I won a few things but just got the Duel Grunter out I won...Wow I like it...It has a hand held set up and a hands free one...you take off mouth piece insert a long tube to a T valve you pin up by your shoulder blade then insert a smaller tube section to that so you can just pick it up with your mouth on a draw..you can be at full draw on your deer and grunt him...works slick....Sound is great.

Well then he really lost me, because I skimmed over that again and just did not catch "deers". but thought it would open some discussion...

So I thought some of you would like a good read:

I'm headed out at 3:30 or 4...I'm looking at a straight west wind which is great for here..and the stand I'm going to...the temps are looking good for a hang as well.

I suppose it's what your use to....I am use to hunting woods where deer come in fast and close or out there and standing still....my aim is pretty dang good and when I have a deer I know won't be stopping. but not on a full board run...I want that bead for I lead them and and wait, I want that very full picture ....I love the x-bow scope..and no problem with the ML or 243..but with my shotgun...my preferred weapon never... last year lead and shot 73 yrds trotting through opening in thick slashings...9point coming in pretty fast at around 20..lead him and shot...doe standing 110 yrds..doe 96yrds...I can't find the old shovel nose 8pt I took a couple of years after we moved here, but that was a heart slit at less then 10yrds and he still ran for the line making me have to take a quick shot through trees for a upper shoulder lower neck shot..which is what I was saying out loud to my self at the time..it somersaulted him. Just a very few examples...I would never have gotten a few of them had I tried getting them acquired in the scope..Just the way I am..

Getting good movement across property now big boys not showing yet though... a 5pt and doe visit the mock scrape cam daily...

Why you addressed that to me..I don't know..I was addressing everyone in general...I also never said anyone nor I look under are beds for the Boogy man ...but only a FOOL. ..doesn't stay aware of their surroundings...Now you can take that comment personally or not..That's up to you.

Got the blind repaired inside and out and installed more poisoning all the blinds..good to go ...Now deer are off the corn and in my plots ...lots of day pics on doe and young buck....they are nibbling the turnips and the WR is up 2"s....I have to say...the are loving the chicory plus ...

The hours in which you've tagged a deer...have been the best hunting hours for me

Too bad...I won't leave a deer the whole night....I've left the house at mid night and got the deer out at 4a.m. before....eyes watching me gut..me talking loudly the entire time...

Every single one of you should be a little "afraid" when entering the woods. It is what keeps your senses on high alert and it is your best defense against EVERYTHING...Even that crack before the limb hits you. or the sound of that slug whistling through the limbs, and the sound of brush or hoofs hitting the ground charging you.... I dare say there isn't one of you that aren't locking your car doors driving through certain neighbor hoods,looking all around going to your car in the mall,looking over your shoulder opening your hotel room door...the list goes on and on... Know your surroundings and be a little afraid.

Joking aside Doc your right, that's when putting ones imagination and just a tad of knowledge to work is important..like actually reading up on some of the animals one encounters in the woods and how they react in battle with other predators...what are their vulnerabilities, when never to run and when to stand and fight or run like hell...how will an attack present, know body language ie...legs,upper body, lunge to throat.....hell even with a skunk, imperative to protect your eyes..they can literally blind you...Just go learn something and use your brains. Bears...media has time and again shown in a grizzly attack you have few options..way bigger,way faster and even a gun shot can take to long..so play dead...once they see no movement,they save kill for later..some have survived doing this...but that's not a blk. bear like we have...you don't fight...they don't save their kill for later...you'll be eaten period. So use that imagination on what you can do if you haven't a gun...bows are inadequate...but you carry a knife and wear gripping gloves...and bow or not you have very sharp broad heads made for puncturing hide ..all animals have eyes and throats and soft underbellies...know that in an initial attack you won't even feel the pain and adrenaline makes you by far stronger than you may think...know these things ahead of time, so you can think in real time.

I'm sitting here reading some absolutely stupid clueless posts...I have been to the hospital 3 times With dog bites. Had part of my finger bitten off so fast I didn't realize it was even gone. Had a dog smaller than a yote attach it's self to my arm and the only thing that saved me from permanent nerve damage was I had presence of mind to...1 not pull back and 2 keep it from shaking. Not built to fight? Ha ! you you know that even a parrot..Yes a 2 # bird, has enough psi in it's bite to sever a child's hand off at the wrist? Fact, they aren't built to fight either. clueless people...

Change of plans...We went to gun store in PA ...picked up a few things ,New Horndy 243 s no for me and bow wax....somethings for Mr B. To drove over to Watkins Glen to Famous Brands(?) Tried on boots and shoes....I got some nice slip on Dannkos ...then realised we were enjoying the drive and such...for git lunch until 3 pm...So came home and had sausage and left overs....hunt in morning for me and then headed to camp to mow and check stands..blaze some trails with the DR while he knows...last time I did that I jumped a black bear on the way to my why.pine stand...little scary...lol BTW..for guys with bosses..when they rarely take any time off...and never "vacation"....DO NOT CALL THEM FOR ANYTHING. His phone rang non stop...and his text messaging blew up...We reminisced about the 70's as we cruised listening to that music on Sirrus...how there were no cell phones and you couldn't be reached, no one wanted to. They figured stuff out or just waited. I miss those days! But we had a simple,great time.

I Wore gloves and masks cleaning blinds . Then took a spray bottle with bleach water to spray and wipe all surfaces I may touch or they had left droppings across...What a PITA...That first 6 years of no problems spoiled me..Then I found seat I made from an old school chair...I used an old pillow and shower curtain to water proof cover it....8 years and not one problem.. go to ratchet up a loose side..seat is all chewed up...I hope I killed a bunch when I seriously plopped my fanny down on that cover a few times! Take that!

Avon NY many years ago...driving the back road that comes out on 5/20 just above Avons DEC offices. First week of April, a huge 8 or 10 stood plain as day in a pasture near a barn, not all that far from where the gravel plant is. So big that I backed the car up to make sure he,was real...He watched me watching him then trotted over and jumped the fence.. I have no doubt that buck was still capable of breeding a doe.
