Thanks for the reassurance. Took him out this afternoon and it was amazing. Took him to a part of my uncles property full of acorns and made him find them so we can pick a spot. Lasted almost 90 mins and we actually saw a decent 6 pt. How old were your kids when you first took them hunting? I remember being 7 or 8 the first time I went with my dad. My son is almost 5 and is obsessed. He's been in the woods a bunch but never out with me. He's dying to go but I don't think he truly understands what it is yet. Should I try to take him out a couple of hours or too young? Few things get my heart pumping like a twig snapping, leave rustle. The snap/walk loud enough that you know it's a deer.. My heart is usually in my throat because I always have that hope it's the big one... followed pretty much every single time by the incredible deflation of seeing a spike or 4 pt pop it's head out [emoji1]. Growing up our hunting property was overrun with Turkey. Saw them everytime we were up there and sometimes flocks of 30+. It had been about 5 years since we've seen a lot of Turkey or even much sign on our property and all of a sudden it we had 4 straight days with sightings and flocks on 2 different cameras. Is anyone else seeing the same. Believe it or not, squirrels seemed like they were disappearing too and all of a sudden they're all over the place again. Hope it stays this way. So weird non of the links work anymore. Even from outdoor life's Twitter page. Basically what happened eas an arrow fell out of his quiver and stuck in the ground, blade up. He stepped on it and it went 10 inches into his leg, up passed his knee. He survived but his leg and nerves are jacked up if I remember correclty I dont even know how to delete this post now. Think I'm done for the year. Wanted to try some public land but decided to go up to my uncles place near Middletown. Saw 4 passing behind me around 415 but they busted me as I turned and they all took off. This little one stopped at about 50-60 yds and I took a shot. Tiny, but tender. I've always thought it would be great to have a piece of land bordering stateland. My thought was always if its not happening on your land you have public to work with. Didnt think of the issues that could come with it. Sent from my SM-G991U using Tapatalk
