my 10 pointer -
Thanks everyone. Ok, I just got home from work about 5 pm yesterday, I rushed to change and get out to the stand. it took about 10 minutes to dress and i was out the door. My stand yesterday is about 300 yards from my house (right in my back woods) so about 5:15 I was in my stand and just lit a smoke. then ''CRACK'' i turned to my left and here he comes. He was no more than 5 feet from my tree right behind me. I do a 180 and draw. Im 20 feet up shooting almost straight down, and let it rip. The Lazer Eye lit red and he was off, he ran to my back trail as I saw the nock glowing and then he stoped and the lazer eye nock was on the ground. He just walked away, right out of sight. I climed down and went back to my house to give him time to bleed out. At that angle it was hard to place the arrow. seemed like a good shot to me tho. Finally its time to look and recover. I have my youngest boy (16 years old) get the quad and a few lights and my gerber blood light and off we go. We went right where the arrow dropped. It was coated in bright red blood. and the rain was washing the blood away quickley. We find the blood trail quickly (by the puddles) He walked right down the atv trail about 50 yards then into the thick. We lost the blood a few times, the gap of blood was getting farther and farther apart untill there was none. The rain did a number on the blood, even with the blood lights. I called up a good friend of mine and he was at my door by 8:30 so i sent my son in and I was off again. We went to the last spot of blood and went the path that was the easyest for a deer to go through. It seemed to go right in a 30 acre corn field behind my property. we walked the corn field with no signs of anything, it was time to call it quits. its now about 10:30 5 hours later with a dead end in sight. We jumped on the quad and went down the road to the corn field and nothing. I said lets just call it quits, Instead of taking the road back to my house we went between my land and the corn field, I turned off the road and no more than 10 feet in there he was. right in the opening around the field. We were about 20 feet from him when we walked the field but never went to the road. Ill tell you what, to adult men had one hell of a time loading this brute on the quad.

10 to 20 foot range for bow and the highest with a clean view for gun.

i own 25 acers as well. i see tons of deer. i have had deer come as close as 10 feet from me wile enjoying myself in the hottub. its quite a sight to see. but the big bucks are a rare sight in the daylight. i have seen them. but never the full body at one time, allways in the thick. the big boys only come out at night around me. they are real smart, thats why they live so long.. they avoid us at all costs. but some will dum up for the rut...... we hope....

there is no ease up. thats the point. you ease up and they walk right on over you. oh, am i 12 lol why? because i dont share your values? maybe you need to re-think your thoughts. if you need AR then you BETTER recycle everything... and i mean everything... and no one person in this world does, ''not everything'' use alteretive fule, GO GREEN... got your BIG truck? your BIG 50'' tv? every one seems to be stuck on it. it being ''BIG'' and wastes and spends more than they can handel... maybe we should regulate the size of your house to your income or your family size? what? lost your job? turn over your wife and kids because you cant afford to take care of them. dont worry the new regulation well remove you and put a new man in your house to do the job. an AR would just be the beginning, not a end. and i say we dont need it... hay man im sorry you dont see millions of big bucks trotting everywhere for your pleasure. tell you what i will do, ill go to a deer farm, buy one and tie it to your treestand for you. see, im all for it. you see, this is MY opinion. i dont need to be schooled on YOUR opinion. maybe, just maybe you need the schooling.

hay buddy life isnt fair is it. its called freedom, we, the people have to many restriction as it is. it sounds like you want to regulate everything.. tax tax tax you must work for the IRS i mean, who do you think you are to FORCE you crap, and it is crap, on others and you NEED to have the last word, dont you. just worry about yourself and let others worry about themselves. PS i looked like that in saudi wile protecting your freedom, and mine your wellcome

if you kill a 2.5 or even a 1.0 who realy gives a crap. the chance of the average hunter to even SEE a big buck in a lifetime is slim to nome. unless you own 1000's of acres and have tons of cash to feed the deer..... the average joe doesnt so why rob the man, woman or child the thrill of the hunt? there are plenty of deer out there, just look at the road sides a ton of dead deer, and a crap load of live deer in the woods. i mean realy, its just a deer. what do you think? we're running out of them? and if your just hunting for the rack, i hope you never get one. its food.. plain and simple people.... FOOD!!!! now enjoy your tuna 'samich' with a side of veal after your stem cell smoothy then pull the stick out of your a$$ and just leave the average man alone... well thats my take on it anyways

just bring a few extra arrows with field points. its fun when your not seeing any deer ;D

i found a stand in my woods some years ago. but.... the guy was still in it. he had the nerve to say the land owner said he could hunt there. well i said ( wile pulling out my 357 ) '' i dont recall ever saying that''..... '' because, you see, I am the land owner, and your in MY stand ''! its a realy nice stand, must of cost him $90 bucks. i have realy enjoyed that stand over the years.
