lol yeah. Although now looking at weights, it looks like the can-am's are pretty heavy. Their 850 comes in just as heavy as the 1000 at ~1000 pounds while the other japanesse 700's are closer to 700-800 pounds. But damn those can-ams are expensive.

looking at weights Polaris (lbs) 450- 700 850 -772 1000-886 Not a huge difference between them but a decent weight jump from 450 to 1000. Basically another me sitting on the quad lol. Also $7800 price difference lol.

my dad and i have both sent back cams. Yes you pay to ship to them which is ~$20 but they have always sent a new cam back without charging anything. So yea you're down $20 and that sucks, but it's better than being down $100 or $200. -
I'm looking at 3 less than 1 acre plots on flat land fields that at one time were actually farmed and crops planted on.

yes this i understand from my research. That's why I'm wondering if and why a 700 would make sense or not, if it's a weight not power issue.

So I'm getting my 3 boys ATVs for christmas. I know this sounds crazy, but I'd gladly spend that kind of money if it keeps them in the outdoors and away from a screen. Anyhow, called around to several dealers in the Rochester area and found one that has what I want coming in (a 90 and two 50's). But even then with a deposit he only has the 90 and the other 2 are "supposed" to arrive soon but he can't guarantee it. I said, hey for buying 3 can I get a deal? Or maybe something off a big boy quad? He sorta laughed, not to be mean but he's like buddy, if I sold anything under MSRP I'd be crazy because we can't keep anything or get anything. They're just getting street bikes in now and he's like who the hell wants one of those in winter? He said pre covid they easily had 100 quads in stock and I could have loaded 3 up that day. They were getting some stock of 400's and 700 grizzlys and kodiaks slowly but most of them with EPS which I wasn't looking to pay for. so it's funny you mentioned this. Looking at the used market, most guys are asking retail for 5 and 10 year old machines. Sure you're not paying tax and freight but good lord. Normally I'd never think about a new quad but it actually sorta makes sense right now.

look at this crazy thing! https://can-am.brp.com/off-road/us/en/customize-your-own/app.html?platform=ATV_OUTLANDER_MAX_6X6&package=6X6_XT_SIDE_WALL&unitid=0001VNP00

my only concern there is the width. I have some pretty remote/deep stands and I'm not eager to make super wide trails. Right now they're just wide enough for a deer cart, so I already have some work ahead to get them quad width. I guess I'll admit I haven't compared the 2, but imagine a UTV is quite a bit wider.

I have had mixed results with browning's cameras, which are made by prometheus group and browning throws their name on it. I will say that the issues I've had have been handled well. My only gripe is that I had to pay shipping which ended up being ~$20 get my cell cam replaced. I haven't had a camera manufacturer that I've had NOT have some sort of issue and I get that tech can be finicky, but my recent experience with the 5 browning cell cams was bad enough that I wouldn't recommend them to anyone even though all are and have been working for some time now. -

that's a good idea, but I still feel for the ~$200 I paid that it was the wrong move on my end. -
I posted a while back about picking up a quad to do some food plot, light farming and deer dragging. I realize that a 400 is fully capable of deer hauling. In doing some light research it's very apparent the majority say get a tractor or don't bother, while a small group of youtubers and forums note that you can get it done with a quad if you have to. The price of tractors is f'n bananas and that's all I have to say there... however I know they can be rented. I still think I'd use a quad to tow a brush mower though and I could see myself towing a small cart/trailer as I'm working on trimming the orchard tress around where I hunt. Given the above and any other reasons why I should shoot for the bigger quads?

thought of another. My scentlok fannypack with shoulder straps. First one the seam that holds the shoulder strap tore with little to no abuse. Customer support gave me shit but did replace it. Second one, same thing but hanging on by a thread at least. It's not even a great pack, 2 compartments and no water bottle holder. One of the compartments is tiny and the other is huge. I guess I was just used to my cabelas fanny pack that had like 4 compartments for easily sorting and storing. Problem is it wouldn't stay tight and wasn't waterproof. -

I've always bowhunted in a ghillie suit. My cabelas scentlock suit served me well for nearly 15 years but was starting to fall apart in spots. I bought a nomad pants and jacket combo to replace it and it's really geared towards the turkey hunter. It's VERY green and while I like it for turkey, it was more expensive then I would have normally paid for just turkey where I've started to do more blind hunting anyway. That said, I did kill a deer in it in October where it still kinda fit in. I've looked high and low and cant find a quality ghilie suit that has some browns in it anymore. -

Family and friends have knocked down a few nice bucks the last few days. Good luck to those out there with the stick and string still. Horrible weather in 8F. -

not only would i let you in Biz, but I'd hand you a cold one. -
i remember it well. Took a decent buck myself. I dont remember that far back, but I think it was still a warmer than normal bow season and that cold snap plus snow lead to a slaughtering on opening day.

My 2021 archery season is a wrap. I was lucky enough to score before Halloween and that was a blessing in disguise with a new job and a lot of travel during prime time. I hunted the least amount I have ever hunted post college except maybe the year my oldest was born. 10 sits 7 evenings, 3 mornings Deer seen all but 4 sits (first 3 and final) 1 tag punched I think this means I'm in for a gun season grind. -

both this and that buck on AT are true monster freaks and dudes still do the fishands with them. I don't get it... actually I do get why they do it, and I still don't see the reason myself. Heck this one even has a guy standing behind the hunter for added effect.
