  1. i dont shoot the small ones, even tho they are giving me tags. I shot one before with the bow a long time ago, wasnt much meat at all. tasted awesome.. but just not wired to shoot them small ones, unless it was a terrible season and needed some meat or shot one by accident. besides, i drive up there almost 40 minutes, see a small one shoot it blow the woods out and see nothing the rest of the night or i sit and more deer show up, which seemed to be the case where i was.
  2. yeah see thats what i was trying to find out how often to add pellets. im sure it doesnt need to smoke for more then a few hours before putting it in foil to finish out
  3. nice thanks for the info, ill check it out. how do you like your masterbuilt? thats what i have also
  4. i have the kit from sausage maker, my buddy did it and it came out great. he had some pickled jalapenos and high temp pepper jack cheese. i liked it.. Do you use a kit or your own recipe? i also want to make sweet sausage with hog casings.
  5. oh ok, looked like something other then what was planted on the top part of the plot. like some sort of undergrowth.
  6. I dont think she was barren... She had very big nipples and the milk sack was there. rutting activity in my area was extremely low. unless majority took place at night, myself among many others who had logged a ton of hours agreed, rutting activity was as low as it could be. Maybe she didnt happen to take? She was a very large doe, even the trooper said she was prob carrying a fetus, but she wasnt.
  7. i can see spots in your plot where vegetation came back through, i had a few spots like that too after they nailed it down.
  8. yeah was thinking about that tool at the time when i had the wheeler... im sure it would have worked fine for most of my needs. i actually rented a big commercial tiller over the summer that worked pretty well, planted maximum and PTT and deer radish which came in pretty nice but the deer nailed the heck out of it big time. used Lime, 0-20-20 and 46-0-0 then through down 10-10-10 month and half in. looking to get ground of my own this year, so we shall see...
  9. oh wait thought you were being dirty, Cluv lol
  10. you can bow hunt too if you signed up. they have designated spots for bow. no you dont have to ID a shed buck... as far as fetus are concerned, yeah it can happen... I came back from one of my hunts the other day and a huge doe was hit almost in front of my house. We stopped and she was still barley alive, neighbors were peering through the window. We were getting ready to try and finish her since she was hit in the head and then the trooper showed up. He was extremely nice. We dragged her onto the guys front lawn and he finished her off. We took her and he gave us a tag. She was so big we were all almost certain she had babies in her but when we dressed her she had nothing. she was really just that big.
  11. I demand pics!!Knock my socks off or take my socks off? Lol
  12. Hey phade, yeah saw that implementation before. I sold that 700efi last year. Did it take awhile to get through the sod plate? I assume you cut all the grasses down low, did you spray?
  13. im in HH come to me lets car pool lol i like the late season, plus they are giving us 2 tags a day to fill, so why not. meat in the freezer.
  14. Anyone into smoking food? what do you smoke? and does anyone have any tips for doing pork ribs, pulled pork or brisket? I have smoked food in smokers with a fire box but this one is electric and i like it so much better. I already did the pre burn in it yesterday so its ready to go. I will be doing summer sausage soon, just as soon as i get another doe down and ill start grinding and stuffing the casings and put them in the smoker. So who uses electric smokers?
  15. They do, but they don't tell us we have to shoot anythijg and everuthing. I don't know about you but small yearling aren't worth my time in dressing and drag out. There are plenty of deer out there and other guys who would shoot them. I'd like to put meat in my freezer and little ones ain't going to cut it. The way I see it is, they give us a season to reduce numbers, if another 500 deer are shot due to that season I'd say hunters are doing their part and they benefit from it. But if I'm seeing deer I don't feel the need to do all that work for a small one.
  16. I figured there were other variables but didn't get into them. Thanks for the info, I'm thinking about getting a tractor this year with a bottom plow setup and discs. Wonder if I could get away with just discs or maybe a tilller. But like you said it all depends on the ground your working
  17. Yeah I was on neimi also. Hunted it twice. Buddy missed a doe that slipped in behind and then next day I had a big doe come in but had no shot on. She 10 foot to clear a small hemlock row and I could have shot. How about you?
  18. there are alot of F properties tho and a few others that allow gun. thats all i am using as well. cant see headed in to an area i dont have a stand in or know and utilizing the bow... If im driving 35 min to hunt and can use gun in property i dont really know since this is my first year, then i am using it. lol
  19. F1a? i was in there... If you were hunting it lately im sure i saw your truck. are you in the parcel that directly borders the airport or one of the other ones?
  20. shock collar mine can get rather excited and anxious i so much as even show it to her and she sits and settles real quick. funny part is she only got hit with a voltage about 3 times and it was low. she remembered i always hit the sound beep before so she can understand after the beep comes the shock so now if she ever has it on, she hears that beep and it calms her down. only took a few days for her to get it... has a vibe button also. She only gets it put on maybe once a year if that. Some people are against it but ill tell ya, i had good experiences with it.
  21. maybe try dropping one or 2 of either the coconut or apple, seems like a lot of simple sugars. Although your body can use simple sugars after it dpends on what types of workouts your doing, simple sugars are carbs, obviously and when you insulin is spiked you have a higher rate for storage. Try just banana for now.. Kale is great in smoothies, not sure howmuch ginger your using but that can add some pep if you use to much lol
  22. maybe even try adding backing soda to the bath... its alkaline, i heard that helps
  23. Potassium is a great way to relive that. wont be the life savor you been looking for but it helps. What really will help is you, your not obviously costumed to the training yet but give it time. pain is gain, remember. As time goes on and your body starts to realize what your doing it will help that process and homeostasis will kick in and things will level out and the pain wont be as bad but that feeling is good tho, your doing things your body isnt used to, so when it does get a bit used to it, try throwing in some different movements here and there to keep it guessing. but dont forget to stretch before hand and after and eat some potassium. the pain is your muscles filling in with lactic acid, have a nice hot bath when you feel like that.
