  1. hi danny i know spot 3 very well in rocky point. i've hunted that spot for years. its a great spot to see deer and have chances at harvesting one. the trail system is clearly marked, there are open fields in which the deer feed and good places to set up a ground blind or climb a tree. it's really good when the small game hunters are in the woods walking their dogs and hunting.they move deer at all times of the day. good luck and stay safe.
  2. the pictures of those bucks dosent seem odd to anyone? do you really believe 1 piece of land can grow that many deer that size here in new york. and the picture of the mature buck and yearling buck are father and son.
  3. vince rocky point is very large. something like 5,600 acres. theres plenty of room .try spots 1 thru 6 on the west side of rocky point rd heading north.there are well defined walking trails and lots of deer.good luck.
  4. last year i purchased from the sportsman guide a hang-on tree stand and climbing sticks for 70 dollars. i did some minor modifcations to the stand to make it more comfy and sturdy and it worked great all year. i too use screw-ins the first 6 feet up to deter any would be person from using it or stealing it.i just hide the screw-ins near the stand. check sportsmans guide they have great deals.
  5. i would have a really hard time shooting that buck .he is much to beautiful a buck.
  6. big Nascar fan here have family in Nascar. go 88
  7. hi steve yes thats correct. the county park bow hunting program for westchester is based on passing a proficiency test and attending a mandatory orientation meeting in the fall.try googling the park where you wish to hunt and it should have an explanation of this procedure and who to contact.
  8. hey biz call them and ask where you will be hunting. i called them and was told id be hunting on the same property that everyone in the lottery hunts on. they do not have private property for the jan. shotgun season. they do for bow hunting. let me know what they say. good luck JT........
  9. hi Biz i have really no idea thats why i posted this topic.any suggestions? thanks JT......
  10. Hi im just wondering if anyone out there from long island does any deer hunting in maine.i have an interest in going up there for a deer hunt.any info would be great or possibly someone from LI interested in going. let me know. thanks JT...
  11. i always give the momma and her fawns a pass . i do not have the heart to shoot the mother with her fawns . i also could never ever shoot a fawn. there are plenty of deer in the woods to be harvested.if one knows what they are doing.
  12. Spoiled and cheap. A Pheasant run membership cost upwards of 1200 to 1800 a year to join maybe even more. Pheasant run is grabbing at straws now by having someone post on here nothing but a fairytale. Someone from pheasant Run posts on craigslist looking for members.Craigslist ! that tells you all you need to know. The club is in ruins and he cant avoid all the bad press from old members who had wasted their hard earned money. first craigslist and now a happy member on here. its comical!
  13. some people on this site must have nothing better to do than to just sit around and type replys to these blogs without using any sense of thought or logic. to read some of these responses just makes me shake my head. how dare anyone say ANY law enforcement officer is overpaid. tell the suffolk county police officer's family who was killed in a car accident. or the numerous other long island police officers slain in the line of duty recently. just like ants said and by the way that couldnt be more true. F%%K em
  14. my point is buck hunter that cross bows belong in the gun season. and im glad everywhere i bow hunt has the same opinion. and for you phillyguns i did not say a firearm, i said weapon. enough said.
  15. any weapon that has a stock. trigger, scope and is pre loaded to shot is not a bow and does not belong in the archery season. leave it in the gun season where belongs. of course persons with a health issue and have the permit can use it where they are able. and they now have string releases for bows that a person unable to draw the bow can use.
  16. up untill now i have refrained from commenting or posting on this forum for the most part. but seeing the picture of that poor little button buck that was shot really has my ire up.i dont care who shot it or what his reason were for shooting it. theres no reason for it at all in my opinion.is someone that desperate to shoot something ! .that has to be the only reason for shooting something so small.let alone it being a button buck! what other reason could there be ! i'm sure this post will draw its share of grief.i dont care.
  17. hi robinson. your orignal post to start this thread said you have a few buddies who come up every year with a load of tags. and a later post said they fill or filled most of them. i'm just curious how much land does your family own? and to answer your question. no i do not know you or your family. i do not live up there year round.i do however go up there quite often. i have a good friend who does. and im sure he knows your dad. tks Jon....
  18. I'm finally glad other people are starting to see what that club is really about. what kind of hunting club posts on craigslist looking for members telling all lies.the club must be in a dire straights to do that.i was a member as well for 5 years. everything the above mentioned post is 100% true. hunters be leary of joining that club. tks
  19. i have a place in gilbertsville, and altought i do not know robinson or any of his friends, but just to read his post looking for help is very disturbing.to let a bunch of guys come up with all those tags.how do guys from putnam get so many tags in the 4 region when some of us who have places up here cant even get them. and then to ask the forum for help to get more.somethings not legit. wow !
  20. Gino congrats on the property in Otsego county., i have 15 acres in otsego county as well right off route 51 and route 8. good deer hunting up thereagain good luck !.
  21. I got number 283. Not a bad number. should get a good spot on a good day. good luck everyone.
  22. Robinson i belong to the same club. my place in just minutes from the club in gilbertsville. I was never told i could not shoot my gun during bow season. Only that the range closes after a certain date.We all pay the same amount to use all of what the club has to offer. and this is prime time to sight in the guns for the up comming season. the club has over 130 acres to use as you see fit. why on earth would your stand be 50 yards from the active shooting range? i dont understand. you can never trust anyone else with your safety but you.Be smarter and find a different spot.

    Suffolk Land

i just read the article. most of that property is what pheasant run sportsmsan club is on.the 150 acres off spinney rd. that piece is sold and will be suffolk parkland .they also mention the adjoining 450 acres are being appraised and will be sold as well to become parkland.i always knew pheasant run didnt have rights to be on most of that land.now we can all enjoy that land for hardly nothing.and not have to pay the ridiculous price of joining that club
  24. HI. I WAS WONDERING IF ANYONE NEW HAS JOINED OR ANY OLD MEMBERS HAVE REJOINED PHEASANT RUN SPORTSMAN CLUB. THE OWNER HAS BEEN CALLING ME FOR DUES AND PROMISING THE SUN. AND AFTER LAST YEARS DIASTER OF A YEAR WAS WONDERING IF ANYTHING NEW WAS GOING ON WITH THE CLUB. THANKS JT....
