  1. How did you ship it? Was it insured? if it went via USPS you may have a mail fraud case and can prove he received it if it was insured. I would never send anything without getting the money first. Give them a grace period to look it over. If they don't want it, when they send it back in the same condition it was in, I return their money.
  2. This is an ominous development that should scare the crap out of every American. http://www.thefederalistpapers.org/us/ag-announces-global-police-force-to-patrol-american-cities
  3. It's an agenda, and it's only going to get worse. Better keep our eyes open.
  4. I wouldn't put anything out there the deer are not used to at this point. Better to just find a good size tree to stand by. It breaks up your outline. Or find some natural cover to use. I sometimes find some ground cover I can get into and still shoot out of. Just stand still or take a seat on a stool and use your ears more than your eyes if it requires moving your head. Good camo will work, just be aware of the way the wind is carrying your scent since you're on the ground. Keep it simple. Complicating things can just cause problems. Good Luck!
  5. Great story. It has been said we learn nothing from our success, especially if it is just because of luck. You have learned something of value and your skills will become better because of it. Overall, I'd say you did far better on your first hunt than most new hunters do. Now, are you confident you can field dress the deer that you will surely be killing soon?
  6. It's dangerous to be a thinking man Ideas are more powerful than guns. We would not let our enemies have guns, why should we let them have ideas. Joseph Stalin
  7. I say let them shut it down. “No man's life, liberty, or property are safe while the legislature is in session.” ― Mark Twain And that most certainly applies to your firearms.
  8. I appreciate that WNY. If it's not too much to ask, why was the thread about the college shootings not also moved, as it appears to have all of the same qualities to it. I understand you can move any thread you want, but why not that one too?
  9. They may have that right, but selective enforcement of that right is still wrong! it is certainly what it is, and all who are OK with it, or are resigned to it, can accept it. My objection stands.
  10. You make my point for me exactly. If you read the whole thread, and look at my posts this is what you would see. Why was the "bashing" post moved when the posts on the Oregon College shootings, which contain "Gun Control and Politicians" as well as some negativity from members attacking other members, not moved? The post that was moved was not about politics, though the discussion was derailed in that direction. The college post is political from the start. All I want to know is what criteria is being used to move a post to the Politics forum, since there seems to be some selective enforcement of the policy being used. If my posts are getting special attention from mods, or other members are reporting my posts asking they be moved, man up and admit it. I'll just put all of my posts there from now on then. Is that too much to ask of the moderator that moved it?
  11. Well, the only person who can supply the facts about the decision to move the thread doesn't seem to feel it requires a reply. That really should tell everyone here something. Look, I did not address this issue because it was my post. I’m addressing it because I believe it is wrong. If it happened to any of you, I would not defend the action of the site. I’d protest the wrongness of the decision just as much, because I believe it to be the wrong decision. Now if you disagree, try to extrapolate a little regarding what you are agreeing to. Your posts can be arbitrarily moved, or even deleted, without cause or explanation. Without any objection to such activity, you are condoning that kind of control over your posts, as well as everyone else’s. Perhaps you boys are OK with that type of suppression without cause or merit. If so, please tear up your man card prior to your next post.
  12. So it's like gun control? One man goes crazy and all responsible gun owners pay? I don't agree that's OK, but it happened. This is not the same thing. Putting non-political posts there without any reason is a different issue. I wonder if I will get any reply from who ever moved it.
  13. Excuse me? There was no cut and paste in that thread, nor was Papist posting on it. What are you referring to? Are you saying it's not the post, but who posts it, that determines if it gets moved? Are any of you guys the one who had the ability to move the thread? If not, I'd really like to hear from the person who did.
  14. If this is the case, then the site becomes arbitrary, capricious, and infected with inequality. The thought police become corrupt without any rules or checks and balances. The site will eventually devolve into a sham site if that's the way post are going to be handled. I actually feared it would come to this when the political forums were removed from the recent posts. At the end of the day, if that is the case, everyone has a right to be informed of that situation in the terms they agree to, so they can choose whether they want to be subject to that type of control.
  15. Not in the General Chit Chat forum they can't. It has now been banished to a forum that most will not see, especially new members. Yet, there are other posts that remain in the General Chit Chat forum that are along the same general political persuasion. It's not logical and makes one wonder if their next post will be arbitrarily moved as well. Perhaps if the person who moved it could explain the reasoning for moving posts, I could begin to understand it.
  16. So if someone replies to my post with political commentary, it becomes political and gets moved? I didn't bring politics into this thread. As a matter of fact, the first replies to this thread about bashing other's, were bashing me. LOL! Talk about irony. We have some real issues on this site, that's obvious.
  17. Phade, are you the one who moved it? I'd really like to hear from the person who made the decision to move it. I'm curious as to what criteria is used in the decision to move a thread.
  18. Are there some guidelines used to determine when a thread is moved to the political forum, the vast wasteland on this site? How does a thread on hunters bashing other hunter's opinions on hunting and firearms, become political, when a couple of threads on shooting at a college, politics and gun control, do not? Just trying to understand the logic used, for future reference.
  19. Moved to the political forum? Really?? As if bashing weren't bad enough.
  20. This is how a serious thread regarding murders in a school gets derailed. I really think the objective was to shut down discussion on the original topic. How about we bring it back around to the serious topic it actually is?
  21. Anyone who doesn't know the government is a threat, has never had an IRS audit.
  22. I disagree Sits. Chicago is the shining example of the failure of all gun control policies. It illustrates how only law abiding people are disarmed and made defenseless against the predators that take advantage of their defenselessness. People want criminal control, not less freedom to defend themselves. Unfortunately, some people do not understand organizations like the NRA, that know all too well why the gun control the anti's seek, will make things worse, and that's why they oppose them. Do you know the reasons the NRA objects to "Universal Background Checks" and the current screening proposals from the anti's? When politicians demonize those who point out the fallacy of their agenda, they are either inept, or pushing a hidden agenda they do not want revealed.
  23. Culver, I'm the 2nd oldest of 7 kids. I understand. But I don't believe I see the same thing among all in our circle of interest.
  24. I've also been around long enough to have heard everything that can be said about the other side of hunting, from non-hunters and those with firearm phobias. I find it exhausting to constantly repeat my opinions with facts that completely trash many of the debate points those opposed to hunting and firearms continually regurgitate. One of my favorite sayings to the uninformed is, "I'll try being nicer, if you'll try being smarter". I'll admit I have a low tolerance for stupidity, but I am honestly trying to remain civil in each and every debate I enter into, and I surely would never start off a reply to a newbie, who is one of us, with an attack. Not saying anyone did, just pointing out it was expected.
