    These tyrants know the courts will take years to rule on these unconstitutional laws. Meanwhile they wield them against us like a bludgeon. It's a sign of a totalitarian, statist society.

    So NY passed a law requiring ammo buyers to have a NICS check done, and then admits it can't be done. How is it possible to comply with the law? I think any law with a catch-22 like that is unconstitutional from the start. It's a ban on ammo purchases.

    A friend of mine almost got me into knife collecting. Thank God I had the will power to resist it. I spend too much on guns and ammo as it is. LOL!

    I have sling studs on almost all of my rifles and prefer to use an M1 Carbine sling on all of them. It's olive drab, easy to adjust, is very light and attaches and detaches quickly. Hunting in the mountains, I am always looking to lighten things up. I learned how to use a sling as a shooting aid at a very young age on a shooting team and still find it to be advantageous today when looking to steady the shot as much as possible. I find slings to be less for carry than for shooting.

    Been out a few mornings and evenings over the last week and have only seen does and 1 button buck. I'm in the antler restriction zone. A few folks around me have taken some decent bucks, but none on the opener. The weather was warm and sunny a few days and deer weren't moving during the day. Still plenty of time to hunt and I have a doe tag for another zone I will fill towards the end of the season. I like the hunting more than the killing, so I'm enjoying the hunting this year. I expect I will shoot a buck before the season ends.

    We're thankful for our blessings, but we haven't forgotten that this year’s Black Friday “deals” are what items cost at full price last year. #FJB
