  1. Just had a buck grunting in thick stuff followed by a doe blowing. They’re upwind so I assume she’s not into what he is Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Some super aggressive yelping this morning. This property I’m hunting now is loaded and not pressured. I’m learning where they roost and can’t wait for spring lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. I think spaceman crossed wires in my brain and I had man on the brain lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. @Whereareyoubuck you can draw a pretty conservative area around where it was chewed and where you take your cuts. Hang it up, skin it and just like you would arrow and bullet wounds, trim around the nasty parts. If you're really uneasy just be extra conservative. Any meat is better than no meat. You're going to lose the tenderloins of course and I'd steer away from the shoulders, although parts might still be ok for the grind pile. But those back hams and chops should be fine. Just be sure to check the inside of the backstraps that they didn't get through from the guts. Normally, like other guys have said they'll eat the ass out and you lose a lot of meat in the rump, but yours looks untouched.
  5. I'd have no issues still taking the back straps, neck and back legs off him.
  6. oh for sure, sorry if that came out wrong. Sometimes things happen fast and it's not till you get to the ground and find the animal that you find things like that and I know some couldn't care less about half racks and others do. Again, congrats!
  7. Congrats spaceman and jerkman! Jerk I’m curious, did you know he was a half rack or was it an unpleasant surprise when you found him? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. my cams are blowing up this morning. Big bucks too. A 120/130 and probably 130/140 on a hot doe at one stand
  9. Sorry to hear. Sounds like an awesome woman. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. That’s not brown it’s down then haha Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Lol well yeah he deserved it then. I guess my point was if I was in a stand on my private and posted land and the neighbor was letting their dog loose and it ran by me without a collar or vest I doubt I’d be prosecuted… not that I’d do that intentionally though. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Can you not imagine a traditional gun hunter who picked up a crossbow doing this? I can. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Without knowing the whole story, that guy has a bad lawyer. No collar and on private land and it shouldn’t matter. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. In that case who cares and we’d all be happy! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. I’m running 5 cells on 2 different properties plus another 6 or so standard cams and my dad and I have had tons of activity and punched some tags of deer that we never saw on the cams. Sometimes we start to rely too much on them and forget how deer move all wonky through the woods. If I had been going just off my cams I’d be disappointed too. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Totally understand deer drives during gun. No issues there. Hunters generally don’t push during archery as you’re hunting food and breeding. To know crossbow has opened up this practice during the rut is bothersome. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Running deer, intentionally or not is illegal in NY. So is hunter harassment if you can prove it. Also it’s coyote season and you could “mistake” a dog for a yote and so long as that dog isn’t wearing a vest, the owner only has themselves to blame. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Oh I didn’t realize the one pic was last year. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Not to be that guy… but I was going to say 3.5. No way he’s 5.5. 4.5 best. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Opening day of gun or bow? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Ended up seeing 5 doe in the neighbors field headed north and not my way. Nice not to get skunked. Debating on a morning sit or not… Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. Pushing during “archery”… that. That right there. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
