. : -

There are an estimated 120 million gun owners in America. There are 6 million NRA members. That is a huge voting block to a man running for President. 95% of Americans have no idea what's happening in America today. They don't know who there elected officials are or what bills they are proposing either. That doesn't make them informed or involved. The government prefers a populace that is just fat, dumb and happy, and that includes 115 million gun owners who haven't got a clue. -

Growalot, those compensation figures you posted are not just salary numbers. They are total compensation numbers including all benefits and expenses. Don't think for one minute these men couldn't double their income in the private sector working in a for profit organization. Have you seen the salaries corporate CEO's of private companies, half the size of the NRA, earn? -

Never mention Libertarians at all. Just explaining the conservative view. Abortions are funded with tax dollars. That effects all American's taxes and forces them to pay for something they may be morally opposed to. -

They have the same right to practice their religion as anybody else. But I don't know of any other religion that is being given a pass for killing people. That's not being a hypocrite, that's demanding accountability. Better that misguided Americans are ashamed of me for my opinion, than American's wind up dead because they were in denial. Thank God there are still enough people in this country that want to keep it from falling into oblivion. Extremism in defense of liberty is no vice. -

What conservatives object to is government or society promoting liberalism and lifestyles that will infringe on our taxes. This country has, for too long, misused tax money to provide for lifestyles and programs that have no ability to sustain themselves. Therefore they are infringing on the freedoms of the rest of America's citizens. That is not smaller government, that is government mandating and forcing it's will on it's subjects. The list of forced spending runs from abortion to welfare. It is not sustainable, even in a socialist society, and will ruin the country. The fantasy vision can not stand up to factual reality. -

Freedom of religion doesn't include the right to kill people of other religions. It is not hypocritical to call for their exile. If you feel guilty about the plight of native American's, find one and give him all of your property. -

If you are not an NRA member, you are not in the fight and are taking advantage of others fighting for your right to own a firearm. Only 5% of gun owners are in the NRA. That, to me, generally reflects the apathy of the general population as a whole, regarding any issue that affects their lives. If you own a firearm and care about your right to do so, but attack the NRA at the same time, you are a tool of the anti gun groups and might as well send them your money. I firmly believe for most gun owners, not being a member of the NRA is a money issue. These gun owners don't see the benefits the NRA provides them. They need to get some instant gratification for their dues, like a knife or a jacket, in order to feel they are getting some value. They don't have a clue that their gun rights hang by a thread in America, the only country left in the world where true gun rights still exist, in spite of all of the efforts by enemies, foreign and domestic, to eliminate them. The only thing in America that prevents all gun rights from vanishing is the huge voting block of gun owners that belong to the NRA. Elected officials know we vote, and we vote pro-gun. The rest of Americas gun owner's may vote, but how they vote is not certain. For me, associating with a non-NRA gun owner in any type of gun activity, is like working with a co-worker that refuses to lift his end of the log. I have no use for him, and to me he is worthless. -

News Flash for ya buddy, I'm a Lifer for years now. I have not sent them any money in years and they don't make me pay any. they hardly ever ask me for any. What they ask me to do is vote or write letters to idiot legislators that are trying to pass laws that take my rights away. They send me factual articles and info on pending legislation. Real legislation. Legislation that would effect every gun owner in America. If not for NRA members, their voting clout and their willingness to fight, the 2nd Amendment would've been repealed a long time ago. Nothing irks me more than gun owners disrespecting the NRA and my fight for their gun rights. As far as your theory about the NRA seeking profits, the NRA is a non-profit group. People who work for non-profits forgo higher salaries for the less tangible benefits offered by public advocacy. Non-profit organizations are closely regulated by the Internal Revenue Service. Time to become a member and stop mooching off their efforts. -

Finally, an honest assessment by a politician who knows what he is talking about. This new Congressman was an extremely popular commander in Iraq. He was forced to retire because during an intense combat action a few of his men were captured. At the same time his men had captured one of the guys who were with the Iraqis who captured his men. Knowing that time was crucial and his interrogators were not getting anywhere with the prisoner COL West took matters into his own hands. He burst into the room and demanded through an interpreter that the prisoner tell him where his men were being taken. The prisoner refused so COL West took out his pistol and placed it into the prisoner's crotch and fired. Then the COL told the prisoner that the next shot would not miss. So the prisoner said he would show where the American service members were being taken. The Americans were rescued. Some one filed a report on incorrect handling of prisoners. COL West was forced to retire. COL West was just elected in November 2010 to Congress from Florida. During the elections he was part of a panel on how to handle or how to relate to Muslims. You will see his answer here. Here is one of the new congressmen from Florida explaining very definitively in just over a minute the truth about Islam. Please watch. http://secure.afa.net/afa/activism/takeaction.asp?id=384 -
Both nice if you can afford them. By the way, use good quality steel bases and rings on that shotgun. Aluminum isn't strong enough to prevent problems with accuracy on a 12 gauge slug gun, no matter how good the scope is.

