I'm not speaking for/against your company, only Hiko, which is the one we experienced. Cancelling from them was a nightmare. And the savings turned out to be for a limited time. One quarter as I recall. Again, nothing against your company as I have no experience with you/them but from our foray into the realm of "savings", it was pretty much nothing but a scam.

we did sign up with one of 'em (Hiko) about a year or so ago and something happened that we didn't like, I don't remember what, but when we tried to cancel and revert to Central Hudson it took us MANY MONTHS and also threatening letters from a laywer to get us changed back. Beware and remember, if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. Proceed cautiously.

I've used ThinkPads for years as has my wife - we both love them. But correction: Lenovo is not owned by IBM. They were once upon a time, but IBM officially sold Lenovo quite a few years ago. Edit: Ok - somehow this is you guys' fault! You ask a question about laptops and I go to get up and the power cord of mine got wrapped on my foot. Yep, my laptop, while up and running, took about a 2 1/2 foot drop from a tv tray and crashed onto oak hardwood floors. The display was upright and on too. Still working, thank heaven. I'd probably better run some chkdsks etc on things though but a lot of other systems probably would of been toast.

I've run Lenovos for a long time, actually even before they were Lenovo! lol (Think IBM) But I run the higher end models, can't speak to the lower value laptops. The couple of times I've needed service it was EXCELLENT. They mail a prepaid shipping box, send it in, and it's back remarkably fast. Now, after the warranty period is probably a whole different ballgame.

YW - Glad you found them useful.

The memories are the best thing about the entire activity.

I had to go to Rhinebeck today to pick up a trailer part so I figured I'd take a ride while I was out. Checked out the Esopus Reservoir area, Ellenville, and then back over Minnewaska but the leaf situation was rather disappointing at best. Here are the shots I took if anyone's interested. The pictures are large so they load a bit slow. They're best viewed by using the down arrow in the middle bottom of the picture screen and selecting full screen. Don't shoot the messenger, no pro here. Click on the first jpg to start the slides Oct 24 Pictures

Hm, I just downloaded it using the link. Went to the .zip download file in Windows Explorer, right clicked on the file, clicked on "Extract All', told it where to put the extracted files and it worked fine. What issue did you have? It's been downloaded by 14 folks other than yourself. Anyone else have issues with the file?

BINGO - we have a winner - give that man a cupie doll! You're right. I am a lowly gun hunter. Why you ask? Because due to past injuries I'm unable to draw a traditional bow and the lobbyists and politicians choose to not allow me to use a crossbow, but that a whole different can of worms...

I agree with everything except the blue. Wasting it just really irks me to no end. As I said before, there are hungry people who it would feed. You don't want it? You just shooting it because it's a nuisance? You just like to kill? I don't care your reasoning for killing it, I'm fine with you're killing it for whatever reason, as long as it's taken in a legal manor. - I just get PO'd about wasting it.
-
And I bet the majority of the areas where deer are "overabundant", you have people who whine and *itch about them but refuse to let people hunt them. Drives me absolutely NUTS! (Short trip)
-
Well, put me in the 10% then I guess. I would really prefer to NOT kill a buck and take does. If I could trade my buck license for another doe tag, I'd do it in a heartbeat. Much better taste IMO. If you want does culled out but you're only a horny hunter - give a shout - I'll take out the baldies if you've got the tags! As for people who let the meat rot/go to waste; they should be hung by their heals and fed Ex-lax! (think about that... ) There are PLENTY of people out of work who would LOVE to have that to feed their families! Don't know anyone like that? You're lucky! But there are plenty of programs that will take donated meat, Feed The Hungry comes to mind. You want to shoot animals and just let 'em go to waste, take up yote hunting. No excuse for landowners either! Have a deer problem? Have N tags? I guarantee if you put the word out there will be more guys at your door begging for the tags then you could count and who will USE the animal vs wasting it. Alaska has the right idea regarding the wasting of game meat.

I'd better not.... I don't wanna get banned this early...

True, thanks CHC, been a long time since I had to help folks using a lantern and forgot about that. Them SOBs are BRIGHT

No, that'd be Sophia Loren.... this was just spaghetti sauce with squirrel simmered in it... But I suppose one would be tastier than the other - up to you which one.
-
Yep, flower 'em up and fry 'em - good stuff. Also go well in spaghetti sauce believe it or not.

Butchers give nothing away. Those days are long gone.

Will do! My Mother didn't raise any dumbies! Well... my sisters... but I digress... I'll get a pm to you. We may of met somewhere along the line - I worked there for 38 years.

20 cu ft commercial deep freezer in the basement. Missed your giveaway thread as I just returneth from NAHC-land. I even pick up and butcher myself - make it easy on yourself. Whack the ribs off and give a shout. Keep it cold and lemme know where to pick up... 'cept maybe if it's in the Bronkx... I can't drive down there worth a ****. lol

If you don't want to try DS or they won't take it. Try finding an old time liquid gas Coleman lantern. You know, the ones with the white fragile wick globes? Go out at night. They make the blood show up like it's under a black light. Worth a shot.
-
Hey shawn, if you need somewhere to get rid of the "other than rib" meat - give a shout!
-
I fall into the meat hunter category. I actually prefer young does, not fawns mind you, full grown but young. A friend of mine hunts for horns. The meat doesn't go to waste but he loves the bragging about horns. Personally, I don't see where it gives him bragging rights just because something with horns happened by, but that's just me.
