ALL 10+ SHOT MAGAZINES ARE GONE
defrazzle replied to Lawdwaz's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
That's it! Also, please remember they only targeted "CLIPS" not revolvers or tubular magazines, these ARE NOT CLIPS. So, a revolver that has a 9 shot revolving drum or a tubular magazine on rifles or shotguns or FIXED rifle round holder is perfectly legal. So you can see that if you really wanted to keep that more than 7 round clip, whether 10 shot or 15 shot, just weld it to the gun or use JB Weld.......once welded on it is no longer a "CLIP". :-) It is now a magazine!! -

Exactly what he told me. Also, if you read the entire law that was passed, which I did of all 32 pages, you will read that many of the provisions do not go into affect up to one year from now. Some earlier, some later. I attached the law as a PDF file. NYS GUN LAW 2013.pdf -
ALL 10+ SHOT MAGAZINES ARE GONE

I spoke with a friend of mine who is a Lieutenant in the NYS Troopers and he told me that the larger clips, whether for hand gun or rifle can still be used, just don't load more than 7 rounds total in the clip/gun. Please note that tubular and/or other fixed ammunition holders are not clips. So, your .22 rifle that holds 15-18 rounds in it is perfectly legal, as well as your lever action .30-.30 or other lever caliber. I own a Henry .22 and a Glenfield .22 both with tubular magazines and they are still legal. -
Any Tech graduates going to the April 2013 Yearly Reunion? Any one go in the past?
-
While attending Brooklyn Tech, I lived on Irving Avenue, just south of Myrtle Avenue the border of Queens and Brooklyn. I took the Myrtle Ave "L" to Tech every morning and met my future wife who was attending St. Josephs H.S. one stop further than where I got off. The years of 1964 - 1968. Reading all the posts of later graduates really make me feel OLD! LOL LOL
-
Hey nycredneck - Maspeth? My parents had a house on 68th Road, right off the 69th Street exit of the LIE. If you REALLY want to fish/hunt, let me know and we could coordintate. Ice out on Moose Pond is usually around April - just in time for the trout season....LOL
-
Geez - with all these Technites we could start our own forum. So, as there is a commonality of Brooklyn Tech, I invite any of the past graduates to my camp.......fishing and hunting......in Bloomingdale, NY. 110,000 acres of wilderness, where you will not see another soul. Let me know and we can coordinate a visit. Google the location = Moose Pond, 12913 zip code.
-
WHOA - 3 technites in one night. Gotta play lotto today. LOL When did you all graduate or what years did you attend?
-
Graduated in 1968 - Aero- joined Military same year, went to South East Asia 2 years later....(FFW)... retired from military in1988.

Hi - I live in Bloomimgdale, NY and fullu understand your writing about the hunting up here. I don't need to be a member of a "club" as I have enough land (110,000 acres) behind my house. No, it's not mine, but I treat as mine. LOL

Hello Ralf.....my name is Ralf also. Immigrated to the USA and now live in the Adirondack Park...near Bloomingdale, NY. My sister still lives in Albertson, L.I. but when I visit, I need to leave in 2 days. Can't take the hectic pace anymore.

Fly-fisherman turned Hunter-new to hunting and to NY
defrazzle replied to Dr Ignominious Death's topic in Introductions
Welcome to the board or is it "bored" I never can tell anymore. NYS does have all sorts of opportunity to hunt and fish. I live in a park called "Adirondack Park" and behind my house I have 110,000 acres of wilderness, everthing from bears, whitetails, coyotes, lynx, moose, and sometimes I even see a human. LOL I am a fly fisherman myself and there is really good fishing up here. The famous Ausable and Saranac are with in a few miles of me and they are great. Anyway, enjoy your stay in NYS. -
Welcome ekp.....I remember selling one of my Brittany pups to someone in Salem. I like in Bloomingdale, NY

-

ALL 10+ SHOT MAGAZINES ARE GONE

I have a Ruger Mark I. The clip holds 9 rounds! My NYS Trooper told me just don't load more than 7 rounds and you will be OK. The real question will be whether or not all the manufactureres will now onstruct and sell clips that only hold 7 rounds......just for NYS? I don't think so. Welcome to 1 of 50 Communist States..... -
I had three Brittany's. My hunting buddy, "MIKE, a female, "Brandee" and we kept one of the pups from the last litter Brandee had and we named her, "Maggie". Now she is the only one left.

I can use some help in reloading and trying to find a wad brand and type that will work well with my components. The components are: 1. Hulls - Cheddite, 2 3/4", low brass, skived, smoooth outside and straight walls 2. Primer - Cheddite 3. Powder - Unique 4. Shot: - #6 - 1 1/8oz. 4. Wad - ????? Others are using the same powder (22 grains) and hulls, but they never mention what hull they used. My older Lyman Reloading Manual (2nd ed.) has a couple of loads for Federal Champion Plastic hulls using a Rem RXP12 wad or Champion 12C2 or Alcan Type #D. But nothing for the Cheddite hull. The only wads I have left are Winchester Western 12T for target loads. They are an orange color and have to be at least 25 years old! I did try two of these but they leave way too much between the shot and top of hull. Crimp then turns INTO the hull itself. Any advice would be helpfu. Is there anyon that could spare 2-3 wads of the type Rem RXP12 wad, Champion 12C2 and Alcan Type #D wads for me to try? Let me know - thanks.
