From the barrages of gun shots, I sometimes hear, Im pretty sure that some people just spray and pray. There is no way these guys are taking good aim.

Im not big on marinades, but I do soak them once in a while. Italian dressing (high test, not the fat free) with a clove or two of crushed garlic, and some cracked black pepper works real well…. Marinade the straps over night and slap on a hot..hot grill for 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 minutes each side, depending on how thick the cuts are. Do not over cook. Inside should be a little on the pink side.

Nice buck..congrats to you and your kid... -
Years ago my friend had his whole buck stolen from a tree, on the side of his pole barn. It wasn't even a big buck, just a broken up six point but some little sh$t stain stole it, and you can bet that the little sh$t stain went around bragging that he was the one who killed the buck. I don't hang anything outside, for this very reason……a lot of little sh$t stains out there who will do anything to put their name on a set of horns… Sad.

I have been using Gold Tips for the past 5 years or so. Not a lot of money and they seem to be very good quality.

It must have been pretty cool to watch him. I have seen quite a few, over the years, down in Allegheny County. I just can't see shooting the damn things. If they posed a threat or were a nuisance I would drop the hammer, but to shoot one just to make a rug or to say I shot one, isn't me. I have heard that the meat is pretty much inedible.

Regular season Opening weekend. How'd you do?

Hunted Allegheny Co. for the last few days. I saw a bunch of does and scrub racked bucks but nothing good enough to shoot. My buddy got a nice 8 on opening day. He didn't get it until 11:40 and it was the first deer he saw that day. It was chasing a doe. It ran past him, without giving him a good shot, but fortunatly the doe brought him right back for a 40 yard shot. -
Good luck ..I hope these D-bags get caught. Opening morning we thought one of our neighbors shot. Come to find out it was someone who, according to the neighbor, was right on top of him,but he never saw anyone. We found a gut pile, along with plastic gutting gloves, paper towels and a small piece of rope less than 150yards from the neighbors stand, on the other side of a stand of hemlocks. This A-hole was well onto our property and had to go past posted signs. Unfortunately these little inbreds know that the chance of getting caught and the penalty they face, if they are caught, are small enough that they just don't care. I would hate to find a trespassers vehicle parked on our property…. Tires and auto glass are expensive…LOL>!!

Man..That was hard to watch…Hopefully the buck lived..

I have been seeing bucks but I sat for 5hrs. yesterday morning, with very mild winds but the winds still kept changing. Seemed like every 20 minutes or so. I didn't see a damn thing. But on the way out I noticed that a coyote left his calling card in one of the active scrapes by my stand. Im not sure whats going on…..

Sounds like you have to get your head on straight. You always have more time to shoot, than you think ,because if you don't have enough time ...then you don't have a good shot. Think of it that way. Good luck.

A week or so ago I sighted in my 7mm-08 and the shotgun. They're ready to go.. I still want to take a few cracks with the muzzle loader though. I might have to do that down at camp. -
You would think that a future surgeon would have better hand/eye coordination!!!! Not one hit?? LOL!!!

Congrats!!!!! Clever, effective blind and it looks like it paid off…. Good job !!!

Congrats on the buck..and your wife. My wife won't get closer than 5 feet of one of my deer, let alone help cut it up….

I have to admit that back in the day, I killed a deer or two while smoking in my stand. Gun hunting only. Im still pretty paranoid about scent, especially while bow hunting.

I always get a kick out of these guys you see, grocery shopping, getting gas, sitting in diners etc. while dressed in their full hunting outfits. I saw a guy this week sitting in the Nice n Easy, eating a sub, dressed in full camo, knee high rubber boots and with his back tag pinned on. I hope he was done hunting for the day.