Where in the 2nd Amendment does it say you can only bear arms you need? Who decides need? Remember the LA riots? Remember the guy who saved his store from hoods because he was standing on the roof, ALONE, with an AK-47 and a 30 round magazine? I think he was in need of it, don't you? Most of the businesses there were looted and burned to the ground. The current assault weapons bills are written so they can ban plenty of hunting rifles. Maybe you have never read them. Look at England. You can't own any type of semi-auto rifle or shotgun there. That's what anti gunners want here. If the sheet ever hits the fan in America because terrorists set off a nuke in NYC and all hell breaks lose in the country, you will soon see the need for 30 round magazines and semi-auto weapons. There will be marauding packs of gang members in the streets taking anything they want from anyone who doesn't have one, I can assure you of that. Full auto would be better, but good luck with getting one. But don't worry the authorities will have plenty of full auto weapons that they can use against you at that time. No one in America needs a JAP race bike that will do 180 MPH or a Z06 Corvette either, especially when speed limits don't exceed 70 MPH. Should we ban those too? I'll decide what I need, thank you. That's called freedom! If you were an NRA member and read the information they send out to keep you informed about anti gun measures, maybe you wouldn't have such a cavalier attitude about what gun owners need in America. And if you think the 2nd Amendment is all you need to keep your guns, be advised, the 2nd Amendment can be repealed! Don't think it never happened before. Remember prohibition? Gun owners who don't think they are threatened, or who feel more bans are OK, or who don't like the NRA are, in my extremist view, nothing! And they are sure as heck no use to me, or any gun owner who cares about freedom. Either they are too scared to fight, or don't even know they are in one. -
Aren't we all Americans?
Mr VJP replied to Caveman's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
We all live in America, but not all who live here have America's best interests at heart. It's not the political parties that are the problem, it's the agenda they adopt and try to force upon the rest of us against our will. Some of us like Freedom and some like Socialism. I don't see how you can ever expect those two ideals to ever get along. The Constitution is the law that is supposed to guide our law makers. But many of them don't know it or understand it. Many laws are implemented that take decades to overturn in the SCOTUS. A lot of people are getting very tired of the constant assault on America by people who want to "Change" it. We like it the way it is and want it to stay that way. The conflict in America is between people who want to save America and people who want to change it into something that can only be called "The country formally know as America!" If you don't like something, don't do it. But if you try to stop someone else from doing something perfectly legal that they like to do, you are not an American, you are anti-American. I could go on, but I'll sum it up here. I am angry with anti-Americans and have no tolerance for stupidity. -
I put as Nikon Pro Staff on my Savage 210F slug gun and have no complaints. The Redfield Revolution 2x7 is another good choice. It's made by Leupold in Oregon and has the Unlimited Lifetime Warranty.

