  1. Makes sense to me but unless someone speaks directly to a deer, I'm not sure how we can ever really confirm this. Sent from my SM-G991U using Tapatalk
  2. I live in white plains. Our property is 3 hours away in deposit. Just don't know if I can get back out there before season end. I was up there almost half the days in November. My wife will shoot me if I try leaving again. Sent from my SM-G991U using Tapatalk
  3. I've heard of sterling but never been. I've actually only hunted some Public land near our property in deposit. Only bird hunted thoigh. Sent from my SM-G991U using Tapatalk
  4. Thanks. I am in white plains and was hoping to use some remaining vacation days some place local. Hopefully I can get out there. Sent from my SM-G991U using Tapatalk

  7. Does anyone know of state forest in Putnam or Rockland I can hunt? Preferably one that may have a deer that lives there. I am pretty sure those are shotgun only areas Sent from my SM-G991U using Tapatalk
  8. I had to take it off my Browning because I would be deaf for a week everytime I shot a deer Sent from my SM-G991U using Tapatalk
  9. Totally dead. Supposed to rain from 5 pm to 8/9am. I am thinking of sleeping in tomorrow and doing an 8 to dark. Hard to stay motivated with 0 movement. Only 2 doe in an all say sit yesterday Sent from my SM-G991U using Tapatalk
  10. I haven't had an opening day this dead in almost a year.. Sent from my SM-G991U using Tapatalk
  11. Goodluck everyone going out tomorrow. Opening day of gun is always exciting. This pic is from 3 years ago on Thanksgiving. Does anyone know if he's still alive?? [emoji848][emoji3] I would be happy with his son or maybe even grandson. Sent from my SM-G991U using Tapatalk
  12. I've done this a couple of times. You can do it without whiskey or substitute with wine. I enjoy the heart. Sent from my SM-G991U using Tapatalk
  13. That snow year was the only time since I've been hunting that all 4 guys hunting our property shot something opening weekend. I doubt it will ever happen again Sent from my SM-G991U using Tapatalk

    PA trip

Love everything about this. I hope I can do the same with my son and Dad one day. Sent from my SM-G991U using Tapatalk
  15. I would sell the property. What species is that lol Sent from my SM-G991U using Tapatalk
  16. Too small or bad luck to shoot? Sent from my SM-G991U using Tapatalk
  17. Exciting day. Sucks it was ruined. That's the weird beauty of bowhunting, one step forward or back and you may get a shot. Do you use buck bomb to attract or just as cover scent? Always looking for new things to waste my money on [emoji4] Sent from my SM-G991U using Tapatalk
  18. Is it me or is he laughing at you? Sent from my SM-G991U using Tapatalk
  19. If you shoot a buck in PA with bow, your gun season is done? Sent from my SM-G991U using Tapatalk
  20. I'm sure there are spots that still have Turkey. There are an estimated 180K in NY according to DEC. However, that number was estimated between 250k and 300k in 2001. That's a huge difference. I dont trap so I didn't know of any law changes but that is interesting. Come to think of it, I hear coyotes a lot more now in 4o than I used to in the past. I am going to email DEC and see what they say and if there is any plan in place. Talking to my father and uncles who were hunting here in late 80s and early 90s said when they started hunting here they would rarely see Turkey and that changed. Hopefully they turn it around again. 21. My whole life, up until about 5 years ago we would see so many turkey on our property in the fall. Now all of a sudden we do not see 1. All year. The last few years we are lucky to see a couple pass through. Only 1 on camera all season. What the heck happened? Sent from my SM-G991U using Tapatalk
  22. First time shooting Kudupoint 125 grain with bleeders. I would recommend them as i have a 100% recovery rate with them [emoji4] I am coming from Rage Hypodermics, which I had success with but I already worry about too many things while hunting and don't want to worry about whether or not a mechanical would open properly or not. Also I think penetration will be less of an issue if I am forced to take a quartering to shot. They shoot very close to my field points. They were about 2 inches left and an inch or so high, it was an easy adjustment. I forgot to take pics but it looks like there was about 60° difference between entry and exit would so the arrow/head did continue to rotate as single bevels are supposed to. The lungs looked like they were gun shot. I am assuming that is because of the twisting knife effect but I honestly have never bothered to analyze damage before. Bloodtrail was light for the first 50 or so yards and then started to open up and was very easy to follow. Not like a mechanical, but plenty of blood. Blade went through ribcage, full pass through and into the dirt. It doesn't have any noticeable nicks and the blade is still sharp. As far as sharpening, I know the curved blade won't be easy to sharpen so I reached out to owner and he said "I have used a cylindrical diamond hone by hand. We are also about to introduce an adapter for the Lansky system" I don't know what the lansky system is but I guess that makes it easier. It was $54 for 3 which was a lot cheaper than some of the broadheads I've seen it compared against but I'm sure it's more than others. Pics are of blades after the shot.. If anyone is looking for a change, I would recommend these but again, I only have one kill of experience. [emoji1] Sent from my SM-G991U using Tapatalk
  23. So the spot I was hunting has few lanes to shoot through with a bow. This doe really gave me a workout today and only bowhunters would understand the difficulty in taking a deer, let a lone an older doe. 3 times I was at full draw waiting for her to step into a lane and she froze and went the other way. I couldn't believe it. Finally she took the last step and I released. Double lung. She went about 100-150 yds. Got to try my new kudupoint broadheads. I'll give a review separately for anyone interested. First time using a single bevel and I was impressed Sent from my SM-G991U using Tapatalk
  24. A few small bucks in groups and a few different groups of doe.. Looks like things haven't heated up by me but I was able to fill the freezer this AM. She made it a bitch to get a shot off so it makes the harvest even more satisfying. Sent from my SM-G991U using Tapatalk
  25. Can't imagine seeing deer like this where I hunt. What kind of food is there in Niagara County Sent from my SM-G991U using Tapatalk
