  1. Slugger09 - what model Moultrie was used to shoot those pics? I just got 2 D-55IR's but just mounted them 2 days ago. Will be interesting to see the quality. I have an older Moultrie that still works great - forgot the model # though.
  2. Check out this FOX-TV news story about bears. My son lived in this house two years ago (Tannersville, NY) before moving to Hunter NY. One morning just as he was about to open the storm door he wa surprised to see a bear laying on the deck right in front of the door. He was licking the grease pot on the gas grill! Lot's of bears in this area! http://www.fox23news.com/news/local/story/Bear-trouble-in-Greene-County-caught-on-camera/fv2Jj7KJ5EqiPfh4uQC7cg.cspx#.T_7Qs37liDQ.facebook
  3. Got a couple of bucks behind my camp in the Adirondacks, here are the latest pics. Will be going up tomorrow afternoon to see what other pics I got

  5. I buy my shot here - http://www.rotometals.com/product-p/LEAD_SHOT_RECLAIM_Clean.htm I don't buy the reclaimed shot as the price differential for new shot is not that much different. I never tried reclaimed shot so I do not know what it is like but for the price differential I buy new. Note that if you buy 2x25 pound bags the shipping is free and no tax! It was real funny when the mail man came to deliver the "small box" containing both bags! He said something like - What the h_ _ ll is in this box?
  6. Upstaterifle - if you are asking about my trail camera, it is a Moultrie, older model, LED lights takes 8 D cells. I forget exactely what model it is. If you are asking about the picture of my camp, that was taken with a Panasonic DMC-FH20 - great little pocket camera with 14 MEGA PIX and 8x zoom.
  7. Now you're talking! Get those experts in there......for digging and pulling that is. LOL
  8. You can always call Larry Benoit (he is 88 this year!) at: Larry Benoit Rt 100 Box 1440 Waterbury, VT. 05676 or Call 1-800-244-7478 I can drive there in about 1.5 hours! LOL
  9. Hey NFA-ADK - did U ever get those Benoit's videos?
  10. Yup...I know what you mean. I once joined a hunting club up here and they had a large lease. I helped build the cabin and bunk house, but as soon as hunting season opened, most of the members were more interested in drinking, playing cards and just getting away from their day to day life at home. Getting anyone up before daylight was a joke. So, this prompted me in finding and buying my own place. Now I have it all, 100,000+ acres at my doorstep, good fishing at the end of my road (Moosepond, St.Armand) and I get up and go out before daybreak!! No more waiting on others to to join me, unless I invite them!
  11. Geez - isn't there someone with you that does? I don't cook (inside the house) either, but the BBQ is my realm!
  12. Good points which I will take into consideration - thanks.
  13. That's an important facet to take care of the wife.. been there, done that.!!! LOL
  14. Realistically, most hunters don't get a deer/bear/moose/elk whatever, every year. OK, I suppose those with lots of time and money can, but the average hunter not. If hunting was so easy, they would not call it hunting, it would be called shooting. I hunt for the chase - anticipation - stalking and comraderie with like people. Pulling the trigger is the last step.
  15. Let's see who the last blogger will be on this topic........maybe me.
  16. OK - now we are getting somewhere. I know this topic is not about hunting, but maybe the "support" of hunting. In any case I am learning something new.
  17. Oh I know, boy do I know!!!
  18. Excellent points and pictures make it very clear. Still waiting with baited breath to see what the fix will be.
  19. My Moultrie has 8 D cells and runs just about 1 year. Of course the battery life also depends on how many times the unit triggers. Where I have it I get about 9-12 pictures a week. Triggered by everything from hares, coyotes, and deer.
  20. Got to go....so no more posts from me tonight. 6/7/12 LOL
  21. So maybe this unit is NOT a check valve, which means your check valve is somewhere else. Maybe a couple of hundred feet down the well!
  22. Well, (no pun intended), the spring could be part of the check valve, but why are there the two contacts? The only thing I can think of is that the unit you call the "Pumulator" is a device that senses pressure. When it is at the upper limit and the lower limit, the units two contacts go into action. Does that make sense?
