  1. .308 all the way. a .223 will kill any deer, but the 308 will put them down much faster and leave a much better blood trail.

    Grunt call

I bought a M.A.D grunt call a few years back. It sounds pretty real.
  3. SCUM BAGS!!! I use to work, part time security, at Hancock airport in Syracuse. There are all kinds of HUGE bucks that live inside of the fenced in, FEDERALLY OFF LIMITS, airport grounds. One day we found a huge buck carcass, minus the head, inside of the fence. It was laying right by the fence. some scum hopped the fence, shot the deer, at night, cut the head off and left. We even found the Winchester 12 Ga. slug case, about 20 yds from the dead deer. The scum is no doubt bragging, to this day, about his "trophy". Pieces of S#@t…...
  4. In the end I don't really care what the hypocrites and juvenile eye brow pluckers say. Although I was confident in my shot, I ended up making a bad shot, like many others have and will do. It's on me. Thankfully it looks like the deer made it. If any one makes any mistakes, misses or hits a deer that they don't recover, don't post here. These guys are perfect killing machines and will let you know what a F.U. you are ……LOL!!! In their little minds…G'nite kids
  5. You have never made a bad shot and never will?? Got it Bwanna
  6. You caught me junior….please don't tell on me…LOL!!!
  7. Sorry…Im sure none of you guys knew what I meant. It is confusing and I blame myself. 16 kills ..1 miss..and 2 none recovered hits.
  8. The neighbor has some cams out. There were some good bucks on them but I don't think any were this deer. He is hunting in Illinois this week, when he gets back i'll hit him up.
  9. LOL!!! Ethics??!……Really?!!! From you??! LOL!….. I made a bad bow shot. It happens. It's not like I shot a bunch of easy kill deer on nuisance permits and then bragged about wasting the animals. BTW I am 16 for 3 with a bow. I don't take crap shots but sometimes things happen. Im sure that you have never had a miss or a non recovered hit….LOL !!! Silly little dude strikes again!!!!
  10. Im pretty sure I saw him this morning!!!!!!! He cruised by at about 30 yds. No limp no nothing… I didn't have a shot but it was a good feeling to see him still in the game.!! He's the only deer I saw today.. Still can't find my arrow..

    No scrapes

I wasn't seeing a whole lot of scrapes, but while looking in the thicker stuff, for a buck I hit, I noticed quite a few. They might be there, but they are in areas you don't go into.
  12. Nope..I person can opt to hunt with a bow or muzzle loader during regular gun season, and can use a bow during late muzzle loader season.
  13. Thursday morning in 7f it was all out. bucks chasing does hard, lone does acting real nervous. I messed up on a nice buck who was coming in to kick a smaller bucks a$$. But I hunted the same area two days in a row after that with not a whole lot of action. I would say get out as much as you can in the next week or so
  14. Unfortunately ,trespassers have the upper hand. They are in very remote places, there are hardly ever any witness's and even if they are caught whats the penalty??? NY should make it legal for blatant, repeat offender trespassers to be beaten on sight, have their vehicles trashed, their mothers slapped and for their ugly a$$ pictures to be posted on bill boards along with their home address.
  15. I watched one of those shoots at a local range, a few years back. Guys were shooting off hand, with old military rifles, with iron sights, out to 200yds. Most of them were very good shots. A few were doing what I couldn't do off a bench with a modern scoped rifle.
  16. Me and my friends have looked for several hours, three days in a row. No sign of him. I hope he lives. Makes me want to take up fall fishing.......
  17. I am confident in my shooting. I don't take crap shots in the hopes of scoring a lucky hit. I have let countless bucks go, because I just didn't like the shot. I was very confident in taking this shot and thought I scored, until I got to where I shot him. Then things got ugly. In the end it's on me but I would honestly do the same thing tomarrow given the same situation. It happens....I guess.
  18. Bait em and flock shoot em son, and I'll video tape it!!!!! What an a$$ wipe...
  19. The hair was white and grey. Brisket ??? Like most of you guys, I've taken a lot of deer and I just can't get the way he looked, after the shot, out of my head. He looked well hit. I have a couple hours to spare in the A.M. I'll try it again, with my buddy. Then I'll hunt Saturday and look some more after I sit. Maybe the crows will be sounding off, but I would rather have him shake it off and live till ...when ever.
  20. The hell of it is, thinking that he is just crumpled up dead in the real thick crap...
  21. I don't have a semi shotgun, but always wanted one. This one just looked and felt great....It was pricey...$800
  22. I hit a good buck at around 8 this morning. It was pouring rain. A 6 was chasing a doe around my stand, and I think the 8 came in to kick his a$$. It was a 24yd. shot. He jumped straight up and ran off, tail down. Im thinking ...SCORE!!!! He ran off to my left and behind me into some real thick crap. I expected to hear him fall down, but I never heard it. I climbed down at around 8:20. I couldn't find my arrow and I only found hair and a little blood, where I shot him. I looked, made circles, back tracked and went back out with my dog....No dice. the dog couldn't get a scent past 10-15yds from where I shot it. It was pouring out the whole time.(Gave it a good 5 hrs) I hope I just grazed him, but I keep thinking of how he looked when he ran off...Hurt.
