  1. I agree Doc. But I also see your examples may be a result of unions getting too greedy and corrupt and killing their own work force perception as a good thing for both labor and corporations. Once their reputation as a powerful, ethical, fair and helpful organizational choice has been compromised, their membership dwindles and their impact in the private sector becomes impotent. The last thing an employee can afford to do is give part of their meager wages in dues to a union that doesn't do what it promises to do. Siding with a union, in this bad economy, may also find you out of a job, as the company can easily find non-union replacements lining up at the front door. I think the tipping point came when Air Traffic controllers went head to head with Ronald Reagan and lost their jobs. The public was not supporting them because they were demanding a lot more than the average taxpayer was getting. They were also willing to put Americans at risk to strengthen their position. The public saw that as taking hostages. If unions would learn to think their positions through like an economist, rather than think like a mugger, they might find they could gain a more powerful position in the world as a good thing for employees. Right now, you will find very few workers, outside of the skilled trades that make up many unions now, who see an advantage to joining one. And even in the skilled trade area, there are many skilled laborers who are increasingly shunning unions in order to find work, because the work is there if you price the labor competitively.
  2. This M5 BMW will do 155 MPH, but it could go faster if it didn't have a factory installed limiter. The commercial is fun to see if you ever saw a film of a high speed bullet hitting an apple. http://www.autoblog.com/2012/06/22/the-bmw-m5-bullet-commercial-thats-too-good-to-miss/
  3. Wow, you did real well in the little time you were there.
  4. Dave, your last post isn't warranted and uncalled for. I believe your frustration level is getting the better of you and you are no longer debating, you are insulting. You requested a lot of info and you got it. Nothing wrong with citing info on Google as a source. Just because a guy uses Google, doesn't mean he doesn't know anything. Better to look up info and find out the answer, than think you know the info when you could be wrong.
  5. Obviously they would rather steal the money in the fund, rather then worry about the Federal matching funds coming in, because they won't be able to touch any of it if the Fed is satisfied with the situation.
  6. The politicians are bribed by unions with kick backs from the ill gotted money they are allowed to make. Then the elected ones pass the laws the unions want passed, to the detriment of the taxpaying public. Both bribery and accepting bribes are illegal, so both are guilty. But if you are a union man, you already know this. If you don't know it, you should. Try checking out the facts rather than believing what the union hall tells you.
  7. Either way it turns out, it's a Life Sentence.
  8. All of you guys should read this. It's too late for many of us, but not too late for some. I know. I've been there, survived, and will not go there again. http://www.henrymakow.com/why_ive_never_married.html
  9. TOP TEN REASONS MEN PREFER GUNS OVER WOMEN: And here we go... #10 - You can trade an old 44 for a new 22. #9 - You can keep one gun at home and have another for when you're on the road. #8 - If you admire a friend's gun and tell him so, he will probably let you try it out a few times. #7 - Your primary gun doesn't mind if you keep another gun for a backup. #6 - Your gun will stay with you even if you run out of ammo. #5 - A gun doesn't take up a lot of closet space. #4 - Guns function normally every day of the month. #3 - A gun doesn't ask, "Do these new grips make me look fat?" #2 - A gun doesn't mind if you go to sleep after you use it. And the Number One reason why Men Prefer Guns over women... #1 - You can buy a silencer for a gun.
  10. Well, it's legal in NY now if it was a he, so you had us all wondering. I'll give you the same advice I give all engaged men. No one know what happiness is until they marry, and by then it is too late!! All is well for the first 3 or 4 years, but then a woman will change and no longer tolerate what you want do, if it doesn't have the two of you on track with HER goals. I like guns better because they are cheaper, can be sold for what I paid for them, if not more, do what I expect them to do and are far less dangerous. Wives and guns also have one big thing in common. If you keep one around long enough, you are surely going to want to shoot it!