Winston, come into the dining room, its time to eat, Julia yelled to her husband. In a minute, honey, its a tie score, he answered. Actually Winston wasn't very interested in the traditional holiday football game between Detroit and Washington . Ever since the government passed the Civility in Sports Statute of 2017, outlawing tackle football for its unseemly violence and the bad example it sets for the rest of the world, Winston was far less of a football fan than he used to be. Two-hand touch wasn't nearly as exciting. Yet it wasn't the game that Winston was uninterested in. It was more the thought of eating another Tofu Turkey. Even though it was the best type of Veggie Meat available after the government revised the American Anti-Obesity Act of 2018, adding fowl to the list of federally-forbidden foods, (which already included potatoes, cranberry sauce and mince-meat pie), it wasn't anything like real turkey. And ever since the government officially changed the name of Thanksgiving Day to A National Day of Atonement in 2020, to officially acknowledge the Pilgrims historically brutal treatment of Native Americans, the holiday had lost a lot of its luster. Eating in the dining room was also a bit daunting. The unearthly gleam of government-mandated fluorescent light bulbs made the Tofu Turkey look even weirder than it actually was, and the room was always cold. Ever since Congress passed the Power Conservation Act of 2016, mandating all thermostatswhich were monitored and controlled by the electric company be kept at 68 degrees, every room on the north side of the house was barely tolerable throughout the entire winter. Still, it was good getting together with family. Or at least most of the family. Winston missed his mother, who passed on in October, when she had used up her legal allotment of life-saving medical treatment. He had had many heated conversations with the Regional Health Consortium, spawned when the private insurance market finally went bankrupt, and everyone was forced into the government health care program. And though he demanded she be kept on her treatment, it was a futile effort. The RHCs resources are limited, explained the government bureaucrat Winston spoke with on the phone. Your mother received all the benefits to which she was entitled. Im sorry for your loss. Ed couldn't make it either. He had forgotten to plug in his electric car last night, the only kind available after the Anti-Fossil Fuel Bill of 2021 outlawed the use of the combustion engines for everyone but government officials. The fifty mile round trip was about ten miles too far, and Ed didn't want to spend a frosty night on the road somewhere between here and there. Thankfully, Winstons brother, John, and his wife were flying in. Winston made sure that the dining room chairs had extra cushions for the occasion. No one complained more than John about the pain of sitting down so soon after the government - mandated cavity searches at airports, which severely aggravated his hemorrhoids. Ever since a terrorist successfully smuggled a cavity bomb onto a jetliner, the TSA told Americans the added inconvenience was an absolute necessity in order to stay one step ahead of the terrorists. Winstons own body had grown accustomed to such probing ever since the government expanded their scope to just about anywhere a crowd gathered, via the Anti-Profiling Act of 2022. That law made it a crime to single out any group or individual for unequal scrutiny, even when probable cause was involved. Thus, cavity searches at malls, train stations, bus depots, etc., etc., had become almost routine. Almost. The Supreme Court is reviewing the statute, but most Americans expect a Court composed of six 'progressives' and three conservatives to leave the law intact. A living Constitution is extremely flexible, said the Courts eldest member, Elena Kagan. Europe has had laws like this one for years. We should learn from their example, she added. Winstons thoughts turned to his own children. He got along fairly well with his 12-year-old daughter, Brittany, mostly because she ignored him. Winston had long ago surrendered to the idea that she could text anyone at any time, even during Atonement Dinner. Their only real confrontation had occurred when he limited her to 50,000 texts a month, explaining that was all he could afford. She whined for a week, but got over it. His 16-year-old son, Jason, was another matter altogether. Perhaps it was the constant bombarding he got in public school that global warming, the bird flu, terrorism or any of a number of other calamities were just around the corner, but Jason had developed a kind of nihilistic attitude that ranged between simmering surliness and outright hostility. It didn't help that Jason had reported his father to the police for smoking a cigarette in the house, an act made criminal by the Smoking Control Statute of 2018, which outlawed smoking anywhere within 500 feet of another human being. Winston paid the $5,000 fine, which might have been considered excessive before the American dollar became virtually worthless as a result of QE13. The latest round of quantitative easing the federal government initiated was, once again, to spur economic growth. This time they promised to push unemployment below its years-long rate of 18%, but Winston was not particularly hopeful. Yet the family had a lot for which to be thankful, Winston thought, before remembering it was a Day of Atonement. At least he had his memories. He felt a twinge of sadness when he realized his children would never know what life was like in the Good Old Days, long before government promises to make life fair for everyone so all might realize their full potential. Winston, like so many of his fellow Americans, never realized how much things could change when they didn't happen all at once, but little by little, so people could get used to them. He wondered what might have happened if the public had stood up while there was still time, maybe back around 2009, when all the real nonsense began. Maybe we wouldn't be where we are today if wed just said enough is enough when we had the chance, he thought. Maybe so, Winston. Maybe so.

I have Marlin lever action rifles in both .30-30 and .35 Rem. I put a nice little Leupold 2.5X scope on the .35 Rem because it's an older model with a very small rear sight blade, and my old eyes are not as good as they were. Great classic Upstate N Y deer rifles! -

I've never thought optimism is a good idea. Pragmatism seems a better philosophy. Here's a little story to show why. There once was a man who was eternally optimistic. So much so, he jumped off the Empire State building in front of a large crowd, all the way down yelling, "So Far, So Good!"
