  1. Just got a passing thunder shower for about 25 minutes! It's better than nothing! Needed this bad! Yesterday, I actually filled up my 170gal tank two times and watered my pumkins and mellons
  2. I was cutting my clover today and during my third pass a hen was 5 feet from the tractor and didn't want to leave. She finally ran off. I figured her little ones had to be close. Sure enough they were chirping away in the tall clover. I left the area asap.
  3. Dave, some put down all the N at planting and some put half the rate at planting and 30 days later put the rest down. Some also don't put anything down at planting and add it later. I have done it all three ways. all good results. corn needs it on the 30 day plus mark. I don't use the luquid, so I top dress it right before a rain. Make sure rain is in the forcast! U don't want to throw your money away. If your soil also needs p and k, I add that when I disc the field.
  4. I also get my rr corn from NWTF at $10 a bag. Helps cut down seed cost.
  5. Dave, you would use urea(46-0-0) at $22 a bag so 8 bags would do. To cut down on cost I plant soybeans or winter rye one year and corn the following to get the free N produced by them.
  6. corn needs 150-200lbs of N and needs a clean field bed to produce a good yield.
  7. If you want it to be oats again than you need cut it asap. Wait till you get a volunteer crop of wheat and spray it with a hot dose of gly. Disc in mid to late August and plant your oats. Good luck!
  8. WD, that's for young new growth wheat. The only bennefit the wheat has at maturity is the seed heads , which deer will eat. These are some options: You can spray it know with gly(41%), work the ground in mid july and plant brassica. You can let it go to it matures and develope seed, top dress brassica into it and than cut the wheat.(no till) Here you will have a volunteer crop of wheat and brassica stand. If you want it do be a perenial plot. spray gly to kill the wheat, work the ground mid august and plant your clover with a cover crop of wheat or oats.
  9. Dave, I have only used post emergents but wanted to use a pre-emergent next year. I would love to use atrazine but it's restricted. I'm looking at Surestart, Prowl H20 and Lachlor II.
  10. Just wondering what you all use for a pre-emergent herbicide for corn?
  11. Video of me doing the rain dance......not going to happen. lol
  12. I think it has a frog? Pretty cool picture.
  13. went to the farm today and to say we need rain is an understatement. The ground is crusty and cracked. Weeds have taken over my soybeans and corn. I sprayed the fields with gly and top dressed the corn with some urea. Weather called for showers today.....I HOPE SO! ps. Also, I have no apples this year
  14. I do see berseem clover. I stand corrected. Just couldn't tell from prior picture. I would spray for grass.
  15. doesn't look like clover. Alfalfa maybe? Most of the seed in WI clover is berseem. That's not berseem clover. Need a close up picture.
  16. Phade, what do you mean no financials? Every company has financials. It's just the reporting aspect that changes.
