What time will you be in your stand and are you sitting the whole day?
Landowner replied to burmjohn's topic in Deer Hunting
I live in Orange county. 3M. I think the deer in my area are Union. They seem to take a break around 9:15am till 9:30 and start lunch 11:50 till 12:30. So I do the same. The best times I found to hunt is after lunch. They fill up and they lounge all afternoon. I usually walk up on them they are to fat to move easy shot. Lol... I usually shoot my deer before 10:00 am . Landowner. (Stay off my land) -
I shower normally but I use good old IVORY SOAP. This is scent free. I do use scent killer spray on my cloths every time. I was my cloths in Scent killer soap 2 times a week. I put these in a bag with leaves and such. I chew and also pee from my stand. Seems not very smart but this all works for me. I get a deer or two every year.

I have a stand on the edge of my property line. Where my stand is located is upland my neighbors land in a swampy. I try to catch deer going onto his land. This only happened once. One other time I called a very large brown antlered deer from his land to mine, no success. I would not shoot a deer from his property. He is good people don't want to ruin our friend ship. He let me track deer that my cousin shot onto his land. He also lets me hunt coyote. Landowner. (stay off my land)

Good morning all. My wife went to West Point yesterday for my son’s football game. On their way home on 218 they saw a very large coyote, my son said they seen a jogger on the opposite side of the road at the same time they saw the coyote. My son had said this was as tall as the guys waist. I have never heard of one being so big. Could this have been a WOLF? Landowner (

Would like to start Reloading ammunition?
Landowner replied to Landowner's topic in Rifle and Gun Hunting
I was thinking of buying a RCBS rock chucker. What brands of dies fit this model? What kind of scale should I buy? Any other info would be great. Brands and material. Brian -
I would like to reload my own! For hunting I live in 3M. I would like to start out with the basics. The shots we make down here are 50 - 200 yards. Should I buy a single stage or a progressive reloader? Type of powder? The rifles I would reload are .243, 260, 7MM-08 and a 7MM Mag and mabey 30-30. Could I have your views. Landowner

We do deer driver on a regular basis at my camp in Sullivan county. Our land is 3500 acres +. We have a lot of swamps, mountain lural and jack pines. We get 90% of our deer this way. We get in about 5 drives per day. Need I say we come home totally exausted. The work is worth it. We have a great time. Landowner (Stay off my land)

I do not have any friends that are anti hunters. If they were they are no friend of mine. I have a neighbor she is a vegetarian. She does not mind hunters. I ask her how is my deer herd doing. She always says not to good this year. With a smile on her face.

Planting BUCKWHEAT? For a Food plot.
Landowner replied to Landowner's topic in Land Management, Food Plots and QDM
I have other bare spots in the plot. A friend of mine said that Buckwheat is like candy to them. -
Hi Burt here are some pictures of something that might be from a hog. I live in Orange county just outside of Middletown. Just off of Mount hope rd. I hope someone can let me know what made this scrape. This is 2 1/2' wide and 3" deep.

I'm thinking about adding Buckwheat to my food plot. Is this a great idea? Should I plant this now, or is it to late? I live in Orange County, 3M.
