White hair means a low hit( unless you were shooting straight down through the deer) not any where near the vitals so deer is prolly still alive if the orange hoard didnt drop it.

Next time call state police or sheriff and they will show up sooner. And Im pretty sure its worse for them if you do.

Crawled into my ground blind the other morning and got set up. I looked to my left and saw a tail flicker so I looked through my scope to see what it was. There was a spike a 4 point a buck I call crazy 6 and a wide 8 point milling around in the bottom. I watched them for a while and then they all started sparing one by one with the 8 point. Crazy 6 got a little pushy with the 8 and the next time I saw the 8 point he only had one side!!! I did a double take to make sure what I was seeing was right. But he was walking off through some trees and I couldnt make out his rack. It took every bit of will power in my body not to walk down there and see if there was an antler laying on the ground. I dont want to burn this stand out as I see bucks from it just about every sit and I still have a muzzleloader buck tag left. But as soon as the season end Im going in to take a look.

The key is to make it as unpleasent as possible for them to ride on your land. I felled trees at the major access points of the trails where getting around is almost impossible. Then I roped off the rest and put posted signs on it. If they cut it I tie up a new one. I have several broken game cams up about ten feet off the ground.They are quite noticeable from the trails and they seem to scare off alot of people from the amount of tracks I see coming to them then leaving. After about a yr they just stopped trying to cross the property. All the other propertys around still allow 4wheelers and it has paid off big this yr to have none. I have 3 mature bucks ( one I shot ) that have taken up residence on the property and I have 15 other smaller bucks that I have gotten on cams also.

What a bunch of pansies. Now If they had done it with a 5 yr old 12 point they would have something. I would really like to see these tools do that.

I came across some fresh tracks the other day and started jogging to see if I could catch up to them. They crossed right where I had been sitting for three hrs and right back off the property. If I had just sat still for a half hr more they would have walked right up to me. then they would have been in a world of hurt. Land owner isnt playing anymore. he said as soon as you see them get a back tag number and call the police. I put up extra signs for the guy this summer and they walked right through where either shoulder could have touched one.

My wife keeps telling me to stop shooting the big stinky bucks and kill more doe. I tell her I would rather have both my legs cut off. Everytime I pull up and a rack is sticking out of the car she just rolls her eyes and gos ughhhhh that thing stinks.

Glad I dont hunt around there must have sounded like a war zone. Looks like you guys have an over population problem thats being fixed. Good for them. In the ten min I got to hunt before I shot my buck first day I heard maybe half a dozen shots then nothing. I tend to cut my own deer up because its what I like to do. If I had the money I would prolly have someone else do it and keep stacking them up till the tags ran out. Lots of deer out there folks. Had 4 bucks in my back yrd last night when I turned the back porch light on. If you get off the computer and hunt you might see some of them. If some of you guys put as much time and energy into scouting and hunting as you do sitting here bit--ing you might get something.

Checked my cam Friday and had 3 bucks on it a 20 in 8 point with long tines a buck I call blade because he has a heavy est. 20 in spike on the right side with a brow tine and 5 on a heavy pallmated rack on the left ( wierdest rack ive ever seen ) and # 1 on the hit list. and a basic run of the mill 7 point with a 16 inch spread all chasing a doe around in front of it. All pics were taken just before light. I still do not have a pic of the big 8 in day light which I think is probably why he is still alive. Blade comes to the cam all times of the day I have him there at 2am in the morn. and 12 noon on some days. He has driven me to maddness all bow season. Ive even gotten pics of him standing in front of the cam 20 min after ive left the woods. He knows the cam is there as I have just as many pics of his nose as I have of him standing just in front of it. He will mess up some day hope its the week of muzzleloader because I killed the 7 point with the 16 in spread 1st day after 20 min of sitting so Im after doe till then.

