LIVE From The Woods 2020 - Let's hear stories and see some pictures!

Well move went well, I threw my back out 10 minutes into helping the movers ( shitty dang deal). Im so fortunate my 12 yr old stepped up and helped big time! I’m currently knee deep in whiskey to help loosen my muscles:-) Tomorrow’s a no go as hopefully I can get around. Cleaning old house up and setting up Xmas tree in our new home. Sunday back willing were gonna make it happen! -
I would weed kill, till and plant. Clover takes time to get going so I wouldn’t plant in the fall.

Completely normal, I think it’s just a natural progression most of us have or will go thru!! No worries!

Thanks guys. We had the vet come to the house which I highly suggest to anyone that has to put there dog down. Our dog was very comfortable I think by being home. I originally thought about putting her next to our pond at the land but time, but a few factors redirected us to a crematory for pets.

There was nothing wrong with this particular deer. To say you did it a favor is highly inaccurate and I think disrespectful to the life of a deer. If it’s wounded then yes you did it a favor. I have never shot a perfectly healthy deer and thought I did it a favor. But to suggest saying you did the deer a favor by shooting it based on events that may or may not happen throughout a deers life is insane.

Well today’s the day, within the hr, wife and I are not looking forward to this one. I made her a good human food meal this afternoon for her last meal and she loved it! Sadly it’s time :-(

Did it a favor? That’s the craziest thing I’ve heard in awhile. Sorry Eddie

No power washer. I hung his head from a branch for now until we can get to him. We’re moving this Friday and wanna get somewhat organized and get our x mass tree Saturday plus try and get a couple hunts in! I have a turkey fryer base so I’ll try and boil that sucker and let my kid work on cleaning him up! -
White and always white:-) from now on!

Great point Steve, buy a local tree or a fake one made in some freaking plant in “China”( how Trump says China). I’ll take a real one every time!

Now I think we have a flag pole expert member, Red maybe?? Anyways the house we’re buying is set back about 300ft off the road with a great front yard and I’d like to get a flag pole, 20-30ft tall ish. Are they a pain to install? Certain brands? I need some guidance, prices don’t look to shabby for the pole.

So this am I was at the new house letting the painters in when I looked out the back window and saw a turkey vulture sitting on a limb from a dead ash tree that had fallen down, this tree is on the edge of thick brush and tall grass, anyways I watched the bird disappear into the tall grass and I knew something was in there. Went back tonight to check on the painting progress and then took my son for a walk out back in search of whatever the vulture found, didn’t take long to find. Looked like he was there for awhile and no way to tell what may have happened. I’m really gonna like our back yard for hunting!- 8220 replies

I snuck out for an hr sit over the food plot nearly every trail cam pics at night and they are using the heck out of it. Hoping these cold temps get them going earlier. It’s a warm 50 degrees in the blind! -
Find a local NWTF chapter and you can get rr corn for the cheapest price you will get!

A brand of seed broadcasters. Googles your friend as is YouTube, u got lots of videos to watch, that’s where I picked up a ton of info, watching vids -
I stopped by my local Kubota dealer the other day, their 850 sidekick goes 40mph, not to shabby, has everything I could ask for plus I’d want a plow and they have the traditional manual plow with winch and a hydraulic setup. @moogs mentioned size being an issue for him, I fit ok, little tight getting in and out with the door. Biggest thing was my legs/feet being so long that I could barely bend my foot for the gas petal. I feel like my lower legs would get sore after a short while. I’ll have to go when I have some time to test driver her. Next up is the Honda Pioneer 700 or 1000. A lot of places are extremely thin on inventory which is challenging.

Easy to plant you just need a good soil 6+ ph. YouTube frost seeding and check out Whitetail Institutes website, you won’t find better clover. Tons of info start reading and watching!
