Bear are in places where they never used to be. At my uncles place bear were never heard of in the area, just this year he saw a monster crossing the road right in front of his house in Pine Bush, NY. Up in Cochecton, NY they are all over the place from what I hear from neighbors and friends. My father was out on the porch one night and saw one staring right back at him in the woods about 50 yards away.

My wife has no interest in the woods other then taking an ATV ride.

Since this past weekend was nice, and I had a free day, I started to prep the outside of the house... Cut down some shrubs, cleaned up the beds... Neighbors rented a power rake, so 4 of us went in on that... Worked out good, I have a small front / back yard so it only took about 30 min. Mowed up all the dead grass from the power rake, then seeded, threw down some peat moss.. I had a tree almost come down during the hurricane last year, and we had it cut down. I had to clean that whole area up, get rid of the chips from the grinding and toss top soil and moss down, then seeded that as well... Then I went with the starter fertilizer and watered. Hopefully the weather holds up so the seeds germinate. I know its a little early, but I had to get it done this weekend because my next two months weekends are crazy and it would be to late. Hopefully it wasn't a waste

You might be able to just adjust them in Picasa (free photo editor) too, and cut down the brightness rather then doing the scotch tape thing. The over exposure isnt that bad... http://picasa.google.com/

What about a piece of scotch tape over the flash? (Not the clear one, the clouded scotch tape) that should diffuse some of the light.
