both classes can be taken at 11, and you can not hunt until 12. If you want to get it done, you can get it done.

well I bother because it feeds the deer and other wildlife. I am getting healthier deer and less winter kill as they eat the sugar beets I plant all winter. It just helps the wildlife population overall.

As an instructor, I can say this. If you called me at 5:57 am, you would not get in my course anyway. I did 4 classes this year for gun and one for bow. ( I just got certified in bow) Next year I will do the same for both at least 4 classes. I had one in april before turkey season had 14 show up. One in July 19 August 20 September 23. Now my phone is ringing off the wall for ppl asking for a course. When I say I am not doing any more this year, they get pissed and ask why I bother to be an instructor if I am not going to do classes. I then offer then the information to become an instructor and offer to mentor so they can teach a class any time they want. You should hear the excuses then. I go back to the old thought I have had. If you want hunter numbers up, we need more instructors. When it gets this time of year, instructors have lives too. Have your son do the online work for the course on the dec website. That will give him the background info at least. It will not get him certified, but he will have the info. I would have ot say I am guessing you are out of luck for this year. Start looking a little earlier next year.

I got rid of the ones I had. I took them to hunter ed class and they went home with others. I kept one we use for demonstration. I did not buy any new stands this year, so none lying around.

weather sucked deer patterns changed due to dry conditions swamp is totally dry so deer now travel through it. rather than around it. time to regroup.

If you are a horn hunter, then you are not hunting deer. See it is simple. Deer have antlers, not horns. Horns are permanent and antlers fall off every year and a new set is grown.Cows have horns, and would hope you would know the difference. If deer had horns, in your world none would ever be shot. They would have spikes for life. I thought an expert such as yourself would know this.

this is what it is all about regardless of what you are hunting. Kids are the future.

Supposed to be pheasant hunt

My local gun club as well as the gun dog club and the DEC are sponsoring a youth pheasant hunt today. No charge to the youth. Birds are supplied by the DEC, lunch and ammo by the club and good bird dogs to hunt over. It is a great day for all. I just hope we do not disturb the bow hunters too much.

If you have such ,limited sight and shooting opportunities, how could you actually identify what you are shooting? Also how could you even get in there with any degree of quiet?

I made the point way back about lowering license prices as well as trusting mentors with strange kids. Defrazzle, how did your interview go? Any new developments?
