  1. Well being that I have no DMP tag and only one archery tag I am going to shoot whatever walks by first. Hopefully it will be a nice sized 8 pointer or better but since I have spare time to hunt I will be shooting whatever comes by. I do not mind taking does even if it is early season but obviously a buck is preferable. Considering I can only shoot a buck with my regular season tag I would not mind taking a doe with archery.
  2. How do you break up a flock though? Do you need to find them roosting? Is it possible to use the same strategies to locate the roost in the fall like you use in the spring?
  3. I was wondering if anyone buys the muzzleloading privilege in order to get the extra tag for archery? It says on the tag you can use it for either muzzleloading or archery. Are there any rules or regulations from doing this? I am considering doing this if I have early success with my regular Archery tag...especially if I get a nice buck.
  4. no bucks...i think they are all gone
  5. Decent pics...hopefully will get some better...hopefully will not run in to mama bear in the woods!
  6. Some healthy looking bucks there....hopefully that field will keep drawing them in and some even bigger ones
  7. 70 lbs on my PSE Nova NI. I can shoot all day long no problem...I am young though still...I could see 70 lbs being tough in my later years.
  8. Wow...impressive shots...kinda makes me laugh seeing them on their rear legs like that sizing each other up
  9. def. jealous cause i aint seeing no bucks like that
  10. The Walkers have some solid reviews on Cabelas....might have to try these ones out
  11. Don't forget about barracuda attacks on young girls fishing http://www.fieldandstream.com/photos/gallery/fishing/2010/07/barracuda-jumps-boat-chomps-koral-wiras-arm
  12. I can envision some nice turkey hunting in those fields...setting up right on the edge of the trees and putting the decoy in there
  13. Damn...that is a lot of fur...nice hunting
  14. I am more interested in having something to protect my ears rather than aid my hearing. I know I could get some regular ear plugs but sometimes when that game is coming by you do not have the chance to move and put them in. Already met someone who has gone deaf because of hunting and shooting and I just want to protect myself for the future.
  15. I meant per mile....yes only bummer to PA is no hunting on Sunday...unless you want to hunt coyote, fox, or crow! hehe
  16. Well I have a house in a gated community and there used to be about 180 deer per acre. But for the past ten years they have been culling the herd during winter because they were scared the deer would eat everything in the browse line...and in turn there would be no trees in fifty years. I think its b.s....now there are only 20 deer per acre. But the turkey are everywhere now...same with the bear.
  17. I have a house up in the Poconos - Monroe County. Do the majority of my hunting there but since I am a NY resident I hunt both places. Just curious if anyone hunts up in the Poconos? Pretty good game there...turkey are highly abundant where I am. They love those beechnuts! Whitetail are around in good numbers...and of course there are plenty of black bear living in the swamps.
  18. I have heard mixed reviews about Tioga. I wouldn't go there because I believe in fair chase and not hunting animals that are caged in. If I were going to do a hog hunt I would go down to Florida, Texas, or even Alabama where there are a lot of places to do fair chase. Id rather fly to another country to hunt an exotic than go to a cage and shoot one for a lot of money.
  19. I have a new Savage 10...great rifle. Really like it....Im sure the 99 is a great gun. Savage is a great manufacturer.
  20. Does anyone hunt with the hearing aids that also block the noise of your shot blast? I was interested in picking one up for rifle/shotgun but would like to hear some feedback on them. I saw some cheap ones on Cabelas for $50 bucks and ones that go for up to $600! If you use one what do you use and how much?