  11. Haven't heard that yet, but if it's true, I hope they actually meet someone who is sending death threats to them.
  12. I quote the article here.... The ultimate source of funding for the Fallkill cleanup is a federal National Emergency Grant, whose terms require paying wages at the highest of the federal, state or local minimum wage or at the comparable rates of pay for individuals employed in similar occupations by the same employer. The state Labor Department decided that this meant the prevailing wage for public-works projects. But “prevailing wage” is a term of art that actually means a pay rate based on collective-bargaining agreements between labor unions and private employers. It gets worse. This situation is extreme, but hardly unique: The prevailing wage has been an increasingly costly headache all over New York. But the unions push for it, and the pols are only too happy to oblige. Well, on top of restoring the Fallkill, the project illustrates how government all too often works — that is, as wastefully as possible. It also stands as a testament to the power of unions in dictating government wage rates. I think it's incorrect to say that unions have no part in this issue.
  13. Forcing prevailing wage is a Union demand. That's the way the public will look at this issue. This wouldn't have happened if these kids could have been paid minimum wage.
  14. First, the mass media hass to be on board with exposing the truth. This story has been ignored by the mass media from the beginning because they're all on board with Obama and his anti-gun agenda. I give Issa and his committee tons of credit for keeping this thing from fading away. He is risking his whole political reputation on retaliation from this administration and the whole Democratic party. The man deserves to be honored.
  15. I believe she is the one who made the decision to make it all go away. She has decided not to press charges. As far as all the money being raised, amazing things happen when a video goes viral worldwide. Millions of folks see it. A lot of folks gave as little as $1. Maybe God feels she has had a tough life and suffered through it with dignity, so it's time to reward her.
  16. Just heard on the news the donation fund for her has hit $400,000. She will never have to see those ugly little faces again. Good for her!
  17. Let's hear from all of you guys who support unions. This is why the public doesn't support them.
  18. I've seen more realism in the real mountain men living in cabins in the mountains of NY, than I see on that show. I guess my biggest beef is that these three guys don't seem to have mastered the skills a man living off the land should have. They all seem to be out of their element out there with no real ability to really thrive on their own. If you want to see a show about a real Mountain Man, check out the movie called, "Alone in the Wilderness". This guy moved to Alaska at 50 years old in the 1950's, built his own cabin, had no electric, no car, no TV, only a radio, and he made everything he needed by hand. He even had refrigeration by putting a secure box in the ground. He also filmed his 30 years up there living alone. He was very smart hobby scientist/naturalist and photographer. The film doesn't say, but I believe he may have been a retired union carpenter or something with a pension to live on. He only had 1 bolt action .30-06, ate what he shot, what he grew, or what he caught, and he was very comfortable and happy there for the rest of his life. He only moved when he got too old to take the minus 50 degree winters anymore. He died soon after he left to live with his daughter in the lower 48. He lived alone very happily for 30 years in the most beautiful area of Alaska I can imagine, right on the side of a lake at the foot of the mountains. His cabin still stands today and has become the property of the National Park Service. They give tours and seminars there today on how to thrive when living a wilderness lifestyle.
  19. The victim of an assault like this is never at fault for not reporting it. She probably feared getting fired if she reported it to the school principal. These kids are stupid! So stupid, they posted their own criminal convictions on You Tube. How stupid can you get? Their parents should have one chance to punish the kids for their actions, to the satisfaction of the entire community. If they fail to do it, or try to defend their spawn, they should be charged as accessories for contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
  20. I was looking forward to this series, but i have to say it has been a big disappointment to me.
  21. After what Obama just did to get Eric Holder out of the frying pan in the "Fast & Furious" contempt hearings, I'm voting for this kid for President!
  22. For a new hunter getting his first deer rifle, I always suggest getting a bolt action in .30-06. If this will be the only rifle you ever own, it will be capable of doing it all, in all the hunting fields, on any game but Grizzly, anywhere in North America. Put a good quality scope on it and you have all the rifle you will ever need. You also have lots of ammo choices and it's available anywhere. Many times you will also have the opportunity to stock up on inexpensive ammo for it as well. Any other rifle action or chambering will do what you need it to do in NY, but may not be as good a choice if you ever get the chance to hunt something other than Whitetail in NY. An accurate bolt action in .30-06 will be a good choice anywhere you may ever get the chance to hunt big game in North America. BTW, a 300 yard shot is well within the range of a .30-06 if it's accurate and you do your part.
  23. How is it that the America Sheeple are willing to allow the government to spy on it's own citizens like this?? http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2012/jun/7/big-brothers-all-seeing-eye/
