Interesting, but it looks like he's been a butcher for about 30 years

Well, that kind of "logic" isn't gonna sell a whole h*77 of a lot. My 500 Mossy with a 3x9 Leupold shoots as good/better than that without another piece of metal screwed to it.

Having a bit of problem following exactly what's going on here but if I'm reading right 1) you were sighted in 3" high at 100 2) you aimed at the top of the orange sticky (which means it would hit 3" above that at 100) 3) You hit about 8 1/2 " low. 3 down to the aim point and then about 5 1/2 down from there. Also 5" right. I guess I'm missing the point. Not trying to be a wiseazz, just missing it.

No idea. Someone ask this on the youtube link so maybe the OP will answer.

A bit late but I hope you had a good day!

I'll take my ball and go home... The most telling line: "Apparently, according to an anonymous Park Service ranger, “We’ve been told to make life as difficult for people as we can. It’s disgusting.” http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Government/2013/10/05/Feds-Try-to-Close-the-OCEAN-Because-of-Shutdown I hope people see that the Dems/Libs just are not willing to even sit down and try to negotiate a settlement to this whole fiasco. You may not agree with the pubs views but nothing's going to happen without discussions. Next election we should throw them all out and replace them with non-politicians. Not sure how ya go about doing that but these idiots, on both sides, certainly have lost sight of reality.

Was just answering the "can you carry a pistol while bowhunting" question.
-
Depends on your goals for the rifle. There are a MULTITUDE of loads available for an .06 for anything from varmint loads to something that will take down LARGE game. Especially if you think you may get into handloading, the possibilities expand even further. Purely for versitility, I'd probably go for the .06 with a muzzlebreak on it.
-
I'm not making any judgements about if this makes sense or not but: Q: I have a pistol permit, may I carry my handgun while bowhunting? A: No. While bowhunting during a special bow season, you may not possess a firearm of any description. http://www.dec.ny.gov/outdoor/8310.html

The most honest three minutes in television history
bluecoupe replied to Renegade Hunter's topic in General Chit Chat
Sadly, the truth. And sadly, I don't see the trend reversing. -
I don't think I ever had their chili but for yours, hit it with good amount of chili powder or something. Cheddar and onion always are good additions. For me personally, I don't think I'd be real fond of sour cream

I'm sure she's union so the likelyhood of any serious consequences are probably fairly small.

Exactly. It doesn't sound like they care but if the authorities get involved, they may.

Coming into this way late... I'll relate my chipmonk story and think about recanting one in the same vain as what burmjohn brought out (pun intended... ) A LONG time ago I was hunting in the Alleghany Mountains in PA. Beautiful day, fresh fallen snow, nice sunny day... Well, this freekin' chipmonk decided to sit on the end of a log about 10 feet away from me and chirp - constantly at me. This kept up for a good 15 minutes while I tried "shushing" the little sob away. Finally I said outloud "Mr. Chipmonk, you've got exactly 5 minutes to stop". You'd figure that he'd of run with my voice, but nooooooooo. Well, five minutes later it was still doing it. They don't stand up too well to a 150gr .300 Savage 99e.

I understand your point ncountry. I was born and raised in the woods of NW PA. Encounters with black bears were very common. Everyone swears that there are no mountain lion in the area but I saw one once staring down at me from the top of a cliff.... Attack wasn't the reason for my statement about killing any yote I see. It was because they proliferate like bunnies but are far more harmful than the little cottontails. Hopefully we won't have to start dealing with feral hogs as well.

Happy birthday youngin'

Yep. Used to have 30 acres in Stratford, NY with a 35' trailer on it and a 12x12 shed. Some kids broke in, destroying an entry and screen door in the process. They had to be looking for booze. There was none so they proceeded to break a big glass canister we had, destroy the panels on the fridge/freezer, stole my fishing stuff and tools out of the shed. OH and a 21" flatscreen TV/VCR. I would of LOVED to have seen their faces when they realized that the TV was 12V! But my wife never was able to get over the "violated" feeling so we sold the place. Wasn't any good for hunting anyhow. The locals didn't wait for seasons to take deer so by the time it opened there wasn't much left. I just don't fit into the renegade mold and don't have much use for people that do so I wasn't opposed to dumping the place. It was beautiful though other than the people.

Any yote I see is a dead yote if possible. I take them to a friend of mine who's rather down on his luck these days and he sells the skins.
-
Unbelievable that some idiot scumbag/s would go so far as to cut down trees to get them. It seems like the proportion of good people vs scumbags is getting way out of whack.
-
hmmm, maybe I should re-think using Adblock Plus.
-
Dang nice deer! Good luck!! From the title, I thought it was gonna be a success story. Maybe that's to come...
-
Happy Birthday! I hope you got lucky! And got a deer, get your mind out of the gutter.

http://oklahomastationsci.org/news/The-Truth-about-chiggers.html Like Danny, I use Sawyer Permathin on my clothes. I'm not sure about chiggers but I've seen deer ticks jump on me and immediately drop off dead.
