Transgender Military Ban
Five Seasons replied to Water Rat's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
I'm probably more libertarian than anything else. The above quote is accurate. I also believe the right has succumbed to some extreme religious beliefs and have maybe gone a little too far to support parts of evil corporate america in order to get a vote -

so we're in agreement with our political views. I just struggled with your phrasing that he was deliberately hurting the country. -

I agree with all that. My only point is that if asked, he would certainly claim and honestly believe it IS for the good of the company even if you and I disagree. -
you monster. You shouldn't have goals. Shoot the first thing that moves! Yeah not many folks here are honest if they claim they will pass a 3.5.

interesting, maybe the lighting. just looks like hair and face of an old buck. Should have let him grown then

Thoughts on Leupold Scopes
Five Seasons replied to Uncle Nicky's topic in Guns and Rifles and Discussions
you have a 3 to 9 on your turkey gun? anyhow, i love leupold. I have a vx-2 on my slug gun and vx-3 on my rifle. they're very nice optics. I can't say my nikon on my mz is inferior but you can tell the difference. I recommend the threaded scope caps if you get one. price is hard to swallow, but they really complete the setup. -
man that buck looks like he lived a long life. Nice work.

no disagreement there. But do you honestly believe he did them with intent to hurt the country, or do you think he thought he was doing what's best for the country and it either didn't work or you disagree with it? I'm no Obama fan, but what you're insinuating is the definition of treason. And that's a stretch. -
and that's the issue with the daks. There's a LOT of ground lol. and some of it is damn near impossible to walk.

This is my understanding too. I remember going to those inlet dumps as a kid. It was really cool to see all the bears combing the trash piles. My cabin is on brown tract and there's a few bear sightings a year around the camps. I put up a game camera a few weeks ago near a pretty good game trail I found but I just don't know about a bear even with some scents and lures.
-
i'm doing the same thing this year but have no expectations on getting a bear. It's an excuse to head to the cabin and get in the woods. There's a reason all the videos show bears being killed over bait.

i can't even follow your response. So we're done here. It's like you didn't pass middle school english.
-
no, i take time to call you out on your illegal dumping and double standards. And do so in a coherent, and grammatically correct fashion.

i have never deer hunted the mountains. I did see a show on pursuit one time where they had some guys driving the mountains. Seemed like a ton of work for little pay off. I have a place near Raquette and there's a bunch of camps, but there is even more land. I honestly don't believe humans are your issue. I believe it's just low deer density based on less crops that we have in the south. No new growth due to lack of logging and just soooooo much land that they're not squeezed into tight little spots like the southern regions. I have a spot to try black bear this fall and to get there i have to canoe across a pond. Pretty romantic i think.

Human's f'd up a lot of Jesus' teachings. As a catholic I blame my group the most. I firmly believe the nonsense rules created thousands of years ago in many religions was man's way of trying to further an agenda, start a war, become wealthy. It was never the intent of the lord. And that's why religion has fallen to where it is today. I see Pope Francis doing good things. I hope he continues down that path.

The moral of the story for most is that we don't have a problem with anyones faith. We dislike it constantly being shoved in our face.

you could take some lessons

would you prefer 6 anti-islam bashing posts a day or 2 or 3 wolc jesus posts a year?

listen, i'm a conservative republican. but an agenda to transform the military? idk man... I work for a defense contractor. Are our budgets better today than under Obama? Yes. But the ranting and raving of a few extreme liberal rags dont really represent dem politicians. Just like breitbart only represents papsmear and not most republicans. -
i think with the joist and truss it should be ok, especially spread over 3, but you have a point about weakening it. I purposely bought the 440 though so i would never be tempted to do anything heavier than a deer or 1/2 a tractor. If I drop off the radar someday, just know something came down and crushed me lol.

thanks. a lot more work to do it this way. Your method is a lot easier and better for maintenance for sure.

dude! That was exactly my point when I said "bodies". The more options you have the better. If the trannys are at the bottom, then they don't make the cut. I'm not advocating we take them to prove any point. No title 9 here. I'm advocating for accepting those who are solid soldiers or support troops who pass all the same qualifications as any other candidate. -
So here is my Saturday project in all its glory. I wanted to install this hoist without leaving a hole (just a preference) and I don't have access to to my garage attic. I peered into the attic through my vent and got an idea where the trusses met my joists. No real way to identify this location from the ceiling just the joists with a stud finder. What resulted was me cutting a small window and missing the exact spot by about 1' but I was able to pin it down this way. I would later go on to cover this hole with a 5' section of a 2x6 and attach an eyebolt where i can hang a rope and pulley gambrel system for the possible 2 deer situation. Anyhow, I over-engineered this puppy but I'm happy with the results. My 440lb hoist is mounted on a 2x10x8'. It spans 3 joists. In each joist I secured it with 2 5/8x5" lag bolts through the 2x10, through the 1" drywall and into the joist. The only complaint I have is that it's not completely centered. It was a man and wife job to get the heavy ass 2x10 with mounted hoist secured on one side while the wife held the other, than transition to her side and secure the other. But it works. The other problem with my setup is that I had to mount the hoist through the backside of the 2x10 (see pic below). Meaning I drilled holes at the mounting location and then inserted mx8x1.25-50 bolts into the threaded mounting plate. There wasn't a good way to do this in reverse and it would have required nuts on the other side anyhow. What all this means is that if my hoist breaks I will have to remove the entire 2x10 or suck it up and make an attic access hatch to remove it from the other side. fingers crossed lol.

poor choice of words. I'm sticking with a tranny who is a capable body. And serious question, if we're being selective why do they still spend millions on recruitment commercials? Heck i saw an add for the army before the dark tower movie last friday.
