  1. I'm thinking of switching from Verizon to Sprint's $69.99 unlimited talk, text, and web plan. I'm just wondering how good their coverage is. It looks like their coverage is best along major highways. I hunt the Finger Lakes area and see on their map that area is a roam area. Anyone have any like or dislike about Sprint??? Thanks. Mike
  2. My buddy is color blind. When I'm tacking a deer his job is to stand at the spot of the last blood found. He does a pretty good job at it!!!!! I've read about using peroxide but I haven't tried it yet. I'm going to throw a bottle of it in the truck this season to see how it works. Good luck.
  3. Another vote for the Rage 2 blade!!!
  4. I sit til I either get cold or uncomfortable. Then I stand for 20 to 30 minutes or so. As far a shooting, I have shot at deer both while sitting and standing. I shot my buck last season while sitting, I didn't have time to stand up. If I had a choice, I would prefer to be standing when I shoot.
  5. I always believed it was better to hunt a week or 2 before the shotgun opener (Southern zone). I have killed 3 or 4 deer during this time and hit one I didn't recover. Last year my buddy called me up and asked me to hunt the second day of the Archery season, Oct 18th I think. We never had much luck that early but I went anyway. It's a 2 and a half hour drive to the property we hunt. After about 30 minutes in my stand I shot the biggest buck in my life! It was a big 8 point that grossed 147, netted 144 7/8, and weighed 205 dressed. I saw 4 other deer that morning to my surprise. We met a guy that bowhunts down the road from us and went out to lunch with him later in the season. He said he'd rather bowhunt the early season. The deer aren't spooked yet and easier to pattern, especially if you have trail cameras out. I'm a believer now. This season we plan on spending a few more days hunting in October!!!
  6. I have 2 Bushnell Trophy cams. Great cameras. I also have a Bushnell D40 which works pretty good for the money.
  7. I'm pulling 67 pounds on my 82nd Airborne.
  8. You should find one here: http://www.24hourcampfire.com/ubbthreads/ubbthreads.php/forums/14/2/Free_Classifieds
  9. I shoot an 08 Bowtech 82nd Airborne, set at 67 pounds.
  10. I'll admit I didn't use one for years. I hunted mostly out of a Tree Lounge climber. I felt very safe climbing up and down with this stand. After reading about numerous people falling I decided to buy a Loggy Bayou Transformer harness. With 2 kids I can't take a chance of falling. I also added a Fall Guy retractor strap. It is awesome, it works like a seat belt if you were to fall. Only negative is they are around $80 or so. If you have more than one stand it would get expensive quickly.
  11. I bought mine about 6 years ago when it was still $500. I also got the muzzleloader stamp for $125. At that time I didn't bowhunt much so I didn't get it. When I got back into bowhunting the price was up to $180. I think it was well worth it. I can't tell you how many times I waited in line at Walmart the night or 2 before the season started. What a pain! I just bought my son his license for $300 before the rates went up. The lady asked me,"You think he'll want to hunt?" I told her for $300 it's worth it for the fishing license alone!!!!
  12. They are still active. I agree the website is a bit behind the times. The Big Buck Club books come out every 2 years. I know they are still active, I just got my NYS Big Buck Club belt buckle in the mail about a month ago!!!! Bow kill 147 Gross 144 7/8 Net 205 Dressed Cayuga County
  13. I have 2 T/C Encores. My first is a S/S Black 50 cal I bought off my buddy for $400. The second is a S/S Camo Prohunter that was an impulse buy. I'm keeping the black one to give to my son when he's old enough.
  14. All my stands at the moment are around 12-14 feet. I may put one or 2 out this season a little higher but I know you can kill deer at 12-15 feet.
  15. Great idea! How does it hold up to bows that are 300 feet per second and faster? Do the arrows go deep enough to damage the fletchings? Thanks
