  1. Here - in another thread we have all enjoyed. ;D http://huntingny.com/forums/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=108.0;attach=2231 Pg 37 of the Antler Restrictions - What are your thoughts Larry's post about 2/3 of the way down. That graph is irrelevant, the data from 2002 ( the statewide high of 140k bucks harvested in 2000) when AR was implemented the buck harvest numbers dropped statewide till it 2004 has has not recovered since statewide. Do that same graph for all areas from 2002 till today it will show the same exact thing.
  2. Based on the data the DEC is providing from 2006 to 2009, 4 years of data shows the following for the WMU's with AR: 3C: from 508 bucks to 514 bucks = 1% + 3H: from 876 bucks to 1245 bucks = 42% + 3J: from 712 bucks to 797 bucks = 19% + 3K: from 656 bucks to 568 bucks = 13% - Please explain to me where the 30% decrease in bucks are?
  3. Oh just that guy, as I drool all over my laptop.
  4. Yup, I had a blast Any deer get my blood pumping, I do not have to harvest anything to have a good time. Trust me, if that was the case, I would have had 10 seasons of unfunness (is that a word?!?? ).
  5. Actually nevermind, here is the email to join the bow hunting log program, just copy and paste that email into whatever email client you use. [email protected] As it states on the web page: "To participate or get more information about the Bowhunter Sighting Log, please e-mail us. Please provide your name, address, hunter ID (back tag number), a list of the counties where you hunt, and whether or not you have participated in New York's bowhunter log in any previous year. Thank you for your interest."
  6. I'd have to agree, there are more bucks now then before and larger bucks. I went 2 seasons of hunting with out seeing a single buck before AR kicked in (and I hunt both bow and rifle). Now, spending a long 5 day weekend hunting for example, I see bucks (not guaranteed to shoot them, last year I was not presented with a shooting opportunity).
  7. I emailed the DEC for the log participation this morning, and already got a personal response back stating that my log book was sent out today.
  8. Thats a shame if their tossing crappy shots around.
  9. To be honest, the only time I've participated in a drive was late season. It really isn't for me anyways, and from what I have herd from other hunters it can be quite unsafe depending upon the experience of your hunting group.
  10. There is plenty of room for improvement. There are a few of use that do hunt in an AR zone here that support AR because of the results we have seen hunting those areas. I'm one of them. Satisfaction in my immediate area because of AR has increased, as well as the opportunity to harvest a buck as well as larger bucks. Again, talking from my experience and my area in 3H and 3J.
  11. Get anything interesting on the cards?
  12. Both, I'm a db guy, I'd love to make some of this collected data more easily accessible and analyzable to everyone.
  13. Would be even better if they offered the data back to use to view and analyze.
  14. Burt, Wow, looks like a big bear. It looked like a big foot video the way you re-recorded it
  15. From reading some of the fresh scent to your door sites, they recommend just a few drops. Thats why I ask, it seems having all those hanging wicks are just way overkill.
  16. Slugger how are you going to use it? Rub it on your boots or some tree's around your stand?
  17. There were a few threads talking about deer scents and cover scents. But since a deers sense of smell is so strong, is there a need to use a lot? I know I a guy I used to hunt with that would be 5 or so scent wicks out there covered with deer scent. I was thinking, if a deers nose is so strong, wouldn't it know something is up? Wouldn't one or two scent wicks be more then enough or even just a little on a leaf, that scent stinks and I am sure it travels far.
  18. I found it here for ~19 bux shipped, seems to be the cheapest if anyone is interested. http://cgi.ebay.com/Ever-Calm-Deer-Herd-Stick-Cover-Scent-2-5-oz-2010-/320591647743?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item4aa4c053ff
  19. Haha. I'd print them out and take them over to the farm.
  20. Yeah nothing like having your pits smell like a deer
  21. I've seen the commercial a few times, I'd love to know if it works.
