We have a 38 horse JD we bought years ago...waited and waited for a good deal. Got on Dealers call list for good trade ins coming in. Managed tractor front end loader and a backhoe for under 20.000 it was just 2yrs old,very low hours and a trade in...guy wanted a bigger one and had lots of $$$$....Knock on wood...never a problem and I work it hard...we added a mower,York rake, disc ,and forks...Our drive is 300ft long and when the snows are bad...the front end loader is great...allows us to keep the snow away from drive scoop and drive away...

Someone said cool temps this weekend...God bless them because here, we are going into the mid to high 70's day temps and then 60's at night...next week looks miserable weather wise...warm day and night with rain due during morning /night when temps are a bit cooler,as it were. Looks like I'll hit some stands I haven't but might be on an observation setting. Been hunting doe thus far haven't really put an effort into bring in the buck quite yet...a mock scrape and a little scent...no calling nor rattling...decoys are not coming out just yet. I just finish the last of garden tomatoes and have to pickle the last of jalapeno peppers...tired of having to rush and push things...I get a deer I don't want it to be a PITA after I get it...rush,rush, rush....Switching to turkey mode for a time.

Sounds great...but just 2 cups of our will wobble your eyes...lol...I'll have to get Mr B to give me the recipe...

Congrats Stone and AT...So this morning seems to have had a theme...for I woke a half hour late due to alarm not going off...actually some how got on vibrate instead of sound...any ways I ended up only 15 mins late...didn't bump anything on way in and the wind was blowing good. Sat in Garden blind and saw...ABSOLUTELY ZIP!..lol Notice caps...well that's because I pulled cards on the way out at 8:50. Tummy was not co-operating....they started at 17:11 last night and fed in the clover plots until 2am and then poof gone...while I was...down the hill seeing triplets and nothing else...They are winning this match thus far....hhhmmmm

Triplets..n o mom . they had me stuck in blind until 7pm...what a beautiful night ,full moon ,not to cold I Left house at 3pm..walked road d one hill,glance over to stand I was in this am..wide racked dark buck...standing 5 yrds in front of it...Lol figures....I just kept walking..

Thanks...I was having a tough time as the morning went on. When I had the tummy kick in, in full, I had to bump deer in the plot to leave...just Mr 5pt from what I could see, not sure..a bit queasy but doing great compared too.....

Man I had the BEST time this morning and learned more about turkey behavior than I think I've learned in 40 years!...So I had company from sunrise...doe and twins in picture came out under the apple trees stand across from where I was sitting. Then walked up to the goat barn and turnips then into the beans /hemp. Meanwhile I was frozen because the turkeys had landed and they were purring and clucking, the Toms gobbling behind me...Our road was non stop traffic and the twit that honked the other day is now honking each time they drive by the pumpkin plot. Don't know if it's...I've almost or hit one or I don't like hunters...Oh well, didn't seem to bother the deer in the tall hemp hiding out...They left without coming my way..wouldn't have shot she's still nursing. The turkeys then came in and until 8:30 am they put on quite the show. I now know how much my cams miss...there were 17 birds in this group shown the day before. The big Toms never made a showing but the jakes were a mean nasty bunch and there were several different posturing/circling tiffs happening. Oh man....the new sounds they let me hear,it was wild.. Then behind the Mulberry tree a fight broke out.Pic one...next thing I know the hens are scurrying into the woods and the Jakes are running for the fight. 8 birds stayed...Then it got fun, the two birds were going at it and the others huddled around them so neither could brake away. Then the bigger of those 2 grabbed...well..... if turkeys had ears I'd have go with that...hahaha...the side of the others head. Now all 8 in that tight group went around and around that clover plot as the smaller bird was dragged by his head...I got dizzy from holding my mouth trying not to laugh out loud...They were all making this sound ...ALL of them, as this went on for 10 mins or so. My best description is wiggle,wiggle,wiggle,wiggle.wiggle...hahahaha So 8 birds doing this in unison...Then they took turns beating on this poor bird until he laid down. In the meantime a few of the others were having tiffs within the group but none broke the moving bundle of birds...well it ended with them continuing into the woods and on their merry way...still a ball of heads and feathers...Here's just a couple of shots that cams picked up...

Lol...raising animals...you watch shite closely.to avoid vet bills....I watch deer to see herd health...after season starts I look for blood in scat..winter checks let me know how hard the weather is on them..always something to learn.

Congrats to her and you! Yes hard to let them fly..but when you see them soaring....that's a beautiful thing!

I've been seeing them on our place for a few years now...neat watching them run through the woods when in the blinds. I found a dead male next to a big old hollow maple this spring ...besides being dead ...They stink!
