Rifles in 2015 for Genesee County?
NYBuckHunter27 replied to NYBuckHunter27's topic in Rifle and Gun Hunting
BATAVIA — Gov. Andrew Cuomo has signed a law legalizing big game rifle hunting in Genesee County, Assemblyman Steve Hawley’s office announced Thursday evening. “This is a win for sportsmen who treasure hunting as a right of passage they share with their children, and for the families who use hunting to help put food on the table in an effort to combat the costs of living in New York state,” Hawley, R-Batavia said in a news release. “I want to thank my colleagues who supported this bill in the Assembly and Senate so it could make its way to the governor’s desk.” Genesee was among four counties statewide requesting the change. The legislation includes a two-year “sunset provision,” meaning it will need to be extended by the County Legislature in 2017. Wyoming County initially approved its rifle hunting law in 2011. It became permanent two years later. Livingston County’s law became permanent in 2014. -

Some of the disks are still in plastic covering.Selling for $35.00 shipped to your door or $30.00 if you meet to pickup. thanks guys!

Assembly passes bill for rifle hunting in Genesee County posted by Howard B. Owens in hunting, outdoors. Press release: Assemblyman Steve Hawley (R,C,I-Batavia) today announced that the Assembly has passed a bill to authorize big game rifle hunting inGenesee County. Assembly Bill 4367-A passed the house Monday and passed the Senate earlier this year. Hawley, a longtime proponent of sportsmen and an opponent of the SAFE-Act, introduced the legislation in January. “As an unwavering supporter of sportsmen and the Second Amendment, I am proud to announce that my legislation has overwhelmingly passed the Assembly and will be sent to the governor for his signature,” Hawley said. “Deer hunting is a mainstay here in Western New York and many families rely on venison as a viable substitute as grocery store meat prices continue to rise. The exhilaration of a young hunter getting his or her first buck cannot be replicated and I am proud to have made that possible.” -
These proposals i had no idea about... Fellow member, Legislation has been introduced (A8021 and S5807) by Assemblywoman Gunther and Senator Gallivan which would allow the crossbow to be used with bow privilege (instead of muzzleloader privilege), eliminate the 200 pound restriction, allow it to be used during the Columbus Day youth firearm hunt and allow crossbows to be used for bowfishing. NYB opposes these changes. There are several safety concerns that have been explained in a letter which we have sent to select members of the legislature. We ask that you take a look at the letter which will appear when you click on the following link and if you are in agreement to please follow directions on that page. Please “Click Here” to see the letter and send emails. The emails will take a minute. When you have a few minutes please make three phone calls. We have created a phone alert which gives you the names and phone numbers of the legislators along with clear talking points. To access the phone portion of this alert "click here".
