Im not sticking my head in the sand about anything. Maybe the cop did just steal the sign. Seems odd but possible. There is no way you can draw a solid conclusion from just the video and no other info. I think its not unreasonable to get a little more info before labeling anyone, especially a cop, a criminal. Im sure you wouldn't want someone to do that to you or someone you knew. But you have your mind made up so what ever. In July my son and a few other kids in the neighborhood had their bikes stolen. A week or so later I was driving behind a patrol car that had a kids BMX bike hanging out of the trunk. Obviously the cop stole the bike...right? There can't possibly be any other explanation. BRILLIANT!!!!

maybe your ordinance is different from mine. The whole point is you are accusing this cop of a crime, based on nothing but B.S. assumptions. You don't know if the cop was responding to a complaint, like the article suggests, you don't know if the owner was spoken to and refused to remove the sign, you don't know if it is illegal to post a sign in this neighborhood you don't actually know what happened. If B.S. assumptions are good enough for you....go for it. Again maybe this cop likes to steal yard signs in the middle of the day while in uniform, but that would be a B.S. assumption on my part. I would need a little more info.

Just because the cop didn't follow, what you believe to be, proper police procedure does not mean that he "STOLE" the sign. Maybe he did but there are a lot of questions. If the sign is in violation of an ordinance the cop is not required to ask the owner to remove it. It would be nice but he is not required to. As far as the police going onto someones property.... There is a local ordinance by me that says you can't have an unregistered motor vehicle parked, in the open, on you property. If you do, the police can, and will, come onto your property and impound that vehicle. A cop in full uniform, in a marked patrol car in broad daylight taking a sign doesn't raise a few questions for you?

So you're sure he is "stealing" the sign. 100%

Maybe someone complained about the sign and the cop removed it because it was in violation of a town ordinance?

Just let him know that you know about the other guys wanting to lease it and if he is considering it, you will lease it. Maybe he needs the money but is embarrassed to take it from you. Or maybe he doesn't care about the money and you're all set. Either way let him know.

You can never be too safe when on a firing line. I have seen long time, experienced shooters have total brain farts. I have pissed a few people off over the years, by pointing out (sometimes loudly) their unsafe firearms handling. I don't really care. In most cases they are embarrassed and try to rationalize their mistakes as if its somehow not their fault. I had a guy let a .45 round go that missed my left foot by inches (he doesn't like me anymore) and I have seen numerous other "misfires". Newbe or experienced keep your eyes on them and don't be afraid to speak up. I pissed off my own brother in law a few weeks ago...Don't care.

Pheeew!! Ask them if they have our 2 ladder stands that were taken last week.....LOL... Glad it worked out.

You should have a sit down with the farmer and try to get a verbal agreement that if he is thinking about leasing the property, you would like first dibs on it. I hunted a piece of property for thirty years. One day, out of the blue the farmer tells us that we couldn't hunt it anymore because he leased it to a group of guys. Every one of those guys knew we hunted it but they went behind our backs and leased it out from under us anyway. The farmer, who we knew and helped, for all those years, never called any of us to give us first shot at it. When it comes to getting access to good hunting land, some people will turn full blown A-Hole in a flash.

Just walking can make a big difference. I have trails that I walk the dog on. I'll walk at a fast pace, the run a ways, then walk ...etc It's no Navy Seal work out but it helps.

Sorry to hear it. We just had two ladder stands taken last week so I know how you feel. I think one of the problems with leaving stands up all year is that is that during the off season you get a lot of people riding ATV's and snowmobiles. They ride by the stands time after time with out seeing anyone and I think they figure out what an easy score it would be.

Most trial lawyers are a special breed of scum bag......Sorry.

Yeah....I looked into it and there was a recall on the firing pin but Winchester will send you a new pin free. I would just have to pay to have it installed, Can't cost that much......

I have a Remington 700, in 30-06 that I bought close to 30 years ago. I Took a ton of deer with it but retired it 4 or 5 years ago after acquiring the 7mm-08. After reading the last couple posts..... I just might have to "let it play" this year.

I went out for a couple hours today. The apple crop is insane. The ground is covered and the branches are still full. Same with crab apples and pears. It's so good that I worry that the deer are sick of them already.

I set one of my climbers this morning. I left it at the base of the tree. I chain locked it and hid it under a big pine bow that I cut off of a nearby tree, so its not as easily spotted from one of the logging roads. I have never had to do this before, and it pisses me right off that I have to start. Freak'n dirt bags..

I have a chance to buy one for less than $300. Its a semi auto with a 4 shot mag. .308 cal & has a fixed 4 power Weaver scope. Its in pretty good shape. Some Knicks and scratches on the stock but the bluing and bore are real good. The old timer who owned it killed a pile of deer with it. He bought it back in the 60's. They stopped making them sometime in the 70's. Are these good rifles or were they junk? I don't need another rifle (what did I just say ??!!!) Just wondering.

I wonder if doing a tie dye thing would work better than paint. First an olive green, then a dark brown then black.......
