Are those old shells worth anything? I have a couple boxes of Western SuperX 20 ga. slugs (Yellow box paper hull) and several paper hull bird shot loads that have the shot size marked on the top of the shell, where the crimp is. On the slug boxes it says "smokeless powder and non corrosive primers." So I guess they're old.

I don't know if the article mentioned it, but he was responding to a woman who talked about her wanting an AR for protection. I think most women, and men, can handle an AR easier than a 12 ga. I think its the same nation wide. The wife is going to Texas in June to visit her sister. I plan to have her look there and see ( if there is any ammo left in that state) if she can send some home, but I have my doubts.

I have been using Lightfield 2-3/4" slugs for years. They are amazing out of my rifled barrel. Very accurate and devastating on deer. They are an ounce and 1/4 so they hit real hard. But all guns are different. yours may not like them.

I thought these companies were not selling arms to state governments. Under the King's new law, citizens can't buy these weapons anyway.

Almost 100% diaphram calls. I like the ones made by Quaker boy. They just seem to sound a little better. Like Lawdwaz, I have also had up and down results with slates. I have four or five different ones but they are all inconsistent as far as getting a good sound all of the time. Sometimes they sound great and at other times the same call sounds like anything but a turkey.

I have two nieces who are vegetarians and I worked with a woman who is a vegan. All three are not open minded to anything. "meat is murder and unhealthy and torture to animals and barbaric and blah blah.. All three are pasty, bone thin and unhealthy looking. If we have a cook out or get together, my nieces bring their own bags of birdfood and lecture everyone one about how bad meat is. They are both young, 20 and 16 so there is no talking to them. Soooo I mess with them. I'll put the plate of raw burgers, that are ready for the grill, down right next to their bowls of nuts and berries. While Im cooking i walk over to where they are sitting, start talking and wave my greasy spatula around as I talk. I put some color in their skin once. I mixed red food coloring & a little water, rubbed it all over my white apron and walked out onto the patio with a huge raw steak on a bar-B-Q fork. Childish but fun.

Im pretty sure the Marlin bolt action model numbers do start with "X". But its something like "X7" or "X7R". Easily confused with the "X-bolt" (Browning) I dont own a Marlin bolt gun, but from everything I have heard, they are good guns. Especially for the money. I read a review of them, in one of the magazines, and they did well. I would buy one

I was looking at the 3000#er because my machine is a 700 and weighed in at, I think 740# but Im sure 2000 is plenty. Im not sure what the Polaris winch is..I think 2500# ?? I got to tear it apart and get at it, as soon as I finish painting every room in the frick'n house. almost done. Thanks.

I guess Polaris used Warn up until 2007 (the year of my ATV) then they went with the Polaris brand which are Chinese made with a Polaris sticker on them. I really don't want to get another Polari$. It has been acting up for a few years and finally crapped out. Since the winch didn't work I couldn't plow this year and hat to use my Snow Blower!! (whats this world coming to?) Harbor Freight has a 3000# Bad Lands? winch for $110. Length is the same as mine 13 1/2" I was just wondering about the availability of mounting hardware for it if it doesn't match up.

I have a Polaris ATV with a Polaris winch that is shot. Will another brand winch fit in existing mounting brackets?? Or do I have to but all new hardware as well as the winch?
