  1. This probably doesn't apply to you, but it's my experience and maybe you can relate. I went from 52-54lb @ 27" to 62-64lb @ 27" and noticed about 6" POI shift at 30 yards. Hope this somehow helps you in determining if a lighter arrow would make a significant difference. X-Calibur Lighting Systems http://facebook.com/XCaliburLightingSystems
  2. I use a 5 step process on badly abused knives and usually only need 3 for decently used edges. The 5 step includes 3 different grit wet stones and 2 rods which includes a steel. I've sharpened a few knives for friends and they've been happy with the work. X-Calibur Lighting Systems http://facebook.com/XCaliburLightingSystems
  3. You did what you could. A 3 yard difference in guesstimating the distance at that close of a range shouldn't make much of a difference in POI. Go take a few shots with the broadhead to verify that your aiming and POI are true and get back out there and redeem yourself. It's all part of hunting. You're a responsible hunter in my book for going through all that to try to find that wounded deer. X-Calibur Lighting Systems http://facebook.com/XCaliburLightingSystems
  4. Last time I got my oil changed at a chain was when I was in college. Ended up almost losing my engine due to the knucklehead not tightening my drain plug. Left me stranded on the highway had I not had tools and a spare quart in the trunk. Sometimes it's not about how cheap/expensive it costs at the shop. 10. Maybe he hasn't pushed his religious views on others, but that's probably up for debate. I don't know. But what I do know is, he's preaching and even relies on a fictitious person to "guide" his unethical hunting practices and preaches that on a hunting forum on the Internet for all to see, including folks that might think it's ok to pass up good ethics and instead just pray in church instead. So where would a line be drawn? Would it be ok to shoot blindly into the sky with a deadly weapon and allow good ol' JC to have that projectile land on the intended "deer" or human because that's where JC wanted it to be? Probably in wolc's world, it would be. I'm sure there's a lot of religious people on this forum. Most of which are probably Christian or Catholic. Why it's it that wolc has made it a point to include his personal religious beliefs in so many of his posts while others have respected the views of others and kept to themselves? IMO, his opinion that his hunting success is directly related to JC is an insult to every hunter that practices day in and day out to strive for taking ethical shots when the opportunity arises. I suppose each of us interpret things a little differently. This is how I see it. X-Calibur Lighting Systems http://facebook.com/XCaliburLightingSystems

  13. Explanation? I can't see how placing your trigger finger literally next to the trigger on your release could be any safer than behind the trigger. X-Calibur Lighting Systems http://facebook.com/XCaliburLightingSystems

  15. Welcome! Lots of ice fishing opportunities down here as well. X-Calibur Lighting Systems http://facebook.com/XCaliburLightingSystems
  16. Better keep up with regular doses of that stuff, or you might lose immunity one day [emoji23] In regards to the religious comment, although I respect where you are coming from, it's a two way street. I'll remove my joke if he removes all his posts. X-Calibur Lighting Systems http://facebook.com/XCaliburLightingSystems
  17. Kind of wish I bought those camo undies they had on sale at Cabela's for occasions like this. X-Calibur Lighting Systems http://facebook.com/XCaliburLightingSystems
  18. I have nothing against him, just the way he forces his religion onto a hunting forum in every post he makes. If you took offense to a little joke, then I'm sorry you took it seriously. X-Calibur Lighting Systems http://facebook.com/XCaliburLightingSystems
  19. That's actually a great suggestion. Sometimes I run out of TP, the bible would be great to have around in a pinch [emoji106] X-Calibur Lighting Systems http://facebook.com/XCaliburLightingSystems
  20. All I see is missionary.... X-Calibur Lighting Systems http://facebook.com/XCaliburLightingSystems
  21. They said there were none because Stewart is a special property that is outside the norm. Stewart is mostly managed by the forest rangers and occasionally you'll see a DEC officer. If you read into the rules for Stewart, you'll soon find that you can easily be written up for things you wouldn't normally expect. Good luck out there! 22. It also becomes an either sex tag early bow, for some folks. X-Calibur Lighting Systems http://facebook.com/XCaliburLightingSystems
  23. So you know about the parking situation and rules as to how to hunt relative to where you park? Climbing on old nails that someone else made may not be a violation, but the DEC and rangers may see it differently when they spot you on top a tree that has said nails. This is besides the safety issues around these types of steps. Just trying to keep you out of trouble. Stewart is heavily patrolled. X-Calibur Lighting Systems http://facebook.com/XCaliburLightingSystems
  24. I believe you violated several rules in Stewart. Did you read the rules before entering the property? When I started out, we had the most action just hiking/stalking around. Once you get to pattern them out a bit, you'll know where to sit and plan an ambush. X-Calibur Lighting Systems http://facebook.com/XCaliburLightingSystems
  25. I'm usually that bow hunter you're talking about. Every bow hunter I've encountered in Westchester and Queens doesn't know about this new reg when I bring it up. X-Calibur Lighting Systems http://facebook.com/XCaliburLightingSystems