Thats why you have to get a little evil on state land and move hunters away from your spots. I go to the other side of the state land along the road and make a bunch of big scrapes and put hoof marks in them from an old deer hoof gun rack I bought just for the occasion. Then dont get caught but make some massive rubs on trees within view of the road. Hunters will flock to it and you will be alone in the woods on your side of the land

We have had people who were told they cannot hunt still build tree stands on the property. One guy built a nice ladder stand out of treated lumber which I chopped down with a machete and piled up under the tree for him. Then my uncle called him and asked him to remove his garbage. He was not happy but it was funny and I havent seen him up there again.

Unfortunately I cannot post pics as I sold my computer and no longer work where I could just use their computer. I visit the library to check for new jobs on the computer and Im sure you cant send pics from here. Ill send some if I get a chance from a friends computer but i doubt it. There are alot of storys on the internet about friendly grouse but I couldnt find anything explaining why.

Sold my Boat last month to fix the car. All the extra tree stands and ice fishing stuff the month before. All the un needed guns the month before. just have the bow the rifle and the muzzle loader left. down to the bare minimal now. They just dropped our hrs and raised our life insurance to double what i was paying so now im behind again on all the bills. Looking for a second full time job. have been out a total of 5 times this yr so far which is unheard of for me. Not sure I could sell the rest of my guns and bow or not tho. I guess Ill have to see how bad it gets. I might have to dust off the recurve.

So I was going to my car the other night and I heard a noise just inside the woods. I looked over and there was a grouse standing there. I made a squeeking noise with my mouth and it walked out of the woods into my yrd. I then made a drumming noise with my mouth and the thing ran right up to my feet and started scratching around in the grass. I just stood there still and didnt move. I was prolly standing there for 5 min when I decided my wife and daughter needed to see this so I reached into my pocket and hit the door lock on the car and the car horn beaped. The grouse never blinked an eye. My daughter came out on the porch and asked what i wanted I motioned for her to come up quitely and she did. As she rounded the car the grouse looked startled and froze. I told her to make a squeeking noise with her mouth. She bent down and made a squeeking noise with her mouth and the grouse walked up to her about a ft from her hand. Then my wife came out and knelt down beside her and started taking pics with a camera. It was really cool. I then had to leave for work so my wife and daughter walked forward alittle bit so I could back the car up and the grouse stood there the whole time. They said they stood there with it till it got to dark and they got to cold and they went inside. havent seen it since. I have heard of grouse who like to hang out with humans but i have never seen it till now. It was pretty neat.

I drive out to quiet land and never see a deer and on the way home they are all in peoples front yrds. So i stopped going deep into the woods and started hunting the back yrds and as close as possible to civilization. deer have learned the woods are dangerous places to be untill after dark so they sleep in the back yrds. I have deer right out my window in my pines as soon as the guns start booming and thats 40 yrds from the house. And as far as ATVS go I have killed more deer running from the neighbors as they go up the hill to there stands. As long as they stay off the property I hunt Its music to my ears because they usually come running right to me.

I scribe my name all over the camera. My bushnell has my name scribed on it inside and out about 10 times. anyone gets it they will have to do some work to get it off.

I bet the DEC would be more than happy to find out where it was. Especially after he shot something over it. MY dumbass cousin shot a doe over corn and didnt tagg it and his neighbor turned him in. Well after court costs and fines and gas and all the rest it was almost a grand. So continue to bait if you want but if you get caught your wallet and bank account may be lesser. He shot a spike the other day and my father helped him drag it out and the tag was in the ear and filled out completely with pen. he said hes never going to do that again.

My buddy who hunts in PA shot a 140 in 12 point. Not 50 yrds behind a duck hunter who had been shooting ducks along a river for 3 hrs. Deer never moved even after they walked passed it twice. third time it got nervous and stood up and he now hangs on his wall.

Better reread the regs. Any supplemental feeding of deer is illegal in NY even them visiting your bird feeder. : )

Sorry couldnt resist. There is always someone who posts one of these pics. Might as well post a pic jacking a deer at night.

Go to local gas station with a blown up pic and ask if you can post it at the desk with a reward for info. I have seen this work around where I live. My wife worked at a gas staion one time where they blew up pics of people who drove off without paying for gas and posted it at the front desk. You would be suprised how many people came back with stories of oh I forgot or oh I thought I had paid.
